I love it! It shows the carelessness I dream of and I wish I was dancing on a field right now just like in this video! I cry every time I watch this, it's just so free and human. This video inspired me to not be afraid to dance just how I want without being worried about the quality of my moves because every dance move is a quality move if you're having fun! Tom you're one of my favorite artists ever, your songs and music videos are so relatable and real in some way, thank you!

this song is truly powerful

So this song is older and I’m not sure anyone will read this but I was just doing a project with the speech “A Left-Handed Commencement Address” by Ursula K. Le Guin and it reminded me of this song because they hold very contrasting messages. The speech encourages the women who graduate to willingly go to the dark place of failure and alienation and live there, instead of live denying the dark realities of others. She basically says that in that dark place woman can make their own home being there own person and perusing their passions rather than live following the rules of men in the bright day. Only by doing that would women pave their own way and eventually get to the day themselves. It was given to a graduating class in 1983 and it’s very powerful, I recommend looking it up!

This song is a masterpiece in my eyes.
The beginning is so slow and gentle, connecting to those in their dark places. Then the piano interjects. A spark of a happy area comes into picture.
The voiceover sounds a bit like a radio broadcast, too. As if we're listening to a survivor tell his story of going to a dark place in his life and returning, safe and happy, giving us hope that we can do the same.
The vocals about 58 seconds in sound a mix between serene song and weeping, letting us know it's okay to cry on the way to our happy road.
Then the bridge with the gibberish talk is when, for me at least, all the weight falls off my shoulders. Then the united singing "There is a dark place *but I'm not going there*" brings everyone together, all of us agreeing that we're going to do our best to be happy.
This song is just brilliant. Thank you so much.
