Tiny Tim Then I'd Be Satisfied With Life Comments
I was in a band in the late '70s that covered this.
They should remaster this album, it really diserves it.
This song was written by the great George M. Cohan and the record was arranged by the great NY (And L.A.) arranger Artie Butler.
*K BUEN RITMO CSMTR*
the wolking of la
but i hit my grandma with a shovel *all the time*
how could you
I love you Tiny Tim!!!!
Lovely song.. that pedal steel sounds so good! I wish I could find out who played it.
As the album says, God Bless Tiny Tim <3
The album was arranged by (then) NY top arranger Artie Butler. He later arranged hundreds of hits including What A Wonderful World for Louis Armstrong, Copacabana for Barry Manilow and tons more. He said Tiny was great to work with and a very nice guy. So the pedal was probably played by a top New York studio musician.
Such a simple, funny, honest, and delightful song :)
Far and away the best track that the late Professor Khaury ever committed to record. He is greatly missed.
It sounds like he exclaims "Why, it's beautiful Miss Cleo!" at 2:26. lol
Galantski is clear???!!!
Some of the mixes on this album are bad and this song is an example. Vocal only coming out of the left speaker. Strawberry Tea is another. Both top songs that are not ruined but not enhanced either .
exactly
This song is from 1968... that stereo effect was deliberate-consider that it was meant to be heard on speakers, not headphones. Many '60s records in stereo are like this, personally I love the sound
I love this!
I wonder if Miss Vicky was jealous of Tuesday Weld?
At least he'd already recorded this album before he met Miss Vicky.
is he singing this ironically?
+john smith Its an old song... and I'm sure Tiny meant every word
john smith it's a genius little song. "all i want" tropes in country music are about the small things in life bringing fulfillment. Tiny Tim's parody of this style is like, nothing big just this and this and this-- all luxuries. thats the joke of it.
good grief..
I believe that the song was written by George M. Cohan.
@Francis Sophia Great explanation!
the first *oh tiny* he does gets me every time
That's Nico (of Velvet Underground fame), actually.
Love affair since '68!
Mark Wilhelm me too, when I was seventeen and I have loved everything about him ever since, my very favourite track has to be, ‘I’m A Lonesome Little Raindrop’!
Tuesday is mentioned in a bunch of songs. Musicians liked her:)
+Randy Ventresca Imagine if Tuesday Weld had married Fredrick March and they had a daughter, she would have been Tuesday March the 2nd..... :-)
Here he is ladies.
"Never hit your grandma with a shovel, it makes a bad impression on her mind." Wise, wise words, Mr. Tiny Tim. God bless you.
Tiny Tim is a very wise man
RetaliationGAMING13 Hey Nesbit!
Paul Newman sang "Never hit your mother with a shovel . . . . " as he rode off with Katherine Ross on his bicycle - in BUTCH CASSIDY.
Thank you! This has always been one of my favorites.
