Tyler Childers - Creeker Lyrics
In a small corner bar he sits there a-drinkin'
Lost as a ball in a field full of corn
Further away than he ever imagined
That he'd ever end up from the place he was born
Than the one that you see outside of your eye
Drinkin' alone as he looks out the window
At all of the strangers on the corner outside
He'd rather be dead
Than alive one more minute
In this godforsaken town
When he was a kid
Lord, he'd never have dreamed it
All the ways that the city can bring a country boy down
Now they knew not his name and he knew not their faces
And he knew not the how nor the reason for why
You could ever wake up and wanna keep on a-livin'
In a place where a friend is such a hard thing to find
And for everyone you meet there's a whole mess of people
Tryin' like hell to pull you on down
To the level they're on and the trouble they're tendin'
In the mess that they've made, in the gutter they found
He'd rather be dead
Than alive one more minute
In this godforsaken town
When he was a kid
Lord, he'd never have dreamed it
All the ways that the city can bring a country boy down
Some fellas do pills and things of that nature
Some fellas chase girls to hang on their arm
Some fellas get by on practically nothin'
Some fellas get pissed in a small corner bar
And they'd rather be dead
Than alive one more minute
In this godforsaken town
When they were all kids
Lord, they'd never have dreamed it
All the ways that the city can bring a country boy down

You & Cody Johnson, keepin it COUNTRY!!
In a small corner bar he sits there a-drinkin'
Lost as a ball in a field full of corn
Further away than he ever imagined
That he'd ever end up from the place he was born
Now no more forlorn as the Creeker drank whiskey

Drinkin' alone as he looks out the window
At all of the strangers on the corner outside
He'd rather be dead

In this godforsaken town

I love Tyler as yall know if you read the comments of his vids her eon youtube for the last 8 years....But, The album versions just aren't doin it for me, give it to me live
Has any of you seen his older stuff, he looks like he's 12 . . . What a voice . ! .
How do mainstream “new country artists” keep doing what they are doing after hearing something like this. How do they not just hold their heads in shame.. Tyler gets it. Well done sir..
Because the masses like shitty music. And they are in it for the money nowadays
I dig the rank strangers parallel
The Johnny Cash of 2020
This is a hell of a lot of more country that the mainstream shit they try to pass off as country. This beats the hell out of this modern bro country shit
Can't wait to see him in Toronto. EH! !
Drove from Oregon to Wyoming and back with my love and listened to this album the whole time. It was nice then, and it's nice now. Think of it whenever I'm in a city
Wow is the best
Rank Stranger Redux.
Nominee for GRAMMY
I adore this you man.....
So glad to see him getting hid due
Save music and I will be buying it up.
Gassed up for the concert in Toronto and the next one too with sturgill at coca cola Coliseum

I'm in one of those places 😥😂🤣 DAM
Just can’t argue about this mans talent!
It’s hard to stay sober listening to this. It’s a great whiskey tune. I’m proud of myself but y’all drink up🤘🏼
Man this albums a grower
Pay attention kids, this is talent. Learn from it.
My goodness, this Childers boy went and wrote a modern version of Rank Stranger!
Man this song brought memories of Ralph Stanley, Rank Strangers.

