U2 - Satellite Of Love Lyrics
Satellite's gone
Up to the sky
Things like that drive me
Out of my mind
I watched it for a little while
Oh...satellite of love
Ah...satellite of love
Oo...satellite of love
Satellite
Satellite's gone
Way up to Mars
Soon it will be filled
With parking cars
I love to watch things on TV
Ooo...ahh...satellite of love
Ha...satellite of love
Satellite of love
Satellite
I've been told that you've been bold
With Harry, Mark, and John
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
Harry, Mark, and John
Satellite's gone
Up to the sky
Things like that drive me
Out of my mind
I watched it for a little while
I love to watch things on TV
Hoo...satellite of love
Haa...satellite of love
Hoo...satellite of love
Satellite of...
Satellite...satellite...
[Repeat until end]

U2 Satellite Of Love Comments
Typically shit U2 cover, up there with that twat Keating in his 'Sean Connery' voice of Shane's 'Fairytale of New York' then again nothing can be THAT bad
I like the dark states in the picture
But you still wanted to look like a black and white picture the weather tent of color in it
In the Dark Shadows of the black and white pictures they should put its hint of color
In black and white pictures he should put a little bit of tint of color
He can hate everything about me
Hmn never heard this. Like it!👠🍄🍌🍦🍶🏄♂️🔨🇨🇦🇱🇷
So many memories with those ‘90s U2 songs....I was listening this with my best friend back at the time under the sky full of stars..
I really liked it when it came out
I love love love this song😍😍😘😎 I have a long history with this tune in early may 1992 I bought the. "One "single and it had 2 other tracks on it the first was of course "one" the 2nd was "Lady with the spinning Head" and this "satellite of love" I lost my tape back in February of '95 I haven't heard or found any of the other 2 tracks (that ended up being my favorite especially satellite of love) since I found it here on YouTube 😀😁😁😁😄😉😊😊
Same here Julie. The One single w bonus tracks really satisfies. Good time in my life then =)
Love this cover! Please consider giving credit to Reed for writing it, though.
Shut up and enjoy music ;-)
Thank You
I don't agree with some commentaries, It's a good cover.......
I honestly don't know how people can hate this cover. This is actually the first version I heard of this song and fell in love with it. I then checked out Reed's and found that fantastic as well and really appreciated what U2 took from it and how they added their own touch. Technically Bono sang this better than Lou however like a few have said this is in no way meant to compete with the original. U2 loved Lou Reed. I can't shake the feeling that the people who are dissing this just don't like U2, or more likely, Bono. One website listed this as one of the great covers of Reed's songs!
Don't hate it, but it's lacking David Bowie's sublime backing vocals, therefore it just doesn't compare.
Edge's backing vocals are really nice and he harmonizes very well Bono. *But* like I said about te lead vocals, Bono's is better. Lou's great but he's no doubt half talking during the song while Bono goes for the soulful side. IMO lead vocals matter more than the backing since, well they're the lead. But I consider originals better since they're the original.
@Ann White Meh! still... really good!
Great cover. It's awesome when I remember it and dig it out. It's just chill.
I love this version as well as Reed’s and I’m an avid Lou/VU fan.
I hate how people always feel the need to compare covers to originals and decide which one is best. Obviously the original gets points for being THE ORIGINAL. But the whole point of covers, if done well, is that they're different and put a twist on the song. This cover certainly achieves that. I love this cover and I love the original.
I just heard this at a used cd place. I LOVE Lou reed and now i LOVE this so.
this cover is ass. now tom waits covering it might be something to hear.
it is still Lou Reeds song
Well, duh.
Gavins backing vocal is too low in this mix.
might not have worked in the studio, but the Zoo TV versions are very nice.
the Sydney show links are all over.
zzzzzzzz
Horrible cover. Sorry, Lou.
Oh, when people don't agree with you, they're a douche?
Are you Donald Trump?
Lol. Sorry. I shouldn't have called you a douche bag. You were just stating
your opinion
that's a great cover
And who cares about your sapidity????
You have wax in your ears, scratch it!!
Thanks Bono ,,,
He's gone up to the sky. R.I.P. Lou.
2:54 Love when the guitar kicks in
u2 love you u2 love you simply my life
I like this better than the original, probably because of Bono's beautiful, sexy falsetto. Also, it's prettier. Actually I like Eurythmics' version better than the original too.
One of the most beautiful versions of this song! I love U2!!!
The reason U2 started writing their own material and don't really do covers is because they can't.
They make interesting B-sides but it's why U2 sound like U2.
Good comeback.
If only people knew how much Lou Reed liked this version.
they kinda fucked up the chorus
They should get fined for this. It saddens me this is from their good era.
I could never listen to the Reed version again without hearing Bono's "Haaa'aaa'aaa" in my head from now on. Such a shame.
Thank you, Bono
cannot be
No, just , no.
I love to watch thing on (ZOO) Tv !
