This is more like the sound of a bunch of Wankers on a stage.. TWATS
I like this band from the MTV generation of the early 80's thank you YouTube.
Another forgotten classic.
'Drums are quite good, the bass is too loud and I can't hear the lyrics', bloody brilliant. I met the guitarist in the blue shirt in a bar near Cobham, Surrey, he was a nice bloke.
Playing the Hope and Anchor in Islington, this Thursday 19th Dec 2019 ...

Tune 👍🏻
Good old Mr. Tesco with his classic schoolboy barnet, dodgy jacket and death defying dance moves. And he's a long lost Leningrad Cowboy and top chap to boot.
Wore my single out on repeat!

Me too. 💛 i remember the song But now seeing the singer I felt like I know him from somewhere else another band
I grew up in camberley in the 1970s and this was our song about our little corner of the world Heathrow's jets, ascot line station announcement, and the Monday morning broadmoor siren. Perfect.

I’ve never felt this feeling from any other type of genre and I’m so glad I’ve found punk in my life (please I’m begging you comment below songs that’s a need to listen to )
Ya telling me. At 52 I often look at modern music and younsters today and think, "I'm so glad I was brought up on a healthy dose of punk and ska". Not in a bitter way, each to their own, but it was special and got me through emigrating to Vancouver, Canada from Newcastle at 14. My singles and albums were my only friends for the first few months and wouldn't change a thing and didn't. Still got a Geordie accent to this day. Stubborn old get.

It was definitely a "let's start a band" era
My youth. Feeling sentimental.
Heard this on John Peel and bought it the next day from Woolworths. Clear vinyl too. Ruddy marvellous!

@TT 7inch single came in clear vinyl and the title was etched, no stuck on logo.
First song I pogod to at the local youth club
I saw them live when I was a Herbert, I think I was about 11 but the student union loved to get us pissed. It was Exeter in Devon. Pinpoint supported them. I thought they were better but I was lagged. Fuck those were the days
Oh what a misspent youth I had
Sounds better each time I hear it. 79 loves on.
Punk no new wave no, good tune yes
This is a theme tune when I was 18 years old in 1980, also a colleague at work told me I was once too much like Terry and June (UjK Comedy Gold), where are you now Mr Phil Blinker Fraser ?.
That riff still does things to me after about the 500th time of listening to it
This is still great
WHEN ENGLAND FELT LIKE ENGLAND.
You've got that spot on what ever happened
This is fucking quality.
the b-side was better......solitary confinement
I got it sussed................................
I'm 54 and this brings back memories
I'm 54 too👍
..and me
Born 1950, my teen years in the 60's, then what I called the pop depression years in the early 70's, and then this in '79. Thank f**k.
FUCKIN CLASS PUNK FUCKIN ROCK !!!!
pity they did fuck all after this ,,
probably the best punk song ever written!!!
One of many classic anthems that came from that time, but I know exactly what you mean. Great that it hasn't been forgotten and that a lot bands are still playing to tjis day in one form or another. Going to see The Specials next month and see a sweaty 52 year old t-shirt night ahead. Long may it all continue.
Sound of the suburb? Back then. Sunday lunch with the family instead of going to McDonalds these days and totally forgetting family values.
Is this Marco Pirroni on bass ?
No its Chris Payne he still plays in the members
wasnt he in adam and the ants?
Wat a tune if we only knew then wat it was gonna be like this we maybe could have done some thing
love the uk subs
Got ant u its sunday the 1st July
Still gives me goose bumps as I reach to turn the volume to max for this
ye ha great times
C L A S S !👍
Any tutorials for this song on guitar?
I had forgotten how good this is!
ive known this song since it came out in 1980.ive never seen the vid to it.&ive heard it a million times...aswll
Brilliant football music love it
Not a year ago, last comment. SOOOO GOOOD>>>>>
I had this on clear vinyl - which was pretty special back then!!
Yeah me too mate, if i remember right it did,nt have a label on the record but the name of band and song was scratched onto it :)
fantastic track ! blows the roof of pop at that time ! made punk the sound of the times !
Loved the Members ever since I discovered them 1980.
Thank John Peel for that.
Legend.
JP the legend! RIP
And the Broadmoor siren still goes off 10am every Monday morning.
Grew up in their area i know what they mean about that broadmoor siren 10 am every monday
I was 14 when this came out and it's still one of fav tracks.
Very cool to see The Members headlining the 100 Club last night!
This song was dated even before it was released - Punk had already moved on
Bunch of yobs
i remember having this 7" that was see through & loved playing it
Punk at it's best
I suppose it kept them off the streets for a bit
I have this single somewhere on clear vinyl no label just completely clear, with a cutout in the sleeve like a TV so you can see thru the record and thru the cut out to the back of the sleeve to where there is like a suburban scene if memory serves me, all my singles are away in a cupboard somewhere, haven't looked at them for years.
the height of technology...clear vinyl. happy days.
This is weird, I relate to this so much. Haha, I think I like this punk music, like manly playing power chords and all that, I wanna start a band like that haha.
I seem to remember him saying he 17 jobs by the time he was 20.
still rocking
