Saw the Liz in '79 in Chicago. I went to catch Santana. But the boys blew away Santana, Journey, Molly Hatchet and Eddie Money. It sucked having to listen to Breakout and Boys are Back, but the rest was great!!

They have been available to be nominated in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame since 1996 and have not received one vote it's a travesty

My favorite by Thin Lizzy from the "Fighting" album along with "Wild One", "Rosalie", and "Suicide." Without the "Fighting" Album, there would be no Jailbreak. Fighting sets the stage for their 1976 Classic Breakthrough album "Jailbreak", the one where Thin Lizzy broke into America for a very short period of time. Cheers!!!

Robertson and Gorham were obviously awesome and Lynott - it goes without saying - but Downey, you're only as good as your drummer and lizzy had the best!

What??? The ONLY irreplaceable member is the song writer and Downey didn't write shit. The drummer could be any good drummer and they are a dime a dozen

@Alan Lloyd So I guess Roberston and Gorham are replaceable on this too? And I guess it depends on how the song was written. Many times with Lizzy, Lynott would have an idea and the rest of the guys would take that idea and run with it. "Don't Believe A Word" was going to be scrapped until Downey suggested a different approach. Did he write the song? No. But transformed it into something completely different and saved a song that was going to scrapped. And good drummers are a dime a dozen. But truly great ones like Downey are not.

@Judaskill666 I think it's cool that they're still playing. I was born in 1990 so never got to see Phil live as he died four years before I was born, but I managed to see Thin Lizzy in 2007. it was a great show, I really enjoyed it and I got to meet Scott Gorham. Of course it will never be the same without Phil, but they're giving people who are either too young to have seen them in the 70s/80s to see them do justice to all the old tunes.
