Three Dog Night Mama Told Me (Not To Come) Comments
Fantastic 👍
I met them at a company picnic in OKC, 1994. They played in a very large horse barn with 100+ temperatures. A great time was had by all.
Mama told me not to cum
I was just 9 years old when this sing came out. Still as good today as it was 49 years ago. Timeless
I agree Three Dog Night should be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame🎵💖
We need to adopt the same discipline as it was in the 70s. These Millennial Bull shirts are destroying the world!
Randy Newman writes another hit! Man i though he was just the pixar/toy story guy until now.
LOL I need this today! 2020
We are getting old.
Other good band three dog night one fashion of the rock years sixteen and seventeen famous thanks T D N to their good music
Story of my LIFE back in the early '70s. Whoa.
Absolutely, I agree.
Whats so cool is, its a badassed funky song from the free love +dope era talking about how dope aint cool, because Mama said so
That, apparently, is not the way to amuse oneself.
Good song but those guys always reminded me of three actors playing the part of singers.
I think Newman’s version is much better.
Just three guys who sang covers and and weren't even a band. Way overrated.
Such a great time to live in.......anything was possible, the sun seemed brighter, dreams were coming true, peace was important, and no matter what genre of music was on the radio, & there was many, we loved all of them!!!! Thanks so much for sharing this memory 😉
My mama told me to stop being a pain in her ass .
Love the little dance at the end. lol
My husband was a radio DJ in the 70’s so I surprised him with a Three Dog Night concert in 2006 when they performed at a local casino.
I’ve attended 100 concerts...so many classic 60’s and 70’s bands; the Eagles, Bowie, Styx, America, Rod Stewart ; you name it ....and this one was in my top 5!
Don’t forget this song was written by Randy Newman .
Great song, great music, thank you. 💕😘🎼❤🙏👍😇
Coolest electric piano not played by Stevie Wonder or Donald Fagen.
They got soul
This brings me back to summer of 1970, going into the Black Hills of South Dakota, camping with my family. We were as Canadians introduced to Coors beer in a camp ground!
Its all about the poem. And these guys did great things with a good poem.
Class when you think Tom Jones released it years later.
VERY GOOD ~~~~!!!
Still 🎶 listening #2020
Still better than the "so called" rock music in 2020!!
Three Dog Night needs to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, who agrees with me!
I still oveto there music today what a great band
@Tim Giangiobbe they had hit after hit in their day ,back when you had to have a good voice to sing,as these gents had outstanding harmonies
Fuck the RR hall of fame...TDN don't need it.
Three Dog Night not in the hall of fame is like a baseball hof without Johnny Bench.
@The cisco kid wasnt a friend of mine Fuck them too! No Pete Rose! One of the greatest ballplayers ever! Shows what assholes those orgs. are.
Does anyone know what that 1 song with the boat was
Mystery Ship by Blues Image.
Or Brandy by Looking Glass.
In my husband word "Mama told not to come it causes babies."
I always come back to this one.
Corey Wells. Chuck Negron. Danny Hutton. Saw them several times in person!
Golden stuff from a damn golden era!!
Love it.
The comedian, Flip Wilson had fun with this song on his show. I remember it well.
All those years she has spent telling him not to go... always ignored her
A True Crime Their not in the Rock N Roll HOF
my uncle gave me this 45 when I was 5...put it on my playschool record player and my mom yelled "turn that shit down" Hahaha yes!
65 and still rock,n,,,,great song,,great ban,,,where have we all gone,,,thanks for your time,,,,☃ was here
Negron and Wells were two excellent front men with amazing voices and good looks..
How are they not in the RRHOF? What a travesty
Loooove that. And the soundtrack of the movie Boogie Nights.
Oh man, dig the polyester and platform shoes. I was in a completely different mind set back then. Jeans , work boots and flannel shirts.
I always thought it was a black guy singing this.
Blotter Acid song. It was a different time back then.
Went to a few of these parties- woke up in jail one night- had a black eye to boot!
I can't stop watching this vid. I'm not a huge 3 Dog Night fan, but this video is intoxicating.
Want some whiskey in your water?
Sugar in your tea?
What's all these crazy questions
They are asking me?
This is the craziest party
That could ever be
Don't turn on the lights
'Cause I don't wanna see
Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come
She said, "That ain't the way to have fun, son"
Open up the window
Let some air into this room
I think I'm almost choking
From the smell of stale perfume
And the cigarette you're smoking
'Bout to scare me half to death
Open up the window
Let me catch my breath!
Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come
She said "That ain't the way to have fun, son
That ain't the way to have fun, son, son, son"
The radio is blasting
Someone's knocking at the door
I'm looking at my girlfriend
She just passed out on the floor
I've seen so many things
I ain't never seen before
Don't know what it is
But I don't wanna see no more
Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come (Mama told me she said)
She said "That ain't the way to have fun, no" (no, no)
"That ain't the way to have fun, son"
And Mama told me, mama told me
Mana told me, mama told me
Mama told me not to come (Mama told me not to come)
"That ain't the way to have fun, son"
"That ain't the way to have fun" (that's what she said, she said)
"That ain't the way to have fun, no"
"That ain't the way to have fun" (Mama told me)
And Mama told me, mama told me
Mama told me, mama told me
She told me not to come (Mama told me not to come)
"That ain't the way to have fun" (that ain't the way to have fun)
"That ain't the way to have fun, son"
"That ain't the way to have fun" (oh no, no)...
