What is it with the bing search engine having the wrong words to the right of the video? Seriously, 2 TMBG songs have had the words completely butchered by someone, but with the right credits for it.
Racecar is a palindrome. I can’t think of any others

This is an extremely complicated song. Can someone help me understand what it means. (I know that you probably don't either, but this song deserves analysis).

Just remember: this band made the Mickey Mouse Clubo theme song
Never Odd Or Even
Lonely, tan, mad....Damn! A Tylenol!

One of my best memories with my ex was showing her this song and hearing her laugh hysterically at the first verse.
it's always bothered me that when i stick a dildo up my ass it's not a palindrome, otherwise i would dance around naked with a dildo up my ass to this song
Apparently it's palindrome week.

@Team Cyborg sir are you okay
@woganmogan920 non
It's always bothered me that 'palindrome' is not a palindrome.
My sentiments exactly
To go along with it, 'onomatopoeia' is not an onomatopoeia.
how do you feel about AibohphobiA ?

Hanna made Ted a man? Nah!
Neither of these are palindromes.
Both of them are palindromes. What do you people think a palindrome is?
+PUNK why do you think they're not palindromes?
+PUNK did you change your mind?

This song is pretty deep. Is it for anyone else? I may be reading too much into it, but it sounds like a metaphor for hypocrisy.
I am super interested in this as well. It reminds me of the impossible-to-understand book Finnegans Wake, being about the cyclical nature of things.
It's about cycles and neverendingness
I think its about the coexisting opposites of human duality - the love-hate for our parents, mother gives the child life -the child takes the mother's away, the fact that you're often most equipped to manage you life closest to its end.
@That Thirdman guy that's true of everything.
The Johns have been known to write lyrics that are very open to interpretation. This song was written with the sole purpose of seeing how long of a palindrome they could make, so I don't think there's anything too deep about it, but then again........
I highly recommend you check out the TMBG wiki page. www.tmbw.net is full of lyrics and various interps for their songs.
Aibohphobia(fear of palindromes)

that is a good one, indeed...seems like it could be added to, but i'm in no state...
A sufferer thereof is cibohphobic, and they are a ebohphobe.
Similarly, love of palindromes is ailihphilia, having a love of palindromes is being cilihphilic, and a lover of palindromes is an elihphile.
oh i see you where here first i will stop slathering it all over the comments, good day sir and or ma'am.
Yo, banana boy!
Satan, oscillate my metallic sonatas. Also the word "RacecaR"

Ten animals I slam in a net. God, a red nugget, a fat egg under a dog! Evolved dev love.
It seems to logically follow that palindromism is hereditary. Mom and dad are palindromes, so I must be a palindrome, too.
@0okamino Interesting and true.
Don't forget, this song was recorded sometime in 1991, which is a palindrome year. But, it was not released until early '92 unfortunately.
Sit on a potato pan otis
Simply great

Nice try but you blew it.
I think they had one (an HFSestival) recently (last year?) since HFS reconstituted on the Internet. Station went off the air on the radio a while ago and 99.1 band was used by a country station. Actually I think they're back on the dial somewhere again now as a Baltimore station now for about a year. But I live too far away to get it now though I think you can still get a feed on the Internet. They don't seem quite as edgy as they used to be but maybe that's because what's mainstream now wasn't then.
I wish palindrome was a palindrome.
The fundamental formula of the modern family:
Dad palindrome Dad :: I palindrome I
I remember fondly the HFStival I attended where they were the headliner act right when this album came out. it was AWESOME and the last HFStival that was in a more intimate venue than the stadium event it became....
Apollo 18 was the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project.
Soo Clever :P
I think one of the band had just learned the word palindrome and wanted to right a song about it :P
It SHOULD be! (Like 'phonetic' should be spelled with an 'F'!!!)
I wish that the word for palindrome was a palindrome. Palinnilap or something.
Well, I'm never gonna be able to not think about that now.
This is the song that got me hooked on TMBG, for over a decade now. I first heard them on Tiny Tunes with Istanbul and Particle Man. This was the first album I bought, and the second I heard this song, I knew they were to be my favorite for long to come. Best song on the album IMO. All you fellow TMBG-lovers, you are awesome!
This song especially reminds me of Arrested Development.
I thought Peter came out and gave them medals, declaring them the nicest of the damned...?
well they were once so close to heaven
Someone kept moving his chair
Just dont meet them. They are jerks.
Son, I am able,' she said, 'though you scare me.' 'Watch,' said I. 'Beloved,' I said, 'watch me scare you, though.' Said she: 'Able am I, son.'

Beautiful.
Wait a second, the mom said you son of a bitch. So doesnt that mean she is insulting herself? XD

Awesome tune!
"You son of a bitch!" I Palindrome I.
"That's no good!"
Actually, the lyrics make sense and emulate sort of conceptual palindromes. But the line "Egad, a base tone denotes a bad age" is a palindrome and the bridge is a word-unit palindrome.
So it's a song with lyrics as nonsensical as most palindromes...but it's not in palindrome? I must be missing something.
This song is so complexly filled with palindromes of all types it really puts into perspective how talented these song writers are. Heck from my understanding even the notes are palindromes
My favourite Palindrome is `a man a plan a canal panama `, my least favourite is `a` !
633squadrongoodwin a probably doesn't count as a palindrome
i hope you know what a palindrome is
Best part about this? Song length is 2:22. Also a palindrome.
Thank you God for this song. Also, thank you Dog for this song.
@PatrickRob82 My sentiments exactly, you son of a b----.
the communist sent me here
FFFFFFFF I tried uploading this a while ago and Youtube wouldn't let me D:
Ah well, it's still a great song.
Will be seeing them in two days!! Woo hoo!
This song makes my head spin.
it's a specific sort of band. as in we who love them are specifically blessed. many of my friends i've tried to introduce to tmbg either had a laugh or politely waited till the songs end. i'm still smitten, though listening to this is like hanging out with 1993 me.
Best. Band. Ever. If you disagree, you're wrong.
What about XTC and Adam Ant?
Well, them and Ben Folds Five
Why does this have so few views? It's like the only studio version of the song on Youtube!
