UFO - Let It Rain Lyrics
Two lovers in a desperate game
She holds him close but their love's in vain
And the married man that you laid
Goes back home to his own charade
Tender moments in a motel bed
When you press the point he says we'll see
But then walks to his mystery
[1] So darling you tell me it's a wild world
You gotta take a little pain and
How long will love last that you can
Never, never explain
[2] Do you just
Don't stop those tears falling again just
Let it rain, let it rain
Now you see that love's just a game
In his arms time goes so fast
But stolen love will never last
You try to keep him though you know it's wrong
This kind of love can only last so long
[Instrumental]

UFO Let It Rain Comments
One of the best Heavy Metal bands from all times...
The first tour I saw them on. Classic track and album. So joyous.
That's the tour I remember ... such an eye opener ... I'm afraid I took UFO for granted for years, like I can't imagine my life without these songs ... going to see them in 4 days in Vegas. RIp Paul Raymond. Man.
Seriously how cool is this? 👍
I think Phil is really a very sensitive person despite all his bluster I bet he experienced what he is singing in this song and love to love and try me
HERE ARE THE LYRICS FOR ALL TO ENJOY :

This kind of love can only last so long.......
Best song on this album.
Yes yes yes yes yes yes YESSSSS words cannot describe how much love this band and their wonderful music
Great melodies, great playing, and they're still going! Much respect.
Saw the on this tour!! I've seen 100's of Metal & Hard Rock acts!! I will take to my grave, UFO Mechanix tour, loudest concert I ever went too.
This is absolutely amazing
Great great album!!
Fuck... I love this band...always have , always will.
Нравятся мне такие вещи у ufo !
Let it rain ....A standout track from the "Mechanix " album and worth the price of that album alone.
I can see the influence on Def Leppard performance wise
DefLeppard1221 Absolutely !!
Falar oque do ufo? Simplesmente uma das melhores banda de rock. Perfeita.
UFO will always be one of the most underrated bands ever.
I got merch from this band secondhand, now I try to find out who they are😂
Hugely underrated singer. Amazing cadence. Yeah, I said it.

So fresh!
Hard to describe how beautiful this song is!

