in the verse where it goes "*iv'e been kind you told me*, you would love no one but me. " he is actually saying *often time's you told me* you would love no one but me" the lyric *iv'e been kind you told me* was a mishearing that was printed in linear notes for the lyrics when it was released, and just continued to be cited as the true verse. but it is clear from listening to other versions *and just listening to this and even live versions that he is saying *often times you told me*

This makes more sense, and it makes me think the next line was ciited incorrectly as well: "...though it's the first time I met you..." could be "I know this the first time I met you..."
