Thin Lizzy Got To Give It Up Comments
Phil had to know it was going to be his demise if he didnt. I wish he would have been wrong so bad. This band needed to carry on for the people. It just wasnt meant to be we can sit here and play the what if game all day. It is just unfortunate is all.
Another classic Lizzy riff
Man, haven't heard this great song in ages. Thanks metalpas66 & YouTube. Cheers!
Lizzy got THE mix of Hard Rock Sound and catchy melodies all time.
influential
I never give up that great Thin Lizzy Stuff.
best Thing Lizzy song.
Freddie mercury predicted his own demise also,,
Steve Childers RIP Spfd Mo. you got me hooked.Thank you for "the talk"I will never forget.Rip \m/ \m/
Gray Moore The reason why I bought a LesPual
To my shame ! Just found this
Such heartbreaking lyrics 💗 Phil was a troubled genius musician 🤔 so so good
Such a loss to music
RIP 💗💗
This is without doubt one of the most honest songs ever written about alcohol/family/life,Genius I am .gonna seek him out in the hopefull afterlife.
Thin lizzy is one of absolute most wholehearted rock n roll made
Saw them at the Fox in Atlanta 07/24/1979. Amazing! Sometimes genius has a short fuse. R. I. P. guys.
anyone who knows jack shit about music cannot listen to this cut without being put on their ass listening to the blistering solo gary moore put on here. gary moore was about the baddest mutha fucka to play rock guitar. you will be hard pressed to put another man on stage next to gary moore with enough street cred to hang with him
immeasurable genius!!
One of the most powerful Rock ballads of all time... it's incredible... it's a crying shame
Powerful lyrics and great music!
"Junk can get you far". Lynnot was king of oneliners.
Kim Larsson it’s “junk don’t get you far”
Genius. Just listen to the insecure passage (01:33)... get the words right... quite right... Such a storyteller. Lynnot could squeese a novel into a three minute song.
Kim Larsson he was a poet at heart and as you stated a great storyteller
Pity it wasn't the norm back when Phil was sick, to go into rehabilitation for substance abuse etc, like how it's fashionable theses days.. he had so many fans he felt he would let them down, shame etc, what people would think etc.. He was too proud, it's a part of the Irish upbringing,
He was years ahead of artists creating stuff , Phenomenon!!
Rip Phil..,,
Phil-nomenon
A lot of those places are flawed too though. If you have money and know people you can get into a good place. Otherwise it’s hard to find a halfway decent place especially for the masses who are broke or don’t have insurance. Trust me I know ... I wish I didn’t but I unfortunately do. I wish I could give it up and my situation is unique. Imagine being on medication that’s supposed to help with pain but just adds to the chronic pain. Along with medication for anxiety only for you to stop it and you get withdrawals from that too. It’s no fun and I wish I’ve never known this. I wouldn’t wish this on any person. Opiates in general will steal your soul

Incredibly underrated lizzy tune, quite easily one of my faves.
That fade-out solo is amazing! I'm assuming it's Gary?
Stephan Darnutzer it was definitely Gary. Scott Gorham was great in his own right but Gary raised the bar to a level that very few could tread.
GTRman909 and he came and left three times yet made a great impact. Everyone whoever played with Thin Lizzy was amazing period
Awesome band, awesome song. ⚡🤘
I Wanna get fucked up like the old days.
Фантастические чувачки
Best song by Lizzy, listen to that vocal and the tight music they bring us. And what can i say about That brilliant lyrics, he probably lived that life.
"Tell my mama I'm coming home
In my youth I'm getting older
And I think its lost control
Mama I'm coming home"
One of the best tracks from this album love it!
Magnificent lizzy....
Great !
Saw Thin Lizzy twice at The Glasgow Apollo my ears were ringing for ages after each gig .Possibly the start of my Tinotis .
Thanks mom Lynott! Phil was a good man.
Phil prophesied his own demise in a lot of his songs.......this one being spot on!!!!
Right..... this song as well as "The Sun Goes Down".
@1977kb0wqh1996 Especially "Heart Attack".
ironically enough, the song was written about Brian Robertson

Tell my Mama I'm coming home
In my youth I'm getting older - EXACTLY
soooo good, what a great album
So sad Phil & Gary never did give it up
true :(
We are lucky enough to have their music though. Rest In Power brothers
But thankfully Scott did
Gary wasn't on the heavy drugs, but did like to drink.
Lamar Odom
