Nice! But I still say FYP crushed this song! I prefer their version over the original, one of those rarities when the cover is better than the original.

@suzannejenk Well I learnt something new... thanks! Though I still think they used this melody from the Hymn since it is about a Vicar.

@TheMrYin Actually... it was originally Simple Gifts, a Shaker dance song by Joseph Brackett written in 1848 and made famous by Aaron Copland when he used the melody in his ballet Appalachian Spring written in 1944. THEN, some bloody Brit stole it and wrote Lord of the Dance in the late 60s.

    awesome :) :) :)

@Micronuck Lord of the Dance is a hymn from 1967... and this song uses the same tune if you listen. So they did a song about a "Vicar" to the tune of a famous "Hymn". Get it?

  11. M.... N....

@TheMrYin Thats from Lord of the Dance from the Dubliners

  12. A.... ....

  13. D.... ....

  14. M.... Y....

Dance, dance, wherever you may be.
I am the lord of the dance, said he,
And I lead you all, wherever you may be
And I lead you all in the dance, said he!

Awesome to do this song with that subject, sounding like a hymn!
