Toad The Wet Sprocket Don't Fade Comments
Best song ever.
This is such good music.
LOL. "Christian Rock" from a band of atheists and agnostics. hahahaha. where did that guy come from? here's a little backstory, this song was called "India Song" on the demo. it was written about an experience Glen and his then wife Laurel had while vacationing in India when they were swindled by a holy man who offered them the experience of a traditional holy prayer ceremony and the. wouldn't let them leave until they paid him. the song is Glen scolding the man for forsaking the god he represents. it's a song about the danger of false religion. not the love of it
No, this is not Christian rock.
not even remotely. lol
I am female so this probably does notapply to me
confusing comment. elaborate?

Flying kites and shouting to the world you are a soul..you are not invisible
Very well put,Dasha, thank you.Toad's music is too diverse to put a label on anyway.Rock,Folk,Easy Listening,Pop?,sometimes even country but Christian Rock is one description I'd never heard.Any music lover should get familiar with Toad's wide range of music and lyrics.Glen could sing a song about watching grass grow and make it interesting.Truly a God Given talent... yeah,I said it. ;-)
they are and you should check out the band Dada- you will like them
Anyone who knows Toad, has ever followed them, or has read an interview of Glen Phillips knows the band is in no way Christian Rock. Glen, the writer of the majority of the lyrics, considers himself a moral man but an agnostic who is eternally searching for the truth of what makes us who we are and is there something/someone higher. He is quite remarkable, and though I do not agree on everything, he puts out great thoughts to consider. The band, overall, were a huge part of my youth.
Christian Rock tends to be more open in the interpretation that God is glorious. But this song is different, in the sense that it doesn't talk specifically about God or belief for that matter, but these particular people who hold a dear strength in spirit, in faith which heals them. In a nutshell, Christian Rock is on the subject of God himself or belief. This song, like many other Toad songs is bringing up the matter of faith within people. Plus they sound completely different.
This band is so highly under rated its rediculous. Easily only of my top 10 bands of all time! And one of my favorite songs too. So emotional. Thanks for posting.
Dont lose your innocent heart
This is Christian Rock.
