Underoath - Angel Below Lyrics
You took me over the edge
And left me there to fall by myself
The word love meant nothing to you
I was taken in with your lies
And you knew I was too weak to leave
You mean nothing to me now
Every time you think of me
I hope your heart dies
I have found my true love
And you now burn beneath my feet
You'll pay for everything you've done
If you could die
I'd be the one with the gun
From this day on
I'll write the songs you hate
It's time to let the world know how
You tried to ruin my life
Up burn my thoughts of him
The virus leaves me

antichrist checking in. what does it all mean though?!
Yaba daba dooo!
*starts moshing*
Ahhh old memories
All the photos with Spencer even though this was purely a Dallas song... Lol
i was gonna point out the same thing. ignorance perhaps?
Right? Though to be fair, Did Dallas even take photos with UØ back then?
@K2SonicFan yeah, right? i was just thinking about how lame band promo pix are... like car commercial salesmen.. i'm sure dallas felt the same, as a person that wrote 'act of depression' lol...
scrolled dpwn for this. thanks
ps i knnow theyre different bands basically but underoath was better with dallas. i love the "sellout" pop type shit they did, thats how i found them, but underoath was better with dallas. just so many heaters.
an overlap collab with him and spencer woulda been wild
So glad that they are back togheter! Had to do a cover of this song!
+Bjorn .Andersson (hgfbjrn) /watch?v=MVvN4XVJAbc
Always love the part at 2:31 that sounds like the king of the hill theme....
it totally does not sound like the word love "meant nothing to you" I can understand him with the word love, but the rest just does not fit. and I know those are the correct lyrics because it says it in the booklet... any others?
This song is the shit. The synth is wassup
@Hernan Cortes yeah my sister told me that keyboard doesn't work in that kind of music (that was when i was going to be in a metalcore band playing keyboard) but she was wrong because christopher dudley did a great job in some songs like this one
@Matthew Steel I own a Roland FA 06 and use it to compose hiphop beats but I would love to be in a heavy ass band and play keys lol
fuck jesus
Such a pussy. Insecure low IQ bitch. You don’t have the balls to say that to my face.
@Tribal Blood fuck Jesus
Ahh Memories..
haha, first thing I noticed
Why is it that when ever I go on a youtube video for one of the songs that the old Underoath did, I see people bashing the new Underoath? NEWS FLASH! I think both of them are great!!! I understand why people can't understand the lyrics for their new songs, but thats because the new Underoath has cryptic lyrics that are suppose to make you think about what could it mean. Think of it like the mysterious easter eggs in each Valve games that refer to the story of their games. God, I'm a nerd!
People need to get off dallas' nuts, yes he was a great screamer, The Changing Of Times is one of my all-time favorite albums but face it, spencer fits underoath better, dallas is a southerner so maylene fits him perfectly, and compared to spencer dallas sounds like he's completely out of breath... I understand you guys love him but dammm quit talking like if spencer is a horrible screamer
Haha I was thinking the same thing about the megaman sound lmao
This is not the verison I'm looking for.....the other verison didnt have this fuckin annoying megaman beat. It was wayy more brutal.
Odin you're an idiot. Like then or not they had a big part in shaping the genre back in the day.
This song is obv about satan, they're a christian group of people,
If only those pics weren't of when Spencer did vocals. Dallas was king.
miabih Is it easy to differentiate their voices?
A song unlike any other in existence so fucking epic .. possibly legendary :)
Great lyrics, great song. Thanks for putting it up, bro.
Oh, and by the way, people. Have something contributing, analytical, resourceful or just interesting to say or just shut up. You're getting nothing done with your "you're retarded and im so much better" talk. It's juvenile and useless.
Great lyrics, great song. Thanks for putting it up, bro.
@VICERxxEXCISER their lyrics have multiple meanings, thats the beauty
@brandonmprelipp now no original members remain, i do believe, sorry if im wrong. its kind of sad...
Wow you old underoath fans are just straight up assholes
@brandonmprelipp id have to disagree with the new albums being not good subtract the newest one but you right Dallas Taylor is much better and does deserve credit considering this is him screaming the band wouldnt be where they are today without him and Aaron this guy should try remaking the vid with old members like even b4 this album just for the sake of nostalgia
@777zachk good :)
@MrGuitarProff haha ftw <3 but i loved it i listened to and i was like, oh i gotta learn it so as soon as i picked up my guitar i leant it by ear
@777zachk My favorite part starts from 00:00 and end at 3:26 : )
My Favorite Part Starts at 2:31
To be honest, I like all of the songs Underoath has made to date, not just for their rhythm, but also their lyrics. Disambiguation is awesome, if you actually understand the message Spencer is try to convey, and well, Underoath is Underoath to me, so don't hate the singers, Underoath is still holding true to its promise since day one regardless of the changes.
@RoCkInRiO89 Yeah Disambiguation isn't that good. Define the Great Line is their best and They're only chasing safety, right behind it.
@dannyschult I won't lie Dallas had much better lyrics but in vocalization Spencer is much better. I would say they both did/doing good in their time with Underoath.
I think I've memorized the entire song. Yes, been listening closely to Underoath since September of 2010, and this song as of November.
honestly respect both Dallas and Spence but in my opinion I would rather keep Spence. I mean Dallas left and spence kept the band going and new underoath pretty much made a new genre so I personally think that's respectable.
