Tin Machine Crack City Comments
  1. P.... ....

The black suits were a mistake. 80s cliche. If a deliberate one then the music should at least have been ahead of the times. There's no suggestion that Bowie knows Britpop like The Stone Roses until Tin Machine II..

    P.... ....

Nope cool, being smartly dressed is a good thing ! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤡🤡🤡🌍🌍🌍

    P.... ....

Yes but you don't have to be dressed like an undertaker. A style choice possibly wrapped in some irony I'm sure (particularly in retrospect as Bowie's solo album after Tin Machine II contained the term 'Black Tie') but these artsy mind games, if it was one, just confused people, in the UK at least, in general in the early 90s, where, if a band is playing a certain type of music, we don't want or expect them to have the image of a cocktail bar waiter who moonlights as a pianist.

    P.... ....

Picnicl I suggest you watch the film reservoir dogs (1991-2) and adjust your attitude to this style. It also harks back to the Beatles early days. You must be a dumb millennial who doesn’t realise that pop stars were smartly dressed in the early days. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤡🤡🤡🤡🌍🌍🌍🌍

    P.... ....

I was born in 1978 so I'm not a millenial. Even if you disagree with my point, surely you should reason that someone talking over the sartorial style of a Bowie project is unlikely to be dumb. The Beatles didn't wear black suits by the way. I accept your point about Reservoir Dogs and your implication that they either wanted to be smart like previous decades or just smart anyway. I'm just pointing out that I think that, at that PARTICULAR time, it didn't gel well with music buyers in general because it made a band whose sound wasn't austere seem incongruously austere. It's public perception that I'm speculating rather than the band's right to dress a certain way.

    P.... ....

Picnicl the Beatles wore suits dumb ass! You clearly missed reservoir dogs in 1991, so cultural wise Bowie was spot on wearing those suits! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤡🤡🤡🌍🌍🌍

I'm so proud of Bowie for speaking out clearly about his own cocaine addiction that nearly killed him & reaching out to everyone with addictions honestly & quite frankly pissed off... He was sad the time he lost addicted & so glad he wrote this & unashamedly put this out there for all to hear 💛💛💛💛

  8. c.... b....

bowie made more sense than all of the popes through history collective burblings

  9. K.... C....

I feel the 2 Tin Machine albums are really good, very excellent in fact. Saw the tour in San Francisco...way way good. Like...super good!

  10. T.... A....

I almost feel like my father gave me this album when i was 13 so i wouldn't get into rock and roll.
by the time i was old enough to procure my own copy of station to station i cut him out of my life, and finally actually listened to this record.

  11. p.... ....

love this album and the next

  17. b.... s....

This is the sound of Tin Machine. Raw rock and roll

  18. S.... M....

Bowie totally doing Helter Skelter. Nothing to do with the Stooges

    S.... M....

Finally someone with sense. Exactly on the money . Totally helter skelter . Beautiful homage.

  19. P.... H....

Tin Machine - overlooked for nearly 30 years cos David Bowie wanted to be just the singer in the band - this track is brilliant, lyrics from his heart as he'd been there

  20. T.... E....

wer is hier von barca xD

    T.... E....

    Zimbelman Lol ich

    T.... E....

  21. j.... s....

  22. B.... ....

Sadly I used to play this one when I was in my own self-destructive years. Crack City was not a fun place to visit.

  23. b.... ....

takes a few minutes to kick in and then you find your freak.

  24. R.... C....

Rest in peace you mad genius of rock and roll!!! Love!

  25. R.... C....

    Fucking fantastic!!!

  26. P.... S....

This is better than I'd been led to believe.

    P.... S....

Tin Machine are amazing ,got generally slated by the music press .

  27. F.... ....

Tin Machine was certainly a good move in separating himself from Tonight and Never Let Me Down (two efforts Bowie derided), but it was nothing seminal or ground breaking in his attempt to regain his "creative voice." Better as therapy than art, for lyrically, musically, and melodically it's most straight forward rock.

    F.... ....

If he had gone for a bit rougher production and sound, it would have been amazing. The album's production was too clean and polished, but that was the norm at the time.

    F.... ....

Agreed. Restricting Hunt Sales with this album's production?

  28. s.... ....

i can imagine screaming trees covering this song.

  29. t.... ....

"They're just a bunch of a$$holes, with buttholes for their brains". rock-n-roll poetry.

    t.... ....

Don't look at me you fuckhead

    t.... ....

He wrote this, I think, bcs of his cocaine addiction when he was a younger man, and to tell/warn others.. ❤ Bowie

    t.... ....

    Piss on the icon monsters.

  30. M.... ....

AND NOW A MASTER PASSES ON. He belongs the ages now. LOVE FOREVER, Mr. Bowie!!

  31. t.... ....

    Bowie rockin' it. RIP.

  32. r.... k....

    Crack city? crack city?

  33. E.... H....

Man...SPACEFACE plays apparently the Bud Light addict looks down on the acidhead who looks down on the pothead who looks down on the snorter of anything who look down on the speedfreak who looks down on the crack user. This is 180° opposite of SCARY MONSTERS (AND SUPER CREEPS) single. This lacks a sympathy and an empathy LOU REED might protest. Allows speculation SPACEFACE was immolated one night in CRACK CITY.

  34. C.... A....

  35. L.... V....

    crack city...........................

  36. J.... S....

I too feel I'm in isolation. I loved them, I thought it was very brave of him to go back and pay his homage to The Stooges etc. Perhaps the timing wasn't right? Who knows? More than likely the established Musical press couldn't relate or understand this shift. Okay! It's The Stooges in very nice suits but what the hell at least it was hard driven Rock N Roll and not tepid saccharin vomit that ushers in our ears on a daily basis

    J.... S....

Javed Singh no not stooges ? It’s soupy sales kids the guitar and drums Hunt and Tony Sales ! Nothing to do with the stooges ! The sales brothers played on list for life and the idiot ! It’s not the stooges ? Wtf? Lol

    J.... S....

    @GO BIDEN Right?!?!?!

  37. M.... S....

Fuck yeah, I saw them in Detroit and Bowie opened the show with this dedicated to Detroit ....HAHAHAAHAA

  38. J.... C....

It's like the first 2 chords from Wild Thing looping the whole song.

    J.... C....

    +James C Plus a Helter Skelter ending

    J.... C....

i didnt notice that til i read your comment

  39. M.... ....

    Bowie Forever....

  40. w.... ....

I think this is one of his best albums, if not the best.

  41. N.... ....

I also very much enjoy Bowie's Tin Machine era :P I've been a Bowie fan since the summer of 1999. I was nearing 10 years old lol He's fantastic <3
