Thrice Under A Killing Moon Comments
Great and Sad
Very Sad Song
My best loves to jam this song with me, I've grown to love it so much. Thanks mah dude.
WHO ELSE IS HERE BECAUSE OF NORMA JEAN?
I hear some similarity but AMFTFTW is a better song.
This is my 3 year olds favorite song he absolutely loves this band check him out playing drums to this song https://youtu.be/WytvFuXWj5c
Thank the resident evil 2 sound track for my knowing and loving this song.
bro, who remembers this song from gretzky 2005
almost 15 years of listening to this band. Last night i saw them for the first time in a show in Santiago, Chile. Thank's, Thrice for giving me an amazing youthnes and a better concert. It was breathtaking
So the picture on the cover itself looks like a blunt with flame in the middle lol stoner status.
I was 17 when I first heard this. 15 years later it’s stop so fucking good.
This is heavy as fuck
I know where my kids goin to school lol
I think the lyrics are based on the story of 1994's Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon (one of the best point and click adventure games ever made). He talks about a lot of elements of the plot of the game. However, instead of "witches", there are the "mutants" and the "norms" in the game. It takes place in the future, after WWIII. A large anti-mutant extremist religious cult plans to poison the atmosphere (which is already red due to the effects of the war, hence "Under this burning sky") to kill all the "impure" while they would wait in a space station for generations, until the air was clean and they could return to a "pure" world. The playable character is not a mutant but is sympathetic towards them, hence the "You can still walk away; If you just hold your tongue" part, because he gets that opportunity at some point in the game.
I like to think that it is not.
Idk what kind of crack you're smoking but this is about the witch trials
@jasper426 on the surface, yes, but it's actually a metaphor for the middle east and America invading Iraq under false pretenses.
Thrice is good like that.
@wikdjester Ok I can see that with songs like "Blood Clots and Black Holes" off of this same album. But none of this mutant shit this dude was talking about lmao
@jasper426 word.
Matt Stonie brought me here, which made me love thrice!
Lyrics;
The air my lungs first loved
Carves craters from my eyes
They said "breathe deeply son
Or be the next to die"
Beneath the falling night
And heaven's shutting gate
Pray keep your tongue held tight
Or suffer the same fate
The blood on our black gloves
It is none of your concern
If you want to call our bluff
Get in line and wait your turn
And watch the witches burn
Don't flinch when innocents
Are dancing with the flame
If they wanted to live
They'd learn to play the game
You can still walk away
If you just hold your tongue
If you'd just walk away
You'd live to see the sun but
Under this killing moon
Under this burning sky
The fire's shining groom
I hold my breath and close my eyes
Thank you for the word cake <3
One of their best, so much emotion in this.
GREAT RIFFAGE!
post hc.. me gusta
Always had respect for Thrice but never got into them, Holy Shit what the hell have I been missing! WOW just WOW!
my guy this whole album is dope let alone others
My english teacher played this song for us in class, she would going nuts on the chores ahah BURN BURN BURN, it was related supposed to a topic we where covering about witches and catholics lol
+Steve Brule yeah, cause you're a real winner trolling youtube...
Lmfao! this imbecile is the epidemy that is idiocracy. I love it. Steve should have been swallowed along with his sibling. If his wench of a mother knew how to say no to the D, a Troll wouldn't have been born. Unfortunately no wasn't in her dicktionary.
C. Marquez haha, dam you tichabahhh
God damn, we've lost our way.
Good teacher.
I love this song!!!!
is this the song whats on resident evil? := cause im listening to this on resident evil apocalypse soundtracks playlist? looking for resident evil apocalypse church scene soundtrack. anyone?
You guys need to understand this song is about abortion. It's a voice against abortion and how unborn children are people too. We can't have a double standard and say we can't kill innocent children while we allow abortion.
@Isaac70065
You need to do a little background reading on Thrice and Dustin Kensrue.
Thank you. My god, they have some one dimensional fans.
Everyone is free to their own respective interpretation. The lyrics and moods can be read in all sorts of interesting ways. Stop being a buzzkill
@Isaac70065 tremendously good one lol
Wtf is this goofy shit?
This song needs more views
This is Thrice at it's Best! WTF happened to them hahahhaa =P
They got better you deaf urchin
They’re still good just not as good as they were on this album
we'll watch the witches burn
so many memories
que buena la cancion :D
Ahh, Teppei.
hmm maybe just someone tellin me stories :(
What? Checked the wiki and it doesn't mention him under additional musicians for the album.
off to practice. :)
I LOVE LOVE YOU WILLICE <3
post-hardcore, but has done straight up hardcore at times, and recent efforts to experimental rock music
That's because Riley Breckenridge is the drummer for this and all Thrice songs.
cant believe travis barker was the drummer for this song, <3
Me either.
