Thin Lizzy I Need You Comments
  1. N.... H....

    Cowboys Song brought me here

  2. E.... O....

Great to hear this song, thanks for posting it 👍

    E.... O....

You're welcome pal glad you enjoyed it cheers

  3. H.... P....

Love the old Lizzy. Love the later Lizzy. Greatest Band on earth.

  4. S.... K....

It’s the first time I have heard this track. In Phil Lynott’s biography it likens this track to Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames’ style which is true but it’s interesting to hear Phil singing in this style.

  5. A.... L....

This should've been recorded by the classic lineup and included on jailbreak. Just kidding

  6. G.... ....

What a great performance and song this is! Have always wanted to hear it, and it's not easy to find. Savoy Brown would've also done this well. Thank you. :)

*IVO`s MAGIC WORLD* presents *MUSIC HISTORY GUIDE - FAMOUS BIRTHS* - *ERIC WRIXON - 70th Anniversary His Birth, Today!!!* *(JuNe 29th, 2017)*

  8. A.... B....

VERY GOOD NOT LIKE LIZZY AS they NOW

  9. G.... L....

I like swing, and I think it's great that they weren't afraid to experiment

  10. b.... ....

In correction to my earlier post, the writer/producer was John Dardis not Scott English. But it's true they only recorded it as a condition of him producing The Farmer.

  11. A.... L....

I hate hearing him say 6 feet under ground

  12. n.... ....

So this is the only song in Thin Lizzy's catalog I don't have (because it's not available on CD)...

Well, it was good to finally hear it!

    n.... ....

Cuz it ain't a Lizzy song - this is them performing their producer's song to get him exposure as a writer - it was a condition of getting their first single out. My guess is that Lynott resented this greatly.

    n.... ....

Actually I think they just lost the master tapes... I know they wanted to include it on the expanded reissue of their debut album but it was left off for that reason.

  13. P.... M....

yes he was Afro-Guyanese and his family originally came from Nigeria

  14. P.... M....

Yes but the band was founded in Ireland and originally had four Irish Members Phil Lynott, Brian Downey, Eric Bell and Eric Wrixon and although Phil's dad was not Irish Phil grew up in Ireland

  15. b.... ....

For those who don't know, this song was written by their producer Scott English and was only recorded to meet the condition of him producing their first single.

  16. M.... S....

i am only 46 .....and i love the old music ...i dont like the new stuff .

  17. 1.... ....

    @Kenmorfdublin Ok mate capital G,i stand corrected.lol

  18. K.... O....

@19ARSENAL100 No, the correct spelling is Guinness.

  19. s.... ....

    @stomp919 BTW Jailbreak rules!

  20. s.... ....

Well I have thew domestic USA issues of Thin Lizzys first three albums along with the box set VangaBONDS wARRIORS kINGS AND aNGELS AND I JUST recieved the first three Lizzys on Japan SHM-cd which sound fantastic. But no I need you. The vagabond long box and the Japanese Thin Lizzy have The Farmer but no I need You. Thanks for putting this up. Your cooler than the record companies because they must feel this is too inferior to put on CD. Been a fan of the early trio Thin Lizzy since the early 80s

    s.... ....

Actually I think they just lost the master tapes... I know they wanted to include it on the expanded reissue of their debut album but it was left off for that reason.

  21. D.... ....

@19ARSENAL100 Oh well I am more a fan of Heineken, however guinness will be great too, it is not very common here, so I must visit the Irish Pub here nearby if I want to taste it. Lots of nice things are from Ireland btw, think of Rory Gallagher.... so guinness will give just as much joy as Heineken does (sometimes, if not for the morning after ;-))

  22. 1.... ....

@DirkjeA Actually now i've seen your spelling i know mine was wrong haha, mine almost says guinness, the famous Irish stout.

  23. D.... ....

@19ARSENAL100 That could be true, but at least he was African and no South American. And the right spelling if your are an Englishman maybe, however my dictionary says Guyanese, I think both is possible. In Dutch it is Guinese lol.

  24. 1.... ....

@DirkjeA Actually his father was Guianese (if thats the correct spelling)

  25. D.... ....

@whitbyjet65 Yes, you are right, and I totally agree with you that Thin Lizzy is often mistaken for an all time Irish Band. I just wanted to tell his father was from Nigeria.

    D.... ....

Philip's Father was from Georgetown, Guyana.

  26. D.... ....

@whitbyjet65 The Brazilian father is a hoax, actually his father was from Nigeria but for some reason only Phil knew he kept this "Brazilian tale" alive. But really, his father came from Africa.

    D.... ....

    Phil's father was Guyanese

  27. k.... ....

@whitbyjet65 Brian Downey and Phil Lynott are Irish (both from Dublin) and founded the band in Dublin. Bell and Wrixon are from Belfast. Lynott was influenced by an tain ( a collection of Irish Folklore) and based many songs on those stories. So thats four members from the Island of Ireland.....
If that's not an Irish band then what is it?

    k.... ....

Though Phil was born in West Bromich! ;)

    k.... ....

He was, and will always be a Brummie ♥

  28. k.... ....

THANK YOU; for uploading thin lizzy's b-side of their debut single and the opportunity to hear the early days of Ireland's greatest rock band!

    k.... ....

Ireland's greatest rock band was TASTE. Thin Lizzy was a close 2nd.

  29. n.... ....

This is fantastic, I wonder how different the classic Lizzy lineup sound would be if Wrixon on organ never left, Bell's guitar here is amazing.

  30. A.... S....

Thanks man, this song isn't on any of their other albums is it?
