And the night it wants me like a little lost child
Locked in a safe place
Lookin out the window
The dark move fast past the window

This track is truly one of those "you had to be there for it" moments for our generation

  17. A.... ....

1999, Blastinbury. Beers, babes, tandem bicycles with Zarnubius. Really takes me back to 2070 with it's futuristic style, like a musical paradigm shift. This is the song I'd listen to while riding a maglev train to the moon. I'm a citizen of the world.

  18. D.... N....

31 people paid too much for their vests.

  33. M.... L....

June 21, 1999...Virgin Megastore, Time Square, New York City...if you've walked in through front door, down escalator to lower level, made your way towards the left-rear part of store's,"Electronica"....you would of found me at a listening station* hearing "Beaucoup Fish" for the first time.

Actually, I was there to get my copy of "Surrender" by The Chemical Brothers which went on sale that day but ended up buying two great albums that day.

*Millennial footnote: A "listening station" was a dedicated area/wall where the store had a curated selection of albums (usually new releases) by genre. Each station had its own set of headphones where you could listen and skip through the album as a way for people to "hear before you buy" but mainly as a way to discover new music. It sorta looked like a row of public telephone "booths" but you had headphones instead of a handset...(assuming you know what a telephone booth looks like)

    M.... L....

**Listening stations can still be seen at FNAC in Belgium and at Rough Trade in London. They are (still) probably more widespread than you think. My 6 year old daughter loves them.

  34. d.... ....

1999, Just left school, 16 years old, summer, life was good, and this song sends me straight back

  67. C.... F....

I so love this song and have enjoyed it for years as my personal happy head space dance music and it works every time !!! Thank you Underworld you guys are the best. After a fab intro to Underworld with Dubnobass, and I live in Edinburgh, my synergy with this magical music was crystalised when the sun was setting on a splendid sunny day on a farm in Pilton during the 90's and I was transported to a blissful paradise ...

  68. T.... ....

This is a fucking great song, underated I say!

  69. n.... w....

WHEN YOU GO YOU TAKE YOUR CENTURY

  70. C.... ....

Boy...growing up in the hood as a Mexican teen in the 90's with a deep love for techno wasn't easy. There was no one to relate my love for Underworld, Orbital, or any of the pioneers of techno with. I still have no one to relate that with except my 1 year old daughter who has a acute awareness for when daddy plays his techno. Here's to the memories of high school football, raves, and late night rendezvous with the girlfriend. Techno...the soundtrack to my life.

    C.... ....

I just wanted to say--I live in southern Colorado in an area that's heavily Hispanic (over 60%) and the kids here seem to be digging a lot of gangster rap and techno...I introduced some of my students to "cholo goth" bands like Prayers and they are getting really into it! Goth & rave culture seems to really resonate with a lot of kids here, especially those who are Native and grew up on the res, or first generation Americans whose parents are migrant workers...this music helps them express a pain that other American kids don't necessarily feel! But it DOES really conflict with traditional values (being Catholic, machismo, etc.) so it's a struggle on all fronts! All I can say is, your daughter is lucky to have such a cool dad! Keep spreading the music and love. <3 P.S. Check out Acidbat and A23P for some awesome techno

Different places on Earth. Same feelings.

Your comment is friggin real my dude. If you're still around, I would really appreciate if you could send me in some sweet directions with regards to good-ass techno and music such as this song. Peace.

    C.... ....

i was the only filipino growing up in the hood smack dab inner city of chicago but my era was the 80's listening to Punk and New Wave. Couldnt relate to anyone in the hood either wit (that). The good thing i had an identity crisis coz i was also a breaker that had turned my boxing adidas shoes into looking like a black combat boots and a hair cemented with a blue mohawk. That said, I was the only Punkrock-Breaker at the time...but later, that style made its way into the bboy community. As i say to my son(s) "fashion changes, but style endures" Be yourself.
