According to the TMBG wiki, the Franz Ferdinand song Dark of the Matinée was an intentional rip-off of this song.

This sounds like the John's impersonation of Oingo Boingo, which is weird because Oingo's most popular song was also released 1985.

Way better than "Hotel Detective".

It still escapes me why this wasn't re-done for Pink Album.
