  6. J.... H....

I love this song even though I was born 2008

  7. S.... M....

I used to love Tiny Tim when I was a child, all throughout the seventies. A joy to listen to.

  8. T.... ....

    Who the fuck disliked this?

    T.... ....

Bowie made a better version, so it might be them

  9. C.... F....

One of his best vintage songs. When he sung it straight, he showed how much talent as a vocalist he had. Wish were less novelty songs and more like this one.

  10. D.... ....

I love singing Tip Toe while playing my ukulele.
It drives my dad nuts but I still love doing it. Lol

    he was great

What a great orchestra is backing Tim on this. Powerful arrangement. Tim proves on this song that he had quite a good voice when he played it straight. (David Bowie covered this also. Originally written by Biff Rose).

    J.... L....

John LaStrada I love Bowies and Tims both versions. I can't pick which one I like more because there both got there different sounds

    J.... L....

I'm partial to Tiny Tim's version for for two reasons Joe: compared to "Tip Toe..." he sings this more straight, serious, and with quite a good voice which gives people an indication of just how good he could be with more serious material. Also, at that time Reprise Records was using a studio orchestra that was marvelous. I think this orchestra was also on some of Sammy Davis, Jr.'s records (I"ve Gotta Be Me," "Bein' Natural, Bein' Me) -- recorded the same year. The orchestra part -- the arrangement -- is great and full sounding. Bowie's version is fine as well -- not as campy -- but, maybe a little too straight. I enjoy both like you do. Two different interpretations. The song itself is a lost classic.

    J.... L....

David’s Cover is more campy to this. I take this interpretation way more seriously

I love Tiny Tim, everyone finds it strange, though I understand because I'm a 13 year old girl and my taste in music is strange.. I like Tiny Tim, Melanie Martinez, Green Day, some Beatles songs and a lot of modern pop songs.

+Blob Fish I know exactly this feel...

When I bought this album way back in 1968 this tune always stuck in my mind. I heard it again on David Bowie's "Hunky Dory" lp. A great tune by both!

    M.... G....

Mitchell Galinkin, I just learned that the song was written by Paul Williams, if you know who he is.

    M.... G....

The song was written by Paul Williams AND Biff Rose. Biff Rose recorded the original, which you can easily find here on youtube. Worth a listen, you can hear how much Bowie was influenced by Biff. Another Biff Rose song that Bowie covered live many times was "Buzz the Fuzz". Both songs are on "The Thorn in Mrs. Rose's Side".

  15. M.... L....

This sounds almost exactly like it'd be something from PIPPIN.

  16. A.... ....

I played this song over and over when I was a kid. He was 'weird' but also wonderfully unique and...free.
