Thin Lizzy Baby Please Don't Go Comments
  1. L.... S....

Maybe the R&R Hall of Fame will finally deign to induct one of the greatest bands ever this year?
Get Thin Lizzy in there already! If U2 were inducted first year, then what the f*ck are you waiting for?
    Phil Lynott is unbeatable.

  2. M.... ....

I tried to warn you baby
I tried to tell you I was down
    Oh yeah yeah
    You would not listen baby
You would not hel pme when I was down
    Oh no no
He tells her "doesn't anybody understand I love her?"
That girl she holds my heart in her hands
Oh baby, oh baby baby baby baby
    Baby please don't go
    Baby please don't go
    Baby please don't go
Oh no no no no no
    Baby please don't go
I tried to warn you baby
I tried to tell you "don't let me down"
    Oh no no
    You would not listen baby
Baby you would not leave me go down
    Oh no no
He tells her there is foolish there is wise
The young ones hold their heart up to the skies
    And dance the night away
There is foolish, there is wise
There is anger in his tone
There is truth behind the lies
His heart has turned to stone
Wherever you may be, he loves her
    Wherever you may stand
He loves her in this land
    Baby please don't go
    Don't hurt me so
    Don't leave me now
    Baby please don't go

  10. B.... V....

Some good elements here, lots of irritating ones too, I guess they are meant to express the despair of the singer, but I prefer him to stop singing about a chaotic love line, and stick to Holy Wars !

  11. K.... K....

Sorry to say but John Sykes was really bad guitarist for Thin Lizzy. I love this album but it is over produced and the guitar sound is really horrible. John Sykes sure is fast and great guitarist but not for Lizzy.

  12. J.... C....

    Phil motherfucking lynott

  13. P.... M....

Guitarist John Sykes is brilliant...no wonder why David Coverdale got him to join Whitesnake for the 1987 album!

    P.... M....

    Peter May
John Sykes originally joined Whitesnake in 1984 for the American rerecording of their "Slide It In" album and the subsequent concert tour.

  14. J.... C....

    J.... C....

  38. T.... M....

thin Lizzy is so underrated they had a lot of great songs

  39. l.... m....

you hear the hurt in his voice he wife was a complete bitch the way she treated him

  40. S.... T....

Why would people choose shit over this.... I mean how could they... Howww????... This is real music which gets you. It's a Mad world we live in . People who still love classic Rock are like mutants in a hideout.. Where the humans are trying to plan a mass genocide! But we'll survive. The world will know real music... Till then it's a MAD WORLD we live in.. To all the Rockers, metal heads, trashers, glammers etc... You're not alone. We have to rise up and end this war. Peace out.. Baby please don't go!!

    S.... T....

What the fuck are you talking about? There's good music everywhere. Trash too.Overated and underated music as well. Hard Rock/Heavy metal had it's popular moments and era and it is gone. That's it. It may be back but not in this form that we know it. Just like everything else regarding music and what's trending.

  41. A.... S....

Some of the best guitar leads in John's time with Thin LIzzy; truly amazing.

  42. S.... T....

Thin lizzy baby please don't go...

  43. S.... L....

There is anger in his tone

  44. S.... ....

The guitar work on this album is on a whole other level......just badass!!!!

    S.... ....

    Isn't thow?? wow

    S.... ....

The guitar player is John Sykes, he was in Whitesnake in the album "1987"... he's awsome

  45. T.... V....

An absolute fuckin' classic. Still sounds fresh today. Love the whole album.

  46. g.... g....

    John. Fucking . Sykes

  47. J.... O....

THIS DUBLIN BOY WAS AN AWESOME FRONTMAN!!

  48. S.... M....

I probably lost alot of my hearing due to listening to this song wide open with headphones on a long time ago.

    S.... M....

Sidney Moore That always happen while listening Lizzy

  49. T.... G....

The riffs in this song have melted my face. More importantly, they have melted my heart. I rate Thin Lizzy/10.

    T.... G....

+The Guy You got that damn right!

    T.... G....

Such a Rock your face off L.P. Bought it new and still love every song. Shredding??? lol ummmm yep.

    T.... G....

    well stated!

    T.... G....

The geatest rock n roll band ever! along with motörhead!

    T.... G....

Not a bad album by Lizzy, Lynott was one of the greatest (if not the greatest)! Always loved his phrasing live, such soul.

