My girl sent me this song because it's one of her favorites. I have a lot of favorites in r&b but Trey Songz is not included.
Each part of the song is an imitation of a different great artist. Starts off hitting a Michael Jackson note in the first 30 seconds followed by classic Trey Songz imitation of R.Kelmy, then goes into a little bit of falsetto over guitar2:55- which is reminiscent of Prince. The whole thing lacks character. Just little Snippets of possibilities that never got fully developed in the arrangement and the production. He's talented but far from fully developed and mature as an artist. Respect your coaches and elders; and it shows.
James Brown-Michael Jackson-Chris Brown. That line-up has continuity. There's tons of greats out there as well. Trey Songs is too predictible for me.
