Alas, the song had not been written I believe. This recording is from some time between 1994 and 1996 I believe, because one of the tracks from the recording session made it onto the 1996 album Factory Showroom.

Nikola Tesla FTW! Edison was a fraud who stole the ideas of other & took credit for them.

If you want a song about Tesla, TMBG have you covered.

Well, Tesla wasn't really able to take credit for his ideas, so others tried to use and improve them for themselves.

@L0REN0R2Z0RR0 More correctly said, Tesla lacked engineering skill to turn ideas into useful products. Everybody has "ideas" and dreams up things every day, but it takes a genius like Edison to actually turn them into something practicable. The idea of a pizza or a burger won't fill your stomach, the idea of a lightbulb won't light your room, the idea of radio won't transport messages or music around the world, the idea of a song won't make the Top Ten, the idea of murder is not a crime. It follows that only actual physical things have value, and we very rightly hold those that turn ideas and dreams into tangible reality in reverence, and not so much the idle do-nothings who just describe things but never build them because they are either too inept or too lazy or too proud to do real work. Tesla was just such a useless dreamer, and a greedy one at that, as he actually kept demanding not just recognition but real money for his "ideas". The concept that "ideas" are valuable in themselves is the concept of crooks who want to steal money and fame of those that really improve our lives by real technology and creativity. I have yet to meet anyone praising Tesla who is not a greedy dishonest freeloader if not an outright communist.
