Todd Rundgren - Heaven's Falling Lyrics

I will believe what I want to believe
Nobody needs to do my thinking for me
I know the score, I'm always out of line
It's as if I was born at the wrong place and time
And nobody understands just what's in my mind
But when I face the light, somehow it all seems right

You know it feels like
Heaven's falling down on me
And I can hear them angels calling
Calling me

Speak your mind, you know you've got a right
You're not afraid, you're going with me tonight
Everybody stops to whisper and stare
'cause we're not afraid to do the things

They wouldn't dare
But they would never know the secrets we share
And when you squeeze my hand
I know you understand

This cannot work if lovers are fools
Schemers and dreamers who don't follow the rules
We got to run while our legs are still young
We got to run 'til our heaven comes
And when we face the light, somehow it all seems right

Don't you know it feels like
Heaven's falling down on me
And I can hear them angels calling
Calling me

Rundgren production adds the little something extra to this power rocking - are we loving this or what ?

    What a great album

Decent song and performance, but I think true fans know that this is precisely what derailed the band, and they really never recovered. Without that contrived garbage "The Flame" hitting number one, they probably never would have gotten Hall-inducted, even despite their first six albums being great, and the last three of those six being brilliant and highly influential.

Come on! This is nothing as bad as The Flame. They lost me for a long time with that claptrap.

The Flame is a great song, an excellent power ballad. And I say that as a massive fan of their 70s stuff. Heaven's Falling is also an exceptional song, that really should have been a single.

GLITTER DOGS. New music. Self produced and recorded 70's style rock!

This track is one of the really good ones off Next Position Please; Rundgren was a perfect fit to guide and produce this album for Cheap Trick. It's just a real good/feel good song! Good today as it was in '83.

One of the greatest songs ever! Would love to hear Todd's original demo. There has to be one.

No kidding. I'd love to hear Todd do this one.