  50. M.... M....

    Jedrus! Fenomenalny utwor

    M.... M....

+Marco Mcbreed i dunno what that means but i agree.

    M.... M....

    Crate Ape 😁

  51. c.... ....

John Sykes, just amazing! A lot of Gary Moore influence.

    c.... ....

    He is Gary Moore

    c.... ....

+caperuiz87 Maybe. But Sykes' style is totally 80's. Gary Moore is a level above IMHO.

    c.... ....

Love Sykes use of staccato runs.  Fantastic flavor.

  52. A.... J....

My first ever experience of hard rock as a teenager, lying in bed at night listening to a borrowed cassette of 'Thunder and Lightning' on a borrowed Walkman at ear-bleeding volume ... I will forever love this album like my own life. I understand how some who got to know Thin Lizzy earlier on might find John Sykes' style jarring, but for me the sheer blazing energy in his playing, the fire in his guts, still gets to me today just as it did then. I think he was completely brilliant. And this song, man, this song is genius ...

    A.... J....

@Jared Hawken The first album and Vagabonds are good too, Orfanage is not so good. But T&L is better than the first three IMHO.

    A.... J....

You Said It MAN! Thanks Love - j -

    A.... J....

    :-) I get it.

    A.... J....

    Mr. Moon 👎

    A.... J....

I'm a huge Gary Moore fan and I think Sykes absolutely kills it on this album!  Fantastic playing and anyone who tells you otherwise probably is biased or deaf.  Both are ridiculous guitarists oozing with talent and emotion.  (RIP Gary).

  53. T.... ....

best song ever. hands the fuck down.

  54. T.... ....

best song ever. hands the fuck down.

  55. r.... ....

It's a pity that YT don't allow us to give the thumbs up for older comments.
I love you all, Lizzy fans!

  56. M.... P....

I was snafu on this, thought Moore was in on album till my guitar guru buddies who know who can play guitar like Genius told me otherwise. Felt like an Idiot. But my point has always been Thin Lizzy were one of the trend setters in hard Rock/Metal. This album was early on in metal and was sooo heavy it skipped ahead of all the trends!

    M.... P....

@Magnum PEI This isn't metal. It's your every day rock

    M.... P....

@Buzzards Bass in hard Rock/Metal" ....and listen to more cuts off this album, they pretty much put early Maiden, Priest albums to shame in the raunch zone. I dont every day Rock comment, in a way thats cool.....but if anyone else besides metal heads were listening at the time, TL would only be remembered for "Boys are Back in town" or "Whiskey in the Jar"

  57. H.... ....

I can never get behind Sykes as a part of Thin Lizzy. He seems to equate playing at blinding speeds with a great solo, but there's no feeling to it. It says a lot that by far his best work on the album is when he actually slows it down a bit (e.g. "The Sun Goes Down" and "The Holy War").

    H.... ....

HuDaFuK to say there's no feeling to sykes' solo it is strictly one's opinion based on the emotion others hear

    H.... ....

This is my favorite 'heavy metal' guitar solo ever!Philip was very much a fan of Van Halen and wanted fresh new young blood to counteract the lazy(but very talented) Snowy White. He got it and here we are still enjoying it!

    H.... ....

    Greith,enorms

    H.... ....

    The,,best

    H.... ....

    @HuDaFuK
    He also co-wrote Holy war
    with Phil, according to
    Mark Putterford's book
    The Rocker.

  58. L.... B....

I have this on vinyl with the extra 12" with live tracks on. I saw the T&L tour twice at Manchester Apollo. Two great concerts. Love you Philo!

    L.... B....

What is the name of that LP?

  59. R.... A....

    A masterpiece!

  60. T.... S....

I think being around Phil brought the best out of any member in the band. RIP Phil my heart is still broke..

  61. G.... s....

They always play boys are back in town on the radio. What whisky in a jar?! They made other songs wtf?

  62. P.... Z....

    Heroin sucks man.

  63. B.... L....

I love Thin Lizzy from Nightlife to Black Rose. I felt they lost their way a bit after that but this is a pretty cool track :-)

  64. E.... J....

Listening to Thin Lizzy makes me feel like a 12 year old girl at a Hanson show

  65. R.... A....

    2 people lost their girls.

