Undertones, The - Wednesday Week Lyrics

Here she comes to say good night
I'll get no sleep tonight
With a constant vision she still can see
She was the girl for me

Wednesday week - she loved me
Wednesday week - never happened at all

There she goes I want to see her again
She's gone to school with her best friend
She only does the things she likes to do
Now she wants something new

Wednesday week - she loved me
Wednesday week - never happened at all

Here she comes to say good night
I'll get no sleep tonight
With a constant vision she still can see
She was the girl for me

Wednesday week - she loved me
Wednesday week - never happened at all

All I can say is Brilliant

  3. ed campion

    Big beatles influence here

  4. Momma's Boy

Their music kinda had a little bit of the "bubblegum", early 1970s, rock influence in it... like The Monkeys, The Sweet, and The Bay City Rollers...

  5. Sara Amodio Official Artist Video Page

    Love this

  6. feargal75

    Top Top band.

  9. dukeoffuzz67

    The best guitar solo ever.

  10. Snuggles McSquishbottom

I love the way Feargal just sort of slumps back in resignation against the amp. So moody, yet understated.

  11. staffsyeoman

Little bits of perfection their songs; grab you, hold you, carry you and just as quickly, gone, says what it wants to say without outstaying their welcome. Genius.

  12. Thomas Kelly

sounds a bit like the monkees songs

  13. Jessica Adams

Just saw The Undertones at The Corner Hotel in Melbourne and can't get this song out of my head. And now I can see there's a documentary on YouTube too. There goes Saturday.

    Peter Grantham

I'm extremely jealous right now. It would've been great to see the Undertones live.

  14. Treviscoe

    Really like this song.

  15. Basick HD

i remember this song in the charts

  16. John Lopez

the singer looks like Dee Dee ramone

    Inauspicious Narcoleptic (AKA MrCFCarePOO)

The late Dee Dee Ramone (AKA Douglas Glenn Colvin) was from an German American background innee? Feargal Sharkey is 100% Derry Irish features. You could cut glass with his cheekbones. What Ramones and 'Tones share is a love of quick blast brevity. Just over 2 mins and they're done. So refreshing compared to half hour deeply dull indulgent concept Prog Rock dull dirges that preceeded punk,eg Rick Wakeman's dreadful Yes.

  23. LilMissIrish7

    Such a good song

  24. Greatest1979

I love Feargal's shirt. Also this song of them sounds a bit Beatle/McCartneyesque, I think.

    Simon

The concept us similar to 'The Night Before' that's why.

    Good Life

It actually reminds me of the George Harrison song 'Give Me Love'. In fact, if you play the two songs back to back, they're quite similar, Wednesday Week is just slightly quicker. Taking nothing away from The Undertones of course, it's a great song with its own individual stamp.

  25. Steve

Just seen them live, pretty damn awesome.

  26. John Ankers

Brilliant song brilliant band...that is all

My teenage years were 70's to early 80's so I've lived and breathed some of the finest music ever !!!!! LUCKY ME - and my memory is still relatively intact.
And this is simply one of the most perfectly crafted pop/punk ? songs I've ever heard- still sends a shiver down my spine.
A song to sing along to day in and day out !!! Thank you gentlemen