This song is a huge nod to Ralph Stanley
When he says "all the ways the city can bring a country boy down" it hits me hard cause I'm a cowpoke stuck out here with them city slickers
I just love that nice little reference to the Stanley Brothers.
Makes me think if him as a thoughtful young man.
I used to think country was dead, all I listened to was the outlaws of yesterday. But I've been lucky enough to find some gems like Tyler & Sturgill and they've given me faith to keep on searching for more. I cant get enough of this music. They may not be the most popular but their music will stand the test of time where these pop country artist will fade quick because the real country artist have talent that will stand the test of time. I look forward to what comes next.
This right here is one of my new favorites! Keep gettin better Tyler!
I leave the city and run to the creek
im a country boy from maysville forced to live in Louisville for work and i feel this one right down to the ground. it never gets dark in the city it never smells fresh after rain, plp dont pull over for funerals they wont feel another mans pain they just pass that hearse in the in the ever faster fast lane
Damn this is good
"Lost as a Ball, In a field full of corn. Further away than he ever imagined that he'd ever end up from the place he was Born"
I'm from NY (yeah I know I'm a Yankee! Fuggedaboudit) but lemmie tell you, all the soul in the 5 boroughs can't compare to the soul of this sole Kentuckian.
Another great tune, keep em coming.
O Yeahhh . Wonderful . Just great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every day listening material and # 1 artist in my book shout out to "tyler childers" from this Minnesota plumber.
What's up with the leviathan cross in the cover art?
It looks cool
Favorite song on the new album. It doesn't seem as overproduced as the rest and has a classic country sound to it. Don't let Nashville bring a country boy down!
Well done T
I account for atleast a thousand views in a couple weeks. Have done learned the whole album word for word, note for note. And many other songs. This is what should be playing on counteu radio everywhere not luke bryan and his other disgraceful counterparts. Tyler is the motherfucking truth
Suck this Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia line
Funny thing is...those pop country guys probably listen to shit like this. Lol
I love the fiddle in this song!
You are AMAZING Tyler.
Here's to you Dickinson, North Dakota! GFY!
Outta the gate @ # 1 !
We love ya on the creek in floyd co...run up n see us sometime
This is one hits home with me harder than I’m comfortable admitting. living in Appalachia and moving to the city for work has long been my biggest regret in life. Glad I got to meet this man in Knoxville a couple years ago
I love the sneaky pioneer logo at the bottom
Rank strangers to me
I just discovered this guy
cant get over how awsome this young man is. City boy hear who loves country and southern culture.
Tyler has more soul in one verse than all of these "country" POP singers have all together. Keep it real brother. God Bless

OMG that is beautiful! Exactly how I'm feelin.
Us northern boys in Minnesota love ya tyler childers
Anyone else notice the true cross of Lucifer at the bottom center of this image? Looks like he's woke as fuck. Country music for those that respect themselves. Just what I needed.
I suppose Mark Suckenburge, over at Facebook, thinks I give a shit if I'm ban from a bunch of social engineers or not as freedom is felt and not sculpted by the need of greed chief Three Stones, Cherokee, nations!
$150 for General Admission to your show at RRA? TF?!
Check ticket Master. I just bought tickets for GA in Chicago for $36.
Listening to you hundreds of times a day in floyd county
Holy. Shit.
I caught him live in Atlanta last year December 7th one of the only concerts I've ever been to that sounds exactly like the album incredible dude
Damn man, your vocals on this track are on point
Love the nod to rank stranger in this
There is a tear in mf*ckin’ 🍺!!!! LOL
Great song and album but this Album artwork is heavily Satanic
In the words of Tyler himself-"I didn't sign up to be a youth pastor".
Good thing satan is just a fictional character
Just don't play the album backwards.
Get outta here with those downvotes, you heathens.
Your a pure lyrical genius
Can not stop playing this. Gospel.
This song killed it at pick a thon . Man it was a pleasure to see u play Tyler.. thanks for coming to Oregon.. come back soon
Shit he was in Oregon where at?
The 11 people who disliked this must have been so drunk they were seeing double and hit the wrong button on accident. Only possible explanation.
...My bad
Tried to giver 2 thumbs up 🤪

"He knew not their name and he knew not their faces" tribute to Rank Stranger by stanley brothers
I know where I'm going next lol. Thanks.
That is awesome. I am really good at hearing things like this usually and picking them out. I wasn't familiar with Rank Stranger. Most Recently, My wife was listening to a moron marris song and I said: This is 9 to 5 by Dolly. Then I played it and it was spot on.
Glad I'm not the only one who knows this
Rank Strangers and Ralph Stanley, my favorite song
You and colter wall saving country music

You're my favorite. Day in and day out all I listen to is your music. I've been following for years now
“And for everyone you meet, there's a whole mess of people
Tryin' like hell to pull you on down
To the level they're on and the trouble they're tendin'
In the mess that they've made, in the gutter they found”
Unbelievable lyrics
Right On Point.
You think that's good, you should hear some of his other stuff. I feel like most of these songs off this album are bubble gum for the brain compared to his old stuff, but I'm starting to warm up to it a little.
The best words ever wrote