  66. 4.... ....

    should not have dislike button

  67. L.... J....

I wouldn't really like to hear it, i don't really like Lizzy in this era, just imagine how soulful this song would be without the useless shredding, if Brian Robertson had played on it.

    L.... J....

Lee J well to each is own. This is my favorite Thin Lizzy album, its heavier and darker than the rest. And I Love it.

  68. P.... K....

ESTA CANCION ME PARTE EL ALMA!!! PORFAVOR MI VIDA NO TE VALLAS!! PERO YA LO HAS HECHO

  69. A.... A....

a mi me pasó algo similar :D

  70. S.... J....

I remember being 12 years old when i first heard this song. I was fishing and my dad was blasting this on a cassate plyer, I cried for 20 minutes... I hope he knew i cried because it was EPIC ! and not because it was HEAVY METAL.

  71. A.... Z....

Lol, yeah, also going on the Judas Priest concert.. :D

  72. j.... s....

this song goes out to every girl thats broke my heart. fuc ya long live rock n roll. and when it comes to rock ballads thin lizzy makes the best God i love this band

  77. M.... ....

This song is great, but the Life/Live version is absolutely mental. Go and listen to it, if you haven't heard it before.

  78. C.... ....

excellent song! Believe it or not their live version goes a step further and is yet more powerful...

  79. O.... L....

    Nice :)
    abeldanger net

  80. M.... ....

    @Archanteron83
It's John Sykes on this song, not Gary Moore

  81. M.... R....

    1 man/woman aren't a thin lizzy fan.......they aren't baby either , so they go ......

  82. a.... ....

I always wonder how much heavier Thin Lizzy would have become if Phill hadn't die.

  83. H.... ....

The first time i heard this was on VH1 Classic when they showed one of their live concers and it was at the very end when the credits were rolling and this song just blew me away...I've honestly never been the same since i heard this. It's my favorite song by thin lizzy. i saw this listed on a 3 disk dvd set at an FYE owned store near where i live but it shut down and i regret never buying that dvd set now cause i cant find it anywhere

  84. T.... ....

    @IncapableLP nice!

  85. I.... ....

The reason why i'm here? Long story short: Looking for a good concert-event around here > Found Judas Priest > read abot special guests Thin Lizyy > heard about them bevore > going on YT to hear some songs > reading about Baby please don't go > I know a song with that name played by AC/DC > thinking: Let's give it a try! > Right now? On mah way buying Thin Lizzy CDs!

  86. A.... ....

@guiterry Already done dude ;) One of the best purchase of my rocker life ! ! !
RIP Phil and Gary and long live Thin Lizzy !

  87. S.... K....

Man i am loving the tone on that guitar! I just got so inspired!

  88. J.... H....

I know that some people think that Phil was weak, but he had a heart too big for this lifetime. Rip Phil, You are truly an amazing song writer. And even though he is not here to see the people he inspired through his music and song writing, it will always be apparent that Thin Lizzy touched many as well as rocked their balls off!!! I love Phil and Thin Lizzy!!!

    J.... H....

What a lovely heartfelt comment.Anyone who thinks Phil was weak must think the same for every other rock star that used/abused drugs.Especially during the 70's/early 80's when Lizzy were around.Drugs were just a part of the Rock n Roll territory.Even Casey Kasem used to sniff cocaine before he did the top 40.No wonder why he talked so damn fast!If Phil was only a coke addict I am sure he would have been around.Yet he started doing the H along with Scott Gorham which truly began the deterioration of the band.If he would have been serious about getting clean along with Scott after Lizzy folded we have had at least a dozen more albums of his genius.

  89. P.... ....

Fantastic tune.Very under rated tune but one of Lizzys finest.

  90. M.... L....

    Everyday is Thin Lizzy day..

  91. B.... A....

@MeteoraXV It was Downey and Gorham wanted to quit drugs, so that also contributed. Phil just couldn't get off drugs at the time so Scott thought it would be best to stay away from him. But Downey was the one that really had gotten enough, he founded the band with Phil and was with them from the get go.

  92. B.... A....

Ironically, just when Lizzy looked like they were regaining their old strength, they had to disband. Downey didn't want no more.

  93. s.... m....

    Thin Lizzy For LIFE!

  94. R.... S....

@guiterry Every person I've shown this record to has become a fan because of this magical, once in a lifetime album! Best record of all time!! Bar none!
