Underworld - M.E. Lyrics
(anatano yume ni watashi wo tamoteru) can you hold me in your dreams.
(watashi wo kanjiru koto ga dekiruno watashi ga anata wo kanjiru youni)
can you feel me like i feel you.
(anatano yume ni watashi wo tamoteru) can you hold me in your dreams...
(watashi wo kanjiru koto ga dekiruno watashi ga anata wo kanjiru youni)
can you feel me like i feel you. goodbye mother earth.
goodbye mother earth. goodbye mother earth. can you feel me like i feel you.
i don't want to kill time. i want it to live.
i'm not wasting this life. i'm letting it in.
you just rip off the planet and take what you want. i'm coming to get you.
if you dont give up.
beautiful destination. goodbye mother earth.
i am all that surrounds you. the earth and the sky.
you. you're the mouth and the money thats bleeding me dry. why.
i am not a spirit of the world. i heal the spirit of the world.
i am not a spirit of the world. goodbye mother earth.
i heal the spirit of the world.
(kocchi da) it's a beautiful destination.
(kocchi da) for what its worth...
goodbye mother earth.

Underworld M.E. Comments
Thank you for an awesome experience at Roskilde 2000 - and again at Roskilde 2019. You got to dance like no one is watching. It's the only way, every other way is pretence and will defeat the purpose.
Reminds me my Opiate days.
The fucking bass line is brilliant
My fave tune & love this album
They don't make them like that any more (tracks as well as groups).
BEYOND EPIC
😉👍🏼
(special tune to a certain someone)
💜
Perfect ending to the perfect album
hahaha they sampled the Norakuro Clock yelling OKIRO!!! (Wake Up)
so THAT'S what it is! i've never known hahaa
@zedprophfer News to me too, but makes perfect sense
Thank you! Always wondered where that came from.
Don't suppose you know where the other Japanese lyrics are sampled from do you?
I've been enjoying this song for well over ten years now. Never noticed the lyrics.
Always feel a little sad when I hear this song. Maybe it's because, back in the day, it meant the album was just about done. And it felt like a journey had come to an end. Whatever you were going to do now would be a let down.
I can't believe this is 25 years old!!
Incredible album. Puts me in a trance every fucking time.
I miss Hyde, Smith & Emerson (aka 90's) era. Even though A Hundred Days Off is a damn fine album, we can see how the infamous Underworld quality started to decline from there on. Hyde and Smith are both extremely talented and innovative musicians, but Underworld just isn't the same without Emerson... Many people might disagree with me on this, but IMHO Underworld was practically a failed New Wave project before Darren Emerson and after he left the band, Underworld pretty much fell into same obscurity.
Cool post, I'll give a shit later.
I think you are giving too much credit to Emmerson. Hyde was the main creator of the Underworld sound. Underworld didn't change their sound that much during 2000s. It's just Zeitgeist for electronic music bands like Orbital, Underworld or Prodigy was over in 2000s. Another styles of music were in vogue. Rock regained its dominance among young audience and all rock/breakbeat/electronica fusion went out of style. But Underworld kept all their fan base, for sure. They were actually great at experimenting and expanding their sound in late 2000s. Mainstream has became narrow in 2000s and 2010s. Very little space for leftfield music. And Underworld was experimental in 1990s as well - it's just 1990s were time where many experiments and electronic music has been appreciated by many young people and by mainstream.
Okay, valid opinion, but I personally think the band got better once he left. Was it an infamous decline in quality? Or did the change of style just alienate people who liked that particular style? Because there is definitely a difference.
And really... Obscurity? They did the music for the opening of the Olympics, one of the most viewed events in history.
We'll never know if with D. Emerson it would be better, because inspiration of artists changes with time, and like for depeche mode, if A. Wilder came back, not sure it would be better, each band have a peak artistically in their career.
True, the music for the Olympics is a masterpiece, but i agree, with Emmerson all the tracks were excellent, after he left, not the same..
fuckinggg amazing......still amazing to listen....never forgotten them...never will....their psychedelic undergound dope induced sounds are just mind blowing....chemical brothers, moby, underworld, bjork, leftfield, boards of canada, amon tobin, massive attack....GODs gift to this reckless prison planet.......Bless them
u forgot the prodigy mate
Inspiring and uplifting
This deserves many more views. The main beat in this is so jolly yet mind-provoking.
blueski in my mind..
blue sky inside my mind great song
Because it was! They played it in a few of their latter-day MK1 sets. Probably the reason it has such straightforward lyrics.
o-ki-looooo!
