Joe Meek actually recorded Tom doing this song first but it was only released in America He then rerecorded it for Decca but it wasnt a hit as it lacked the power of his earlier attempt . This live recording on the opening night of BBC 2 is far superior to any of the previous recordings . .Great backing band too

Love this Man who went on to become The Greatest Singer on the Planet. There is no one who can compare to Mr Jones, he can sing anything, Rock, Soul, Blues and Ballads and knocks them right out of the water. Why is this Fantastic Singer in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame??????

Chris was also the drummer for the Firm with Jimmy Page & Paul Rodgers. I saw them live at UNO. They also had a young bass player. I can't recall his name but he was awesome.
