Thin Lizzy Waiting For An Alibi Comments
  1. j.... m....

Soaring guitar harmonies, blistering solos, chunky rhythm, rolling bass tied together by Phil's insightful lyrics and punchy vocal delivery. Nobody did it better.

  2. D.... H....

    Great comments!

  3. w.... a....

Brilliant tune from a brilliant band.

  4. J.... -....

I have goose bumps. So bad ass.

  5. B.... S....

One of the best thin lizzy songs

  6. L.... S....

18 people, I'm coming for you. I don't know who the hell you are, but we gotta track these people down. If you did dislike this song, tell me - why?

  7. m.... m....

phil savais décrire ces problèmes cœur, argent ,drogue de lui et de nous en définitive... dans tout ces chansons avec une musique qui arrachais tout...phil un très très grand partis trop vite...

  8. a.... b....

40 años despues sigue sonando de tan actual...gran Banda !

  9. N.... M....

    This bass, omg

  10. S.... T....

One of the best rock bands ever........will never go out of fashion....not in my mind anyway.

  11. S.... W....

Valentino's got a bookie shop and what he takes
He gives for what he's got
And what he's got he says he has not
    Stole from anyone

It's not that he don't tell the truth
Or even that he misspent his youth
It's just he holds the proof
    But you know something's wrong

    Waiting for an alibi
    Waiting for an alibi
    Waiting for an alibi
    Waiting for an alibi

Valentino's in a cold sweat, placed all his money on that last bet
Against all the odds he smokes another cigarette
Says it helps him to forget
    He's a nervous wreck

It's not that he misses much
Or even that he's lost his lucky touch
It's just that he gambles so much
And you know that it's wrong

    Waiting for an alibi
Waiting just to catch your eye
    Waiting for an alibi
Tried to say I told you, I told you

  12. A.... C....

Perfect! These guys paved the way for so many to follow.

  13. N.... M....

I showed Philomena my black rose tattoo she loved it xx

    N.... M....

    Rest her soul...

  14. M.... ....

    Sick tune!

  15. I.... A....

*Gary Moore, RIP, was a great guitarist however I'm not so certain Moore should've followed Scott Gorham's lead on this song because Moore's follow up sounded amateurish compared to the fire just released by Gorham!*

    I.... A....

Gary does not sound amateurish compared to anyone!!

    I.... A....

And that was actually Scott following.

  16. A.... H....

RIP Phil....I am listening to this song while I recover from illness. So professional, so cool. What a good, good number.Fantastic guitar, fantastic rythm.Just fantastic.

  17. J.... H....

    Too proud to be irish!

    J.... H....

    Amen to that 🤘

  18. a.... ....

    10 dislikes wtf.

  19. M.... R....

Who the hell disliked this song????

  20. m.... h....

This song was great use of art work and tells a story about how a young man in love has a gambling problem and is spending money like he lost his only love and tries to forget about it. But the song is actually a message trying to say do not be a fool who gambles money because you will not win the bets in the end and will pay for not only your debts but for your sin of guilt. Try to resolve the problem by going to therapy sessions, rehab or look at how much money you use for gambling and save it to treat yourself to a holiday or for improving your home or for charity instead.

  21. D.... ....

Hits the best teenage nerve endings...this and Don't Believe a Word by themselves make Lizzy one of the all time greats.

  22. J.... M....

    Happy anniversary phil

  23. c.... b....

What is the best guitar lineup in Thin Lizzy? For me it has to be Robbo and Scott

  24. c.... b....

They never outstayed their welcome. Three and a half minutes and it was nailed. So many bands back then just warbled on and on with mindless utterly forgetful soloing but Thin Lizzy's solo's were like exquisite works of art in miniature. What a story - what a track - what a solo - what a memorable bass line - what great drumming - and all rolled into 3.5 minutes. Listen and learn all you fretboard meanderers. Less is more. More memorable, more impact, more class - and none came classier than The Thin Men at the top of their game.

  25. S.... L....

This is one. Fantastic piece of call it

  26. F.... o....

How can you not like this?

  27. T.... B....

Killer guitar work on this like all other lizzy stuff

  28. M.... K....

    GARY MOORE. UNBELIEVABLE

  29. P.... L....

Listen to this song. The drums and rythm. The riffs and Lynnots voice. Feel the tension and irony. Cmon. This is a masterpiece. Did they even knew they were doing history?

    P.... L....

    youre so right

  30. B.... M....

Everything cranked, levels bursting the recording console. In 1979, the best band on the planet. That solo, sweet jesus christ. Vibrato on overkill , precise and then gary adds the harmony, the reason I picked up a guitar.

  31. F.... M....

Whoever disliked this has no alibi.

  32. .... ....

    カッコいい( ̄▽ ̄)

  33. M.... P....

I really want my bass to sound like Phil's

    M.... P....

    use a flanger!

  34. M.... D....

3 and a half minutes of perfection!

  35. J.... B....

the flanger effect on the bass is so cool

  36. T.... ....

This song will creep up on you, wow...on repeat indefinitely at the moment.

  37. M.... ....

Stands the test of time, sounds like it was recorded yesterday

    M.... ....

    Very much so:P

    M.... ....

nothing wrong with that. It's just from a creative standpoint, disco focused more on dancing, drugs, parties, and sex. Much like what has become of rap and a lot of music in general today. It's bad from a creative standpoint.

    M.... ....

Damn right it stands the test of time. Outside of Bad Reputation, Black Rose is my fave album front to back, and how can anybody dislike this track is another question altogether??!

    M.... ....

@@Baron Nick Von Sick ! This song is a classic, absolutly.

  38. R.... H....

    Yes that solo !

    R.... H....

Played by Scott Gorham; his solos during the Robertson line-up were some of the tastiest ever IMO.

  39. M.... K....

Seen em in 1979 Live And Dangerous tour will never forget the power that double lead produced ,...Scot Gorman and Gary Moore you where the Dogs Danglies.

    M.... K....

Phil Lynott" could not have said that better" "you are a poet sir"""

    M.... K....

    you are so lucky

    M.... K....

    The dogs danglies

  40. D.... K....

    god be with the days.

  41. 6.... ....

  47. J.... W....