I'm not saying Dallas is bad but i still like Spence by a mile. the only person I would regret leaving would be aaron :/
Also it seems like people who prefer old u.o detest new u.o.
so I'll say to you the same as anyone who doesn't like Underoath: Suck it!
1:36 after an intense bong rip.
@VICERxxEXCISER lololol why do you respond to the ignorance of others , shit just listen to w.e you want =p
i swear people are retarded...ANGEL BELOW obviously talkin bout satan bro..this is when underoaths lyrics actually had MEANING.
@luvthatska ahhh i see, well that's a sensible take on things. haha
Isn't this band a Christian band? Those are some pretty hate-filled lyrics...
Lol, i love the song though.
@TheNervousBreakdown Use ADBlockPlus dumb fuck.
@middy02 pffffif alone in december tells me other things
@Potellio hahaha this is the good underoath, not the nowdays generic and shitty band
what is this song suppose to be about? has anyone just read the words without the music they're eerie
the synth part has always been awesome haha
The reason I love Underoath is that no album sounds the same as the other. They're a band of change... I really love all their CDs because they each have their own element. A lot of people these days want to hear the same thing over and over. If da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa over and over, it wouldn't be special! I love what underoath was, is, and will be!
@GUNITsoldieification this song REVOLVES AROUND the damn keyboard going "ba dew da dee, ba dadadada dew dew dee"
great song... but the video just made me realize i can't wait to see the death of swoops. gah that shit is ugly.
this is dallas taylor's.
@parademan101 specer isn't bad. but dallas was/is amazing.
@parademan101 true story.
the band made 2 different kinds of music with the different singers. dallas made metal, spencer made hardcore. stop argueing
Hes not talking about a girls, hes talking about the devil, underoath is a christian band
Dallas trumphs Spencer any day. I for one am glad he has moved on to bigger and better things, and thrive on Maylene albums. His lyrics mean something so much more to me.
Dallas Makes Me Squirt lol ;p
Dallas was good, But Underoath has progressed to something much better.
LMBO he said "If u could die id be the one with the gun" ROFL XD
@homosapien11 well this is dallas. i like dallas way better but yeah whatever
Spencer is so much better than Dallas. Dallas is much better suited for Maylene...and at least his voice has gotten a TAD better.
@homosapien11 agree 78%
underoath is not underoath without dallas, listen to this runs through and foreknown real good christian metalcore
So why did you put up a bunch of pictures with Spencer in them?? Because when they made the album, "The Changing of Times", Spencer wasn't even in the band. The lead singer was, Dallas Taylor. -You're probably not a die hard fan, but try and get your facts straight next time.
@brandonmprelipp not to be negatvie but i honestly like all of underoath's stuff. but hey, i listen to underoath while writing song's about the father, and writing sermons.
yep thats true it was called a dear misery, and there is demo of reinventing you exit -called look past the bright lights, they wrote young and aspiring too mixed with one other song-so almost every good song that was released after dallas left was already written with dallas =( still spencer is great though i liked him way more in THIS RUNS THROUGH,Dallas still owns music was way more unique then not like now -uo is sooooo like every other screamo band
ok i dont get it, why are you playing old underoath, but showing pictures of the new underoath........makes NO sense to me
yeah i hate how bands COMPLETELY change their genre because of a new singer :/
yeah i have to agree with brandonmprelipp...Dallas was a great lyricist even tho i think Aaron helped with them
they have 2 original members. aaron and chris.
That was original,
I think Underoath should just change their name. Considering they only have 1 original member, their sound is completely different, and they suck(imo). I just think they gave birth to so much more and produced a more unique and mesmerizing sound.
i understand ur appreciation and i kno spencer did try to copy dallas after dallas left (he even admitted so in an interview) but the band didnt have that much mainstream succes until spencer came along. and the album when he stopped imitating dallas was their best and most succesful album to date
I think the word you are searching for is monotone, i just appreciate this because it helped build a whole new generations of artists who in turn led you back to this. Of course i listen to the "new stuff" as you say, i have all the albums. The bottom line is spencer was trying to imitate dallas on the C.D. right after dallas left because he wanted people to still like the band.
it doesnt matter if u listened to them b4 i did, spencer is still a MUCH better screamer than dallas. dallas is wayyy too one-note. listen to their new stuff, it is so much better than this crap!
thats why the new screamer on the album right after dallas left tried to sound like dallas to keep record sales steady. . .
Aaron is the only original member
spencer int in it
EWW!! underoath sucked before spencer came along
absolutley they played a show in richmond va and i was front row i got the but of the guitar after he broke it i cut my hand all to shit fighting for it lol
thats because this is dallas the best screamo singer ever
This is actually my favourite song by underoath.
damnnnn this music is sooo gooooood!!!
The devil broke his heart. God fixed it and made it better it his (true love).
alright
this is dallas and aaron
oh thanks but still sounds what i been through
man this song is totally what i been through with sum bitch when she broke my heart
Cool song, and the video is ok! But you're showing pictures of the new underoath, while Gillespie is the only one you can hear in the song ;) thanks for giving me a listen though!
