Tyler Childers - Coming Down Lyrics
Don't you wish that you could go back sometimes
Don't you wish that you could go back home
Tryin' to remember just where it was
Remember you ain't alone
Remember you ain't alone
Every day's another pointless job
And every night's another lonesome song
Tryin' to remember when your bed wasn't leather
And you were the one singin' along
Lord, where did we go wrong
Now the sky is coming down
Can't you see the stars fallin'
Have yourself another round
Til you can't hear the darkness callin'
There was a good man in the makin' once
In the light of yesterday
Tryin' to remember just who he was
Tryin' like hell to recall his name
Well it used to be my name
Now the sky is coming down
Can't you see the stars fallin'
Have yourself another round
Til you can't hear the darkness callin'
Til you can't hear the darkness call you

Tyler Childers Coming Down Comments
Fucking beautiful!
I feel this describes my life and my failures so perfectly. It hurts so bad, but I can't stop listening. It perfectly describes the destruction of my marriage. Damn
❤🔥
Tyler is my all time favorite! Another ol Kentucky boy doing big things in this cold world! Much love from Harlan County KY
have yourself another round ,,, till you cant hear the darkness calling ..
This isn't his song guys his buddy John R Miller wrote it and he covered it. Go check him out worth a listen.
Huge fan of john's
Tyler has a voice that can make any cover his own song
I love and hate this song because it punches me right through the heart. Thank you Tyler.
IV been thinking about what could have been and it's been pretty heavy on me and my older brother played me this song and told me I wasn't alone.( Now I know Tyler childers) but IV never paid attention to this songs lyrics till early last night and I cried and hugged him for the first time in my 23 years of life and no words needed to be said. I'll never forget that moment.
Tyler is amazing. But this is john Miller's song. Tyler is just covering. I k ow it dont make much of a difference, just feel bad for john getting no credit for such a beautiful song.
John miller wrote this wonderful song but TC really brings it to life with depth & emotion i think. This man is a generational talent cant wait to see him in phoenix this fall. Id like to hear his version of 'where did you sleep last night' originally by muddy waters(?) Then later curt cobain. He feels like cobain in ways
Please don't forget this fantastic cover was originally written and performed by John R. Miller from Tyler's east neighboring state, West Virginia! Check out his tunes!
remember you aint alone.....brother.
This , Harvest and Born Again are my fave TC songs. They are followed very closely by a hundred other of your impeccably crafted tunes. We are so incredibly lucky to witness the rise of a fucking genius. Thanks brother!
I used to work with him.... He's a down to earth guy that isn't afraid of hard work....He oncetold everyone in the shop he "plays a little bit of guitar" such a humble guy lol.....
Keep it up Tyler! Much love from WV
this song was written by John R. Miller .. check him out too ;-)
I truly believe tyler is starting a new era of music nobody has witnessed yet. He covers songs better than the originator ....
Colter wall also, they both sing from deep inside
@Christian Leahy Indeed
Breaking news!!! Tyler Childers fixes stupid. Love you tunes man
Trying to remember just where it was.....have yourself another round.. until you can't hear the darkness... calling. Epic.!!!
My favorite song hands down
This speaks to my life, thank you! A musician that can take you to a moment in life is true inspiration.
My favorite
If I could put into words how i feel this is the man that translates it
song was actually written by John R Miller! Definitely check him out :)
ohdarling95 thank you!!!
Construction worker approved.
United States Sailor approved... what I wouldn't do to go back and make it right
Jet engine mechanic approved! Speaks to the soul whether it's a cover or not.

Damnit man, this one broke me.
Bed wasn't leather....
From eastern Ky and I just wanted to tell you how badass and soulful your music is. Real music is what your putting out. Keep it up.
10 seconds into this song and an overwhelming peace settled in my mind. Thanks again, Tyler.
Funny how it hits people differently. This one breaks me down..
All ur music hits home... thank you!
Praying for 42 lost souls!
Tyler Childress is a modern philosopher with words that are capable of opening closed minds that were long given up on and expresses emotions most people can't put in words.
He didn't write this song. John R Miller did, but I still agree with you.
Very well put.
I wouldn't say he's a philosopher but he is an excellent song writer!
Amber Frazier Your comment is intriguing. I'm wondering what concepts you feel Tyler's lyrics open people up to. I'm not trying to be argumentative or sarcastic, I'm genuinely interested in your point of view. Tyler's an amazing artist who definitely breaks the mold in his genre, but what sets him apart in my eyes is his raw emotional energy and honesty. I get the feeling that everything I'm hearing from him, both musically and lyrically, comes straight out of his soul without a filter. He doesn't come across as if he's trying to present an image which stands in sharp contrast to the majority of musicians these days. It really seems like he allows the music to naturally flow out of himself and this is something that can't be faked. This is what makes him truly authentic. I get the same vibe from his lyrics. I don't get the impression that he's trying to be particularly stylistic, I think he's just being blatantly honest about how he's been affected by different situations in his life. His lyrics aren't entirely limited to personal circumstances, though. He talks about strife, loss etc. in a broader sense as well. Sorry for rambling, lol. I'll reiterate: What concepts do you think Tyler opens people up to? I'm also really interested to know who you're referring to in particular when you referenced the "closed minds that were long given up on."
Best music ever ❤️ I love everything he sings❤️
Aaaaahhhhh who needs a name ne how
Estill county boy rocking out to some TC we will keep representing a guy who lived in estill as he goes far which he well deserves it rock on bro.
I like to imagine that he's saying "til you can't hear the darkness, Colin," and singing this just for me.
Words & music by John R. Miller.
The internet as a general whole is quite forgetful when it comes to letting you know who wrote the damned song.
Thank you
I was waiting for this comment. I knew it was a cover I just didnt know who did it. Thank you
John R Miller is an incredible song writer.
@Andy Theriault He sure is! Gonna see him tomorrow in Shepherdstown !
On repeat. 💙
I feel you this is story of my life
You and you’re music are truly a blessing man. Your songs hit the soul and I believe thats how things oughta be. Thank you for making real music again, you’re doing great.
agreed!!
really wish I could find the chords for this somewhere this song in incredible
Nash Brace ultimate-guitar.com and they have an app it’s where I get all my chords and where I found this one
It's in B major but he has a capo on the 4th fret.. playing G,D,Em,D,Am,G.(first verse)
G,C,G,D,G,G7,C,D,Am,G..hope that helps
It's by John Miller try searching with his name instead of Tyler's
when he sings its like hes speaking straight to my soul
Has anyone ever been reading comments and said dang I wish I wrote that? Like if you have
I keep coming back for more off Tyler and hit like on my own comments before I see that I wrote them. 😍 This guy's that good.
You did write it,
Anyone know the chords?
Basic e c f but you gotta hammer
And the f isnt a barred f it's a f sharp major
He's in B major but capo on the 4th playing G-D-C progression with Em and Am in there too..
Search it under John Miller instead of Tyler childers. It's a cover, that's why it's hard to find chords for this one.
Danny Dunn Danny is right
Your a legend red...
Amen. And Amen.
Such an amazing cover, Tyler kills it
Who sings the original
@kyle walsh John R. Miller :)
Tyler fucking Childers... You need to come to San Antonio
This needs more to listen to it. Speaks to my soul.
