  1. S.... S....

    Sounds like The National

  2. B.... K....

    Holy shit.

  3. #.... H....

Been listening to this song since the album came out and only now hearing the subtle leornard Cohen influence

  4. D.... H....

    Right in the feels...every time

  5. H.... M....

I bought this album when it came out in 2016, but couldn’t bring myself to listen to it, as I knew what it was, and I lost my father to cancer two years prior. Two years later, in 2018, I lost my mother and decided the day of that it was time. It took about 30 seconds into the first song to completely break down. But it helped. It still helps. Sometimes you wish you could reach out and thank these people and know that they know what their art has done for your personal growth and healing through the hardest things you’ve had to endure. So I hope they see this and know what they’ve done for me.

  6. K.... O....

Damn that album was a masterpiece

  7. E.... G....

I don't really like any of their other songs, but this one is gold.

  8. k.... c....

this band exists within a genre that people tend to grow out of as they age, but it was always clear that they were attempting to transcend that kind of disconnect. these are topics that young adults can relate to, but in an intellectual enough way that they can hold on to it. and, because the death of a loved one is something that people experience several times in the course of their life, i think this particular record may become somewhat of a coping mechanism for a percentage of people that come across it.

it's certainly a more commercial record, and it does suffer from this somewhat. i do prefer their other material. but, this may end up being the more substantive release to a greater number of people. there's an inherent seminality hard-coded into it.

they're due for something new, aren't they?

  9. n.... o....

    Soul crushing.

  10. A.... ....

Only heard about this band last week (my best friend recommended them) and they haven't yet ceased to truly amaze me -I started with "Green" and have systematically consumed their albums one by one...I like "Honest Sleep" "Suckerfish" "Flowers and You" "Amends" and a few others I can't recall the name of at this exact moment.

It's important o understand, I'm almost 30 and have been through the ringer with the world of bands and genres...heaviness abounds between the industrial I grew up with, the metalcore (death, black, and a variety of other genres in between, etc.) in my teen years, and all the brutal heaviness that came with it into adulthood..Been to dozens of shows too, so I'm pretty well inducted into this world of genres and sub genres...

BUT this band has truly touched me in ways few RARELY do...It's also rare for me personally to listen to a song(s) from a band/musician that have the near-instantaneous effect of making me cry the first go around....Touché Amore has achieved that.

So, to this band, I say THANK YOU for helping me to feel something again.

P.S. I know I'm WAY late to the party, but this music has come to me at precisely the right moment in life...I've been having a variety of troubles and emotional/psychological turmoils the past year and Jermey's words, as simple, honest, and straight forward as they often are, have really broken through this despair I've been in to help me find something true about myself - a strength I'd disregarded for a long time. In that regard, I found something I can relate to and that gives me comfort because of this band. So, once again, Touché Amore, THANK YOU.

  11. R.... T....

    absolutely crushing

  17. I.... W....

  18. T.... Z....

  19. H.... M....

This record made me feel so much from the moment he said he couldn't listen to the last message she left for him to that voicemail ending the record...... where is their grammy?!

  20. d.... ....

what's the story behind that wheelchair?

    d.... ....

His mom passed away in October 2014. But that's only what I understood about the wheelchair.

    d.... ....

Before his mother passed away from cancer, Jeremy and his brother took their mother to New York, a city that she had always wanted to visit. But since she was sick, they pushed her around on a wheelchair, because she probably couldn't walk any significant distances. So Jeremy is in this video metaphorically strolling his mother around, and that is why he leaves the wheelchair there at the end, he is letting her go.

    d.... ....

@Arian hmn Oh my god...I knew about the cancer...but GODDAMN I think my heart just broke a little more reading this...Damn Touched Amore is such a good band :,)

  21. I.... ....

this has left me feeling all sorts of ways for days now. this song is able to capture his deepest emotions of love and despair. Honest, Heart wrenching, a beautiful tribute.

Such a gorgeous song, their best album yet

  43. A.... J....

what a great choice for a backup vocalist

    A.... J....

Asad Javed bruh I just found out it was Julien Baker today. She’s definitely gotten huge and made amazing singles since this, crazy good.

  44. J.... V....

Gonna be the song for a new American horror story season lol

  45. I.... G....

I was playing this and my girlfriend thought it was The National.

    I.... G....

It reminds me of The National as well!

    I.... G....

Ivy Gray reminds me of Interpol when they were good

    I.... G....

Jeremy is a big fan of The National, so there could definitely be some inspiration in this song

  46. s.... ....