Because he wasn't.
haha miss jammin 2 this band
I love the music and the good old game with Tex Murphy =)
slightly metal influenced punk. Thrice is a punk band, an amazing one, but still a punk band.
I just had to hear it. Just had to start with this!
I love this... it's like slightly punk influenced metal... I dig.
I first heard Thrice on a destruction derby game on the Ps2 when i was about 10. Now 8 years on they are my favorite band, saw their last UK show and witnessed most of my favorite songs performed live. Thank you Thrice
Tex Murphy Brought me here. :P
Means nothing when we don't know how old you are now.
On my mouse. XD
i bet i know where your right hand is located
If this song was 20 minutes long it would be too short
<3 THRICE!
i remember when i couldn't find this song on youtube
OMFG, dude i love this band i get goose bumps LOL sooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!
Not bad,, I could listen to this song not once, not twice but - THRICE!!
My left ear is happy.
FUCK!... is great love it
i got it from resident evil apocalypse:D
Fucking amazing!!!
for as old as this song is, its still so good!
@Darkuniss You must be one of the 8 because saying jokes about dislikes is equivalent to watching teletabies, whatever that is.
@walterwolseley I can see kinda where you might think some of the guitar intro sounds similar, but that's about it. Even so, if it was a reference it would be the other way around. The Artist in the Ambulance album came out in 2003. Haste the Day's album "Burning Bridges" came out in 2004.
@dfzdjs Really, HTD doesn't have a song with the same name, but just hear this song:
Haste The Day - Breaking My Own Heart
@walterwolseley what're you on about, HTD don't have a song with the same name as far as I know
Haste the Day Cover?!
Wtf is this . where is game under the killing moon?
Just saw a random Facebook update from Thrice and my mind instantly shot to this. Man, I love this song.
@TheEndlessObsession Same here... This music has a talent like not many do to bring back old memories :)
Enjoy!
@TheEndlessObsession I KNOW!! this is the first time I 've listened to Thrice since I was a kid. I drove out of town to see three different shows they were billed on. Impeccable live band.
@adtrfan1011 about 1999 I believe.
@jeremyunderground41 i could see that.
@TheEndlessObsession lol i havent listened to this since elementary school..
So kickass.
lol everybody look up media friendly turn for the worse by norma jean for a good laugh and a half
they really sounded like matchbook romance, anyone agree? or it's just me?
I WAS LIKE # 200 :D
this was in 2003 and they are still around
This song is too short.
I new to this band, and from the comments on their videos, it seems I have been missing out seriously.
Thrice is still one of the greatest bands. I remember listening to this CD so much as a teen. They've grown so much, but this stuff still holds up well.
@howard95 The album of this song was released in 2003 while the Hand of Blood EP was released in 2005. According to wiki.
I loved this song so much back in high school. I haven't loved another song with the same passion like i did this.
was this first or hand of blood?
This song ROCKS....thanks bluerush for turning me on to "thrice"
turn it UP
@theflamingsword516 I didn't say anything bad about the song or kids. You're the one trying to throw around insults on the Internet. Try not to get provoked so easily.
thrice the band to play at Conan O'Brien spread the word
God, I haven't listened to this since I was in high school...
Because it's for kids. Thanks.
@slayer501st True that, Vheissu was their best album... but this new album will be amazing i think. Influenced by BOTCH?!?!?! Its gonna be heavy as crap, yet also really subdued at points.
@rushour144 lol. true but that doesn't change the fact that vheissu was a lot better
and they had a spontaneuos mood change i wasn't into or i guess ready for
@slayer501st Thats too bad, because both of those are freaking amazing!!!
@2323jgrant LOL yep yep
nice song yeah!!! love all rock for all my life!!!
Resident Evil Apocalypse soundtrack
@OMFGallusernamesgone i didn't like beggars or the 2nd alchemy index album.
@mattlambrecht1 sorry its like 3 am for me but wtf r u talking about O_O
dude wow this album was amazing. Just listened to it in its entirety. Vhiessu had a greater range but this had by far greater melodies. TAI was pure genius though. Beggars returned to Vhiessu's roots of making random music with bad melodies.
It amazes me how different Thrice was in the days of AITA compared to Beggars...doesn't matter, every album Thrice makes is awesome, case-in-point, this song.
@gookmarathon i wouldnt say meridional was their worst album...but it doesnt help to have a rip off song on it lol. my fave from them is redeemer.
this bands subdued by others cus they dont want to admit that there a very good band especially when it comes to lyrics
anyone catch how norma jean kinda ripped off this song.. q___q
@TheEndlessObsession yeahhh me neither..hehe i love them still thoughs.
I think I just had an eargasm
@deathtoal God I miss them....the old Thrice.