B-)
this version sux!!!!
this version is too mellow for me..
i want my ZooTV....
Nice edit too!
Bellissima interpretazione ma preferisco la versione originale di Satellite of Love...! (di Lou Reed ovviamente)
@tereziaca
what do you mean?
I love the original and I love this. Any precious fans on here need to get over themselves. People shouldn't cover Lou Reed? C'mon, Lou didn't write this song for you did he? Just because you're a fan doesn't mean an artist's music belongs to you.
the original is way better
oh those satellites, they can be helpful even heroic, but they might also turn into junk, please beware!
que putos se ven la verdad, pero son unos genios musicales
Bono's voice was never the same after Zoo Tv...
Just stumbled across this.....this is really bad. People should really not try to cover Lou Reed or the Velvet Underground....it doesn't work. Cover Dylan or Cohen not Lou Reed.
This version may suck but you cant deny that Bono's voice was pretty fucking awesome back then
fucking U2, they really know how to destroy a great song, fucking U2....
@asusundevils1971 You're right... that was better than this recorded version...
@LizzyLouFiftyTwo Aha yeah ... Well i rly dont care what you think .... Besides i never compared u2 and Lou ....
i was about to say this was great.. but then those high notes hit lol but i still like U2, they shouldnt have attempted this though:/
Awful version
@Herringish dude, just because youre deaf doesnt mean thaat edge is a guitar miracle, which he is. even if it just was because hes different than any other guitarist
@Herringish It's my opinion. Pure guitar genius is not the fastest player, but the one you recognize as soon as you hear him..
IMHO this happens only for few guitarists: The Edge, Dave Gilmour, Hendrix, Mark Knopfler, Van Halen, Slash..
Other players are surely fastest or showing more technical abilities but they are - at the same time - less peculiar..
I don't see this as a competition betwean lou reeds version and this one, more like an homage and paying respect to lou reed, since Bono (and i believe the rest of the bend) are a great fans of Lou. I like both versions, Lou's a bit more. But this one is awesome too.
I like this song, it has a unique feel to it, laid back but upbeat. I love the photos you've used, it reminds of the book Three Chords And The Truth which I used to own, it got stolen.
u2 version is much much better than boring Lou Reed, no disrespect brother
Epic guitar. The Edge is pure genius
great videos, The cute pictures I´ve never seen before!
I love their version of the song to bits and Bonos voice is awesome <3
that picture of bono hugging the edge is so adorable. <3
make sure you listen to 2:20 thru 3:45 before you judge this song!
u2 makes hearts feel warm :]
25 years ago today, this was the intro snippet to 'bad' at live aid. check it out. this isn't a bad song really, don't know it is being bashed. edge is spot on. what's really freaky is the d*mn picture show. kudos to you for putting this together. rock on.
@Gringotom well said Bono has become an A class wanker. He's even promoting the Conservative party in the UK. This man has no morals other than promote himself
Great cover :) Very emotive and kicks in towards the end...
its by lou reed right?
xD funny song this is, I like the pictures naha
U2 is my favourite for ever <3
Absolute crap version by U2 Bono give the planet a break you have covered so many original artist's and Jim Morrison you are not as Patti Smith told you quite a few year's ago.
this sucks
is that kafka in the beginning?
Not going to be able to add that punch Bowie did.
Much better than the live version, but still nowhere near Reed's best song.
magic.. great cover!
i like that cover, but the original is fantastic! (:
still dig this tune, the U2 version got me into listening to Lou Reed when i was a kid.
lou reed versions better
lol, that episode was funny.
meh, its okay. i like the original better
its better
Milla Jojovich's version is better:
watch?v=D-czfk23ovw
I think they're both from the 'Million Dollar Hotel' motion picture soundtrack
I was going for humor but you can tweak if you like idc.
U2 wrote "Miami"
I suppose it's O.K. for a band like U2 to put something like this on a B-side: not making it their main focus, but by its very inclusion, drawing attention towards the original artist.
An A-side would suggest they were trying to compete with Lou Reed, but a B-side is more like honouring the man -- or trying to, anyway.
Just a thought.
(Not even sure if the musical world of today operates in A- and B-sides anymore.)
I hadn't heard this version before.
Not sure if I will again.
YOU SIR ARE A HUGE PIECE OF SHIT!
its an alright cover, wouldnt call it great it.
really dont like the chorus though
i much prefer the lou reed version
South Park was right when they said that Bono was literally a huge piece of shit
Great pictures!
This is pretty good. U2 really made it their own in a way. Lou Reed still does it the best though.
lou reed >>>>>
i agree, no comparison
a great version, but i think the version of lou reed is better ;)
omg. i love. LOVE the pictures.
where did u find them???
great.great.great.
Anything that is done with the heart deserves respect, love is the best as so is good music! Thanks
I think they do this song much better live for two reasons, it's slower, and Lou Reed sings it with Bono. Don't get me wrong though, I'm a huge U2 fan.