Spoken: Maybe I should've listened
3 dog. Love you buggers.
youth troubled waters prior to high school (class of 1976)....but I had 3 Dog, The Association and my deep crush on Miki Harrington to get me thru those tough times. Thank you Lord! Miki.....you'll always be beautiful to me despite your non-romantic interest. I understand.
Stale perfume 😂😂
I was only 8 months old when this song came out. I was 11 years old when I have a conscious memory of hearing this song. I instantly loved it. I can bet as a baby I loved it. To this day I love it. Bad ass song. Bad ass group.
Mi madre me dijo que no viniera
Momma told me...but l didnt listen
Back in 1969 they played at Taft HS Woodland Hills CA in the high school auditorium promoting their first album.
My favorite TDN song is one that I don't think alot of people paid attention to, "It's For You". That is a beautiful song.
35 years later they were better in concert LOL
*Fritz has got all the good stuff, no competition!*
Put away your notebooks, and not show me, what you know. Cause, that cat, censorship, is ruining all our soul.
I'm looking at our world, political correctness, not talking about the past, not sharing old traditions. Things we cherish , things that will last
.
Mama, told me not to print. mama, told me not to print. That ain't the way to wise think. That ain't that way to stay Pink.
Don't open up your internet, don't let the world see. All that bad news, crimes and , debauchery.
Show me some happy tunes, men and women of integrity. Living their world of realism and full of morality.
Mama, told me not to send'
Mama, told me not to send.
That ain't the way to make friends.
That ain't the way yo make amends.
So, no more crazy partying, landing on the floor.
The dishonesty, and violence is killing me,. I'm heading for the door.
Let me take my make believe world, flipping through the years more.
And helping children, society, and evening up the score.
Mama, told me to be good...
Mama, told me to be good'''
Listening to authority,
be silent, right as I should
No more hypocrity, no lying though my teeth.
Put away materials, wealth drowning deep.
I'm the "sucker " whose flying wrong.
Loving Mama told me song.
Keyboardist rockin them green pants for real..
I saw these guys in Bakersfield in 1968. No one had heard of them and they were great. Saw them years later, 1974 in Honolulu and they put on an awesome concert.
Unfortunately I heard this song after it was too late.
I still remember Chuck on I think the 700 club 20+ years ago. He told his sad ass story of being a multi millionaire and spent and lost it all because of cocaine and heroin. Last things he dumped/sold for almost nothing for a fix was his multi family apt buildings he owned and his gold and platinum records. He ended up living in the streets as a junky bum! Lost his teeth and was skin and bones! Said his mind was so warped he would look in the mirror no teeth, skin and bones and say, you're still a good looking man. Ha!
What a fucking great song and vocals!
I LOVE THESE GUYS!!!! you will NOT find a video, interview or anything else that doesn't show them having the best time in the world!!! You can tell they love each other and what they're doing.
Every band needs a dink and Danny Hutton fit the bill.
What does that even mean...?
Chuck negron as Rahad Jackson ...Ricky springfield is a buddy of his!
Eat your hearts out, going to see them in concert tomorrow night.
oh plz do share tell about it...!!! this was one of my most favorite bands when growing up..!!
97.1 Russ martin show sent me here 2019
Three Dog Night, one of the most forgotten great bands ever...I was a teen in 70's, TDN was well loved...Especially; Jeremiah was a bullfrog.
My last year in highschool.. strange I can't recall it coming out in 1970.
Takes me way back to the crazy parties we threw and the even crazier things I saw with my own eyes. Some of the crap we did and got away with is astounding.
That drummer and bassist are on point. Damn good
I remember them sighing autographs at a mall I went to many years back. They are so cool!
Music that I can relate too. I think 3 dog night was one of the best group in the 70s
11.7.19..miss momma....more importantly momma told me not to come
.i had to have fun momma..sry. rip..mickey
Damn he was fine back then and very talented group..
This will always be a favorite due to its COOLNESS !!!
They are playing in chumash in nov. But mama told me not to come
This was my 1970’s this ain’t the way to have fun,,,,,and I was made for loving you baby you were made for loving me. Ah, those confusing adolescent years.
Momma told me a lot that I wish I had listened to. Great music.
Eu não sabia que the animals também gravaram essa música! Mas essa versão com tree dog night ficou muito melhor!.
The Beetles seem mildly retarded compared to these guys.
These people neeeeeeeed to be in the r&r hall of fame(rock and roll hall of fame) im sad that they arent. Three dog night is a very good band. They are one of the best bands ever !!!!!!!!🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

When I was a kid I thought the singer was black lol.
The band has three guys with great voices--any of them could lead a band, I think. That's pretty rare.
i did too
I smiled the whole time watching this. Good vibes
Three Dog Night..so underrated!
I took my family to see TDN in 1973 in Shreveport Louisiana, my daughter Carrie Anne really enjoyed this song. Later my wife Glenda Fern told me that I embarrassed her because I didn't make enough money for her. She left and took my daughter with her and broke my heart. Now I'm broke, homeless and retired in Florida, living with a broken heart all these years. If only I could have been a better person, I'm sorry Carrie Anne for not being there for you.
Cory with some Tom Jones dance moves at the end.
Lost my virginity to this in the Hillman Imp. Those were the days
