Thom Yorke - Cymbal Rush Lyrics
Try to save it but it doesn't come off the rock
Try to build a wall that is high enough
It's all boiling over a
All boiling over
Try to save your house
Try to save your songs
Try to run
But it follows you up a hill
It's all boiling over
All boiling over
Your little voice
Your little voice
No more conversation
You should took me out when you had the chance
You should took me out when you had the chance
All the rooms were numbered
And the losers turned away
Don't turn away
Don't turn away

Thom Yorke Cymbal Rush Comments
One of my all time favourites. And if you like this then you'll probably also like - Radiohead - The Numbers: Jonny, Thom & a CR78
Why did they start again ?
Masterpiece
Just another masterpiece. The usual incredible chords and melodies from Thom and crazy good lead accompanying from Jonny

You play the hand you're dealt. Thom isblessed with falsetto so that's what he does

Isn't it completely tragic that the world will one day lose this great man? That'll be a very, very tough day for me.
whats the instrument Jonny plays?
Il s'agit d'ondes Martenot!
Even in this terrible upload quality where the sound is muffled and flat it still sounds good.
Suddenly, Nigel enter into the frame.
"Oh shit. I'm supposed to be playing too"
Amazing and mesmerising song tho.

to all you... the intent is what you get...
I like this version equally to the album version but for different reasons.
Can't go wrong with Thom's voice with Jonny on ondes martenot

fender rhodes
a massage that comes from the ears to the brain.....I like it so much...
I really hope people realize what a gift we have with this guy.
Radiohead....Beatles of the future
lobofobia they’re far beyond anything the Beatles ever were. The Beatles (while still being good) were a famous pop phenomenon. These guys are on a whole other frequency when it comes to music. Literally nothing can be compared
a famous pop phenomenon? Sgt Pepper...Revolver....Abbey Road...White Album...(Tomorrow never knows, A day in the life, Hapiness is a warm gun, Blue jay way, Its all too much, Fixing a hole...etc etc...) OK!!!
lobofobia for all intensive purposes, yes The Beatles are a pop band. I used to be a huge Beatles fan but then grew bored of there sound. To compare Radiohead to The Beatles is honestly kind of a disgrace in my opinion. Radiohead has created there own sound that cannot ever be recreated by anyone ever. The Beatles didn’t do anything like that. Radiohead makes soundscape beautiful music. Nothing The Beatles have ever done can be compared to a Radiohead song past The Bends. From Ok Computer till now, Radiohead has truly been on another frequency when it comes to music.
In an interview they asked Johhny what was better than Radiohead. The guitarist replied: anything the Beatles have recorded is better than Radiohead. I guess he knows more than us.
lobofobia why would they say they’re the best? They have said in multiple occasions that they think there music is bad. No great artist thinks what they’re doing is the best because they’re always striving to do far better. Like I said, The Beatles were mainstream pop back then. Radiohead has never been mainstream, and they’re music doesn’t even sound relatively similar to anything the Beatles have ever put out. Just cuz Johnny says he thinks the Beatles are better, doesn’t mean he said were just a worse/modern day version of the Beatles. The Rolling Stones were great, but Linkin Park is pretty great too. I guess that means Linkin Park is just the modern day Rolling Stones right? Oh wait............
I can't stop listening to The Eraser, I haven't put it down since it came out.
L A it’s an amazing and innovative album!
Have you put it down yet?
@Milo Baird Still coming back to it...
Omg this is so good
thom you is the best
이새끼 중간에 틀려가지고 지도 처웃네 ㅋㅋㅋ 2:02초부분부터 존나 틀리고 2:16 쯤에 처웃음
"That was good."
NIGEL IS DA BITCH
I love this song. i don't know how, but over the days, this song is saving my life. i am so grateful for this
Does anyone know what drum machine that is?
Looks like a 909
2:17 madness...
Anyone know what Synth that is the Johnny plays?
I would love to know as well :)
It's called Ondes martenot
I love the tempo of this song
amo adoro!
Dare I say this is BETTER than the album version?
I completely agree, in comparison with “Like Spinning Plates” the live version is much better and more clear. I love the electronic touch but the album version is a bit too electronic.
You don't need to dare. It objectively is.
Will Yeah definitely way better
Without a doubt
You certainly can. And Jonny on the French Connection (Ondes Martenot replica) is just sublime. I've watched this video so many times and it still gives me chills.
Truly underrated song.
Ondes martenot
10 yearssss
OMG! that shift of beat and the sudden soothing voice of Thom Yorke at 2:54 make me wanna die!
imposible mezclar futboles con músicos . Por favor
This song should be listened by every human beings in the world.
Including aliens, they would take thom as God.
Wow. Just wow.
thom's songs are so depressing and perfect at the same time that it makes me go suicidal thoughts.
Jonny's playing the Ondes Martenot right?
Shammo Hamid ye
apart from being an amazing song...what i love is the fact even though its a solo thom song, radiohead band mates still play it with him. true friends...true music...truly fucking awesome
I think this is better than the original version.
what sort of magic is this?
Genius!
thom is such a fool. He does the greatest live performance of one of the best songs ever written and all he says at the end of it is a mundane "that was good". Such a gross understatement.
It’s not one of the best signs every written. Take it easy
@Smarty Jonez then what is?
ten years, omg

Great timing Nigel, it was slick...

I'll always be upset. I function......but I will always be upset and this song defines it.
I woke up in the middle of sleep simultaneously with my girlfriend to this one night. we fuckin broke up. life is so stupid sometimes.
<3 always
This version is so good I want to die .
It's kind of true. Reading your comment while listening made me kind of cry... (eek face)
Lol same here
Larks' Tongues In Aspic me too, dude. Me too.
la armonia de este tema me hace acordar a There There
Anyone picks up a melody similar to There There towards the end of the song?
lil bit, lil bit
Same chords, actually.
I envision Thom Yorke dying of a heart attack one day, on stage, having just completed one of the greatest live performances in music history. Gives everything, this man.
He's a God, man!
Nebojsha Antonijevik Which one?
ha ha, Tom of course!
May be 10 years old but wow this is still fantastic and even better live
I love how Jonny's hair is always the most prominent feature of his face when he performs.
Micah Buzan you again, mate
i knew i'll find your comment here
johnny Greenwood!!!!!!
Big up man like Johnny on the beat!
Want to know how good Radiohead are? ... Even when it went "wrong" at the start, it still sounded about 1,000 times better than any other band!
Fun Guy agreed, also how is Creep still their most popular song. Even if we’re talking Pablo Honey, Blowout is much better. But yeah, Radiohead is the best.
4:59 *Thom Yorke:* _"That's good."_
... *Me:* _"Yes Thom, that certainly was!"_
something I love about Thom is how ordinary he seems to be, then all of the sudden the music starts and he blooms like a flower.
Brenda Luna like a lotus flower
So I was learning this song today and saw your comment. I think it goes even deeper than what you're saying. Even a simple sounding song like this isn't simple. The words don't match up with the piano hits, it's syncopated. Which means it takes twisting your brain a little bit to figure it out. Not only is it beautiful, but it's kind of hard to play and sing this at the same time, and I didn't even notice until I tried. He's a genius.
Exactly.. I play the Jonny parts in my radio cover band and it is amazing how `simple' the songs sound but how well they are composed. I always played classical music but playing Radiohead is so much fun.. for me it is classical music but in a modern jacket.
there was a morning where I woke up to this, simultaneously with my ex, playing on fuel tv. it was beautiful.
