Man these guys are the epitome of how a band should sound especially live. If anything Tool sounds better live. There's a bite to their music the studio just can't capture. One of the best riffs ever laid down on tape for sure.

I don`t think they sound special. All their songs sounds almost the same and their play rythm is just weird...the lyrics...i`m not an english native speaker but i just hear mumbling.
A Perfect Circle is the better version of Tool

@DerHalbeEuro hmmm. Probably would be a better experience if you were an english speaker first and foremost. For example, chinese sounds like slurring and mumbling to me but to another chinese speaker it might sound perfect. I will admit that their rhythm is always weird. It's like they have a rule where they can't stick with a beat for 10 seconds, so whenever you try to keep on time, you're really thrown off. They make it work somehow though.

It is just different from their older stuff, just like all musicians change and grow. The new album is very atmospheric rather than hard hitting. It's still good :)

@Fat Bob I thought of this being released as a single because of the riffs. The song just feels very radio friendly to me, at least for Tool. Out of their music, I hear this one playing in my head the most. Maybe that's why, I don't know.
