Tony Bennett - Who Can I Turn To Lyrics

Who can I turn to when nobody needs me?
My heart wants to know and so I must go where destiny leads me
With no star to guide me and no one beside me
I'll go on my way and, after the day, the darkness will hide me

And maybe tomorrow I'll find what I'm after
I'll throw off my sorrow, beg, steal, or borrow my share of laughter
With you I could learn to, with you what a new day
But who can I turn to if you turn away?

With you I could learn to, with you what a new day
But who can I turn to if you turn away?

Truly a great song by one of the best.

  6. S.... S....

Great tune. Bennett has a great voice. Who is the orchestra conducter?

  7. m.... c....

  8. M.... H....

    Outstanding.......ticks all the boxes.

  10. J.... B....

    So beautiful.

  11. R.... M....

Glad he's alive, he is a great artist, I met a legend in NYThere will never be another - what a voice after all this time he's such a star even now! Thankful for these times - we live among greats not many left today.

  12. P.... W....

Great arrangement and magnificent vocal! These 'cats' had the privilege of singing their songs 'live' with a full orchestra in the studio (no tracking like today). Wow!!!

  13. V.... G....

Lovely video, thanks so much for sharing. If you get a minute, please stop by my channel and take a listen my original music. I hope you enjoy.

  14. J.... O....

    Primo Tony, whooosh.

  15. F.... R....

Casino brought me here when Sam fights Ginger in the diner, good thing & glad that didn't cause an audience of spectators watching them.

  16. M.... W....

Tony"s rendition of this beautiful song has no peer! What a brilliant singer and he gets me everytime! He and Judy Garland are in a class by themselves!

    M.... W....

I agree completely. By the way, both Bennett and Sinatra have said Judy Garland was the best ever.

    M.... W....

I know that both of said that and Judy truly is one of the if not the greatest singer of 20th Century!

  17. J.... D....

Wish he hadn't totally given up singing beautiful, slow ballads such as this & San Francisco. Got to see him in SF in a very smsll venue. WOW, so incredible in person, and charisma? He was so blessed with talent, then turned neArly entirely to jazz, clipped words which hid his gorgeous voice. Still think he's a great talent but prefer his slower songs of long ago 😆

  18. j.... m....

I love this smooth style of Bennett and remember this song as a 10 year old in 1966. But the version by Sammy Davis Jr really does it for me.

    j.... m....

I grew up listening to a largely unknown version by Dan Smith out of Champaign/Urbana, IL, I think. Just him and a piano, very raw recording in Sal Martirano's studio, I think. Maybe '66 or '68? It's my favorite, but I only had it on a cassette tape and can't find it anywhere. Anyway, Sammy's is the closest to my tastes too since I lost the tape.

  19. R.... W....

I first heard him sing this on a vinyl LP of his greatest hits which I purchased circa 1965. It has always been my favorite. Thanks for posting!

  20. Y.... N....

Thank you this song made for me😂 no matter what country you are? if you like music? these artist the best top singers. love💝🌹peace🌴🌲🌳☀for him"

  21. A.... ....

those early 1960s Tony Bennett Lps are the best. Then he changed to a jazz style i could never get used to...

  22. T.... R....

The great Tony Bennett at his best singing this beautiful song ... and for my money the best version !

    T.... R....

also very good the Barbra Streisand Anthony Newley duet .

  23. A.... W....

    Just simply amazing talent,
    : )

    A.... W....

+Diozark Try listening to Jack Jones, you will love his voice!

    A.... W....

I did and it does not come even close to the Tony Benedetto version!

  24. N.... S....

This is cool and Sammy Davis jrs version is pretty cool too

  25. S.... F....

This is magical and hypnotic singing. Bennett is here at his very best. The richness of his voice, the great feeling in changing timbre. The kind of singing that makes you wish to listen to it again and again.

  26. w.... ....

tender, empathetic, brilliant  arrangement--and Bennett sings in his trademark deep emotion and soaring lyricism which is untouchable in the pop singer world--this is a song one can return to again and again in life's passages/experiences/disappointments---

  27. i.... w....

1 of the few remaining all time great's that's left now. Long may that be the case.☺

  28. T.... C....

    great song

  29. s.... ....

  31. j.... P....

beautiful and shinnin .. like a nice pennie

  32. P.... C....

I don't know, who can I turn to when nobody needs me? :'(

    P.... C....

You can turn to the default you. The you, you were when you were born into the world-- a baby with pure innocence and the capacity to love and to be loved. Unfortunately, when we grow up because of the wounds of the heart we experience, we drift away from the default state. We protect ourselves. We bury our pains instead of crying them out. But you can be healed of your wounds and you can have the hopes of a little child again. You can love again by first loving yourself and recognizing your innate capacity to be happy. Once you have rediscovered your default state, you can love again.

    P.... C....

Since I posted this comment in July, I have been through a great number of emotional changes and the relentless pursuit of happiness. I understand what you have said and I completely agree. I do believe that, after all this time, I have discovered within myself my own person and I base my happiness off of fulfilling his desires.

That's great. And lets hope he treats you with respect and love, always building you up and cherishing you. You deserve it. Everyone deserves it.

    P.... C....

@PR Mesler Well said, my friend!

  33. d.... ....

he looks like Peter Sellers in this photo

    d.... ....

    +Dimitri Bitu LOL what???????

    d.... ....

Tony has the most exquisite profile, a handsome man.

  34. c.... ....

IMO this isprobably the best of all his recordings. When I saw him perform in  person in Hartford a couple months ago, I was hoping that he would sing this song, but he didn't.  He is 87 yrs. old and doesn't sing like he used to, but at that age he is still good.

    c.... ....

So this is what our generation has degraded to, an abundance of idiots who managed to squirm themselves to their way of a keyboard and type these ridiculous comments that are just breaking the English language.

  35. j.... ....

that's true...what you gonna do  When nobody needs you....

  36. C.... L....

I agree.  I saw the original play but this is more awsome than Anthony Newley's version.  Thank you.

  37. K.... O....

    Great song.

  38. m.... k....

who can I turn to if you go away, very sad, song, but I cannot stop listen it

  39. t.... ....

Could you do a vocal range for this wonderful artist?

  40. j.... a....

    I love your picture, thanks!

  41. f.... ....

love the picture and the original recording thanks!
