They Might Be Giants - Token Back To Brooklyn Lyrics
The token back to Brooklyn fell between the grating
And we're just watching it sinking
The fare went up to one hundred dollars
And we can never go home again
The bill collector's drinking lighter fluid
Our feet start running at a furious pace
But we can't get away

man, that beginning is really creepy
This is subjectively better then the final product
This was uploaded on my own account. I really couldn't agree more. The sound is very unique and I feel like they go much further with the nightmare imagery than in the original. TMBG demos are often extremely rewarding to listen to for reasons like these.
Thanks for posting. I've never heard this version before. I was a kid when dial-a-song was operating.
No problem. This stuff deserves to be preserved, and not merely archived but heard.