I'm not sure about this. I see everyone talking this up like it's an amazing piece of work but all I hear is something mediocre some christian band would shit out.

    s.... ....

Its pretty slow and avante garde. Some bands have such a variety of sounds they wanna get out, not all of the ideas appeal their fans. I thought this was a really emotional 6/10 song. For the band I'm sure it has more meaning

  47. T.... G....

First half is lame. 2nd half is pretty dope.

  48. E.... G....

    Sounds like kagoule

  49. G.... D....

Lyrics are so amazing :'( till I cry (y)

  50. S.... R....

    reminds me of the national.

    S.... R....

    couldn't agree more!!

  51. S.... F....

can someone explain me the empty wheelchair? Not listening to Touché Amoré,but this song is pure epic.!

    S.... F....

"about the time Bolm took his mother to New York, a city she’d always wanted to see. A few months before she died, Bolm and his brother pushed her around Manhattan in a wheelchair."

    S.... F....

Jeremy's mother (vocal) lose the fight against cancer, you can figure out wahts going on.

  52. D.... E....

This is a beautiful video not because I am from NY it just is.

  53. F.... M....

Absolutely touching, both the song and the video. Hits really hard.

  54. F.... S....

The moment when he leaves the wheelchair..... my heart shrinks.

    F.... S....

I got chills when I saw that...

  55. T.... F....

Not what I expected from TA, but really good song in its own right

    Atop the skyscraper
    One hundred and two floors
    New York City
    It was yours
    It's yours

You live there, under the lights
You live there, under the lights
You live there, under the lights
    You live there

    Below the busy streets
    We watched your dreams unfold
    New York City
    It all yours
    It's yours

You live there, under the lights
You live there, under the lights
You live there, under the lights
    You live there

You live there, under the lights
You live there, under the lights
You live there, under the lights
You live there, under the lights
You live there, under the lights

  60. B.... ....

    Amazing.

  61. L.... ....

Beautiful, I'm so glad to be living in this day and age. I just wish they would tour New Zealand instead of Australia every single time :(

  62. d.... ....

You live there, under the lights...

  63. N.... J....

Do you hear his pain, thoughts, longing, and love all in one starting at 2:31? Deepest song from TA that will ever be written.

    N.... J....

literally cried the first time listening to the song once 2:31 hit.

    N.... J....

    same here

    N.... J....

    Nicholas Jay

    N.... J....

    Nicholas Jay 2'31?

    N.... J....

He puts EVERYTHING into it live, truly great to witness.

  64. i.... ....

This somehow reminds me of Life Is Strange

  65. J.... R....

    UuU🎶

  66. j.... y....

too soft and not dark enough for them

    j.... y....

    Hush. It's beautiful

    j.... y....

I don't mind anymore because the rest of the album was amazing

    j.... y....

The whole thing is beautiful, including this song lol

    j.... y....

it's because it's an hommage to his mom, the final track of the album had to be something special. the lyrics page of Genius explains this very well and how he got his inspiration for this song from Leonard Cohen and the National. really love the song

    j.... y....

If you thought that then I think you're missing the point of the whole album to be honest. This is very much an album track, one that is supposed to be listened to as part of the whole album and it rounds it off nicely. The album is full of emotion, it's not always anger or darkness, there's a mix.

  67. A.... P....

Is it just me or does he sound like the yellow guys from don't hug me I'm scared?

  68. J.... L....

such an amazing song, does any one know if Jeremy is the one singing?

    J.... L....

i think so! he does the clean vocals on palm dreams, so it likely that he did these too. (-:

    J.... L....

Jack Ludwick the singers name is Julien Baker. You should check her stuff out it's fucking great

    J.... L....

Lexa Woods Julien is an absolute goddess! She was in a band in high school called The Star Killers and you can find their album on bandcamp it’s an absolute masterpiece!!

  69. G.... ....

i admire jeremy so much for writing these songs. the hurt must be unbearable

    G.... ....

I know, you really gotta feel for this guy after all he's been through..there's just such a sense of honest sincerity in his words - it's the kind that's gotten rarer and rarer these days, especially when it comes to song lyrics...

  70. F.... M....

Different but regardless still amazing. This new album is gonna be great.

  71. L.... P....

This is a beautiful video, an amazing tribute and a spine-chilling way to end a meaningful album.

    L.... P....

its not the last song tho?

    L.... P....

David Martinez there's a bonus track. This song was the official closer

    L.... P....

+Alec Ramsey forsure thanks man i wasn't aware of that
