Thanks to commenters Amy and Matthew for telling me this is a cover. I went and listened to the Jonathan Richman version. I like the tempo of this cover better, but the original is pretty cool also.

Im just now going through all the dial a songs since January and to my surprise came across a great Jonathan Richman cover!! The boys did a great job with this one. They are amazing cover artists!

This version does indeed make one wonder how many such bars exist; it's a cover, and missing an important element that was present in the original, which is that he starts out trying to dance at a typical night club which is an uptight scene but then discovers the freedom of dancing at the lesbian bar. Kind of changes the whole meaning of the song. But I do like the sound on this cover, and the video is great.
