Underoath - Who Will Guard The Guardians Lyrics
We are nothing, they own our lives
Just a statue of a stain in time
We are nothing, they own our lives
Spinning in circles, got left behind
But the words just rang in our ears
Machines, built by machines
Built by machines
Built by machines
Built by machines
We can only hide for so long, for so long
Before they harvest us for the souls that we have left
But we can only hide for so long, for so long
Before they harvest us for the souls that we have left
I swear we cannot wake up from this hell that we live in (we can't wake up)
But when the sun finally hits our face (we can't wake up)
We see that we are merely reflections of reflections left by our predecessors (we can't wake up)
Dragged through the mud (we can't wake up)
Chained by the ankle (we can't wake up)
There is no more running, there is no more escaping (we can't wake up)
If only God could lay his hands down on this barren land and wake us up (we can't wake up)
Because we are the lost (we can't wake up)
We are the helpless (we can't wake up)
We are the forgotten ones (we can't wake up)
We are the lost (we can't wake up)
And we are the abandoned (we can't wake up)
I swear it's worth, saving us
We pray for the sun, to dry us up
I need a clearer head, to see what we're worth
There's still life left down here to revolt
Oh, I know what it looks like from there
A loss of control to this place and we're set to extinct
I swear, I swear it's worth saving us
Oh I swear, I swear it's worth saving us
Oh I swear, I swear it's worth saving us
I swear, I swear...
Revolt! Revolt!
We stood by defeat for so long, for so long
Revolt! Revolt!
We stood by defeat for so long, for so long
We've been under you're control
We've been under you're control
We will not be a part of your disease

One of a handful of bands/artists that actually somehow improved with each release, Lost in the sound of separation and this last one 'disambiguation' are phenomenal records. <3
Pure anti-NWO song <3
i love how this song is pretty calm for the most part, and then in the last 45 seconds or so, it gets extremely intense. definitely one of my favorites off of disambiguation, and arguably one of my favorite underoath songs all around.
Disambiguation was a beautiful swan song for Underoath.
amazing!
@ xxgunnery we cannot, lest we try and become God ourselves
Notice how Spencer said "we are the lost" twice.... That destitute of which we have found ourselves in now, only God can lead us out of..., REVOLT!
god i need these questions to be answered
how can we save ourselves... how can we revolt... how can we get out of this circle...
This song....really makes me second guess about not having faith now....
what a record
amazing band , amazing music !
dude say that again because I don't anyone has any idea what you are saying
this song youcan listen the breakdown in other video "everyone looks so ggood rom here live" wich is rcorrded from the stage the most part of the vid is reording aaron, someone has comented that this song aaron has wroted
Actually a clearer head means that his brain is so full of drugs that he's lost his way an any resemblence to who he is a person an how society let's these ppl slip farther away to be nuthing but a memory
"I need a clearer head" (clear conscious) which is accomplished by the holy spirit and obedience of the truth (Gods word) and belief in the truth. You cant see your value if u live in the darkness, and you are asleep. For it is written; "wake up sleeper, rise from the dead and Christ will shine on you" (Ephesians 5:14). We been under Satans control and are machines built by machines, lost. Revolt, and give your life to Christ today. God bless you all!
@7Hardcore7Christian7 completely true
@rockstarshadowboy This song is about the human and society crisis nowadays. We live in materialism, we are stuck in routine, we just make that this big capitalist system works like a machine does with all their parts functioning perfectly programmed (us). Come on People WAKE UP!!!!! TDWP Dead throne's album say it too, Parkway Drive Deep Blue's Album talk about the same thing, House vs Hurricane too!!! Listen to their lyrics carefully!!!! Even BMTH in some songs!!!
Someone please explain this song to me....
Wait what's the meaning of this song
Revolt against them. Or they will kill you. Good luck
@papiesbonito in many of underoaths lyrics there is a personification of something intangible or something lifeless perhaps could be a sin or an object that causes one to drive into sin.. for example: drugs, sex, wrath, abandonment,,, also, in 2:25 he mentions that he know how it looks like "from there" where he also says in the loss of control,., so perhaps talking about an object that drives to an unsatisfying situation that "from there" apears to be satisfying....
@SteveOOO122 oh im really sorry.. yea i kinda accused them about bein part of that bulcrap.. many of us fans got a lil confused but they explained it about these symbols and yeah.. :D UO still rocxxx
@johnhimura1000 Shut up this is the stupidest thing i've ever heard! Underoath isn't and never will be part of the Illuminati or any sort of New World Order or satanic cult. Just because they aren't all worshippy doesn't mean they aren't Christian! Underoath's lyrics come from Spencer's difficult recovery from a serious drug addiction and the times he was lonely and on the verge of suicide. He just wants to save other people from falling into the same hole he did growing up.
Who is he talking to in this song? God? satan? the human race? please respond.
STOP LISTENING TO THIS SHIT BEFORE U GET BRAINWASHED!!! THYRE ALL ILLUMINATI AND SHIT DONT BE BLIND JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE A CHRISTIAN BAND BEFORE... SPENCER PROLLY IS AN ILLUMINATI AN HE KEPT IF SECRET UNTIL HE COULD CONTROL THE WHOLE BAND AND MAYBE HE CONVINCED THE REST OF THE MEMBERS TO GO ILLUMINATI AND SHIT.. i think theyre not praisin the same god that we all know..
maybe, i dunno. i'm not so sure Spencer is into the bible so much, spiritual yes, but, maybe not so structured. i think he might see something else, and, i think in this, he is saying under the control of what is known as "satan" "DMX prison interview"(<-- search that) he describes it well(simply at least). but, its changing, people are coming to understand life, at least a little.
@7Hardcore7Christian7
I definitely agree... the guitar part that comes in right as he screams "Revolt" sounds like it could be off their older stuff.
Easily the best song of the album.
