2 of the members were in Sheila E's band in 1986 for her 3rd Paisley Park album when Prince disbanded the Revolution and pulled her as his drummer -breaking up her band as well. I think Sheila E tried to get Tony Toni Tone signed to Paisley Park, but it didn't happen or they didn't want it.