Amasing rock band
Right on tommydee7!!!!!!
Great song and album, very underrated and it's held up very well. Remember seeing this tour at the Ampitheater in Chicago with Saxon opening. Great memories, fortunate to see them play many times. Favorite show was Obsession tour also at the Ampitheater in 78 which ended up on Strangers. Schenker era is untouchable, however, Tonka was great also.
Thankx for the post. I thought this was the best post Schenker UFO album. Galloping guitars on this song and Phil's lyrics were very romantic throughout most of Mechanix. As poppy as they ever got. Never knew it was on MTV but not many people had cable back then. I saw them twice in 3 months after this release, Once w/Saxon and second time w/Rainbow. This album had the commercial appeal while still rocking out but some agent, somebody's got to push it. Always underrated band. Great.
The video aired on MTV.
Fuck me but UFO are out...fuckin...standing. Mechanix is in my opinion their best work. Rock craftsmen at their collective best. Clean, sharp, hard riffs. Great lyrics and vocal melody. Just the best at what they do. This song gives me goosebumps. Try "We belong to the Night and Doing it all for You" from the same album
totally agree!
I've lived in Boston since '88. I just can't believe there's someone else here that waited by their tour bus that night! I remember those days so well....Neil Carter was all hyper (coked up?) jumping all around saying, "Jolly Good!" after every picture....Donnie Iris opened the show. I had to climb under the stage during his set to get my coat. It fell down there after security kicked us outta the isle in front of the stage. He kept yelling at me while I was under the stage! It was pitch black!!
dude...you just blew my poor, deeply-fried mind!! I was at that show!! I had my pics taken with each band member that night, but I remember Phil got right on the bus and bummed me out....I'm from Elkhart -where are you from?
Excellent song but schenker could always tear up the guitar waaaaay better than chapman. I wonder what a combination of chapman and schenker would've produced?
The Schenker / Chapman line-up DID exist for a brief period in '74, captured on one of their many live albums. Wouldn't have worked in the long run - Chapman was far too good to play second fiddle to Schenker. UFO needed that designated rhythm guitar/keyboard player.
Simply Fantastic- Of Course MTV never played. Way" No Pun Intended" Totally underestimated. Love Chapman-era UFO!
Beats bagging groceries, I suppose.
best band of all timr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what loosers..no hits...
Well said fella..
Amen to that. I'm coming back 3 years on to compare versions now found on the Tube
Not that much, how so? Outfits?? ha ha
I had a helluva time catching up with UFO's Paul Raymond, who liked the hotel room better then meeting every last fan?!
Schenker left after Strangers was in the can, 79 for work on LoveDrive, Scorpions
Lost Bon Scott and John Bonham, but Rock will survive and Schenker proved he could do it with MSG as well, these bands are all worth paying attention to, that's the real statement one can say
Hollow body electric, like a Byrdland Gibson?! Why not?? Stray Cats Setzer does, though it's 50s vibe
Notty Berry played on it?!? hahaha
Be nice if this full live show would come out, would it not? Saw it originally on VH1s countdown 100 best bands of Hard Rock and HM, though UFO is at the top, not number 89?!?!? Whatever it was, I have that footage I hope to host for folks here soon
Nick Berry covered this song?
Not bery intrested on this song
Thanks great to see this
fuck, now I feel old
This what you call a party record. Ace.
@unravelled1962 That semi acoustic guitar looks worse. Definately not a get up on stage and rock out look unless you're Ted Nugent.
meh. they're just kinda average w/out Mikey.
1977 to 1982 UFO WERE AS BID AS ANYBODY UNFORTUNATLEY HEAVY ROCK WAS STRUGGLING TO STAY AFLOAT ONLY THE BEST STAYED ALIVE,, AC/DC RAINBOW / RUSH/ OZZY/ SABBATH/ VAN HALEN ECT........
What a song... what a vibe.... what a band! UFO rocks!
Saw Them In 1982. At Capital center, D.C. When this Album Came Out. They Were
Opened for AC/DC. Sadly, M. Schenker has left The band. Anyway, Paul Chapman
Were Great Too. I Always Like this Band Ever since They came Out. They Got Class,
Style,Attitude, Oh Yeah. Of Course, Their Music.
LONG LIVE UFO!!!!!!
A funny thing is that although Mechanix was, with Strangers in the Night, UFO's biggest album, this song was only a minor hit single. We thought it would be huge. Anyway, that hardly matters - it's brilliant, and that's more important.
Lights Out was their biggest selling album.
Andy Parker-My biggest influence.
Me and some friends met Phil Mogg and Pete Way in an alley behind the Morris Civic Auditorium in South Bend, IN in 1981 during their "The Wild, the Willing and the Innocent" Tour. They were walking out to their tour bus after the show. Very freindly. Let us take some photos. Pete was in a hurry but Phil let us take some photos. Very cool. The guy has total class.
always amazing backing vocals by the multi talented mr. carter
amen ..i love that stayed underground .did'nt cheapen them,,shenker is a god.and its more like coldgay
!!! indeed! Proper is the word
proper band....not ur go to bed early veg eatin coldfuckinplay !
Awesome song by one of rock's greatest bands... UFO!
Most promos are mimed if not overdubbed.
Hey, I got that LP! off eBay. Has the best Lonestar track on it, worth it for that alone
I bought the preMechanix LP 45 single with Heel of a Stranger on the flipside. It's a 12 inch at 45 RPM!! I'll upload that cool track.
I'm 42 this year. Got into UFO in 1980
when i was a teenager UFO was my alternative rock selection. I listened to this song 100s of times. this band in my humble opinion is the most underated band of all time. they are anything and everything a good rock band should be. thanks
They look more like the Ramones than Motley Crue now when they did Misdemeanor I would have to say they went silly
they rocked this opening for ozzy when he whizzed the alamo
ufo mhenanix rocked
Chapman looks so cool, the band had the best image here. What would you call the style of dress they have in this video?
UFO stil ruled the world when Paul Chapman replaced Schenker. Nobody rocks with more elegance and craftmanship than UFO!
Micheal Schenker is playing Kneresbourgh! Can't wait!
Thanks A*
not mimed then ?!
