‘The long, long trailer’ brought me here.
So, apparently, this was on Walking Dead. Cool, I think. I don't watch it, but I think it's cool that more people are listening to this. For me, my dad introduced me to TMBG (along with other bands).
CAUTION: Turn down volume if using headphones. Btw, great vid.
Ed and his dead mother great movie from like 92. At the end with this song
I'm still waiting on my bullets Eugene!
Weird al brought me here
So, who else is here because of Welcome to the Basement?

Ed and his Dead mother brought me here.
If you’re ever feeling bored and that everything’s right with the world, that nothing could be more opaque than the clear and obvious come to, the Johns
Saw these guys live about 25 years ago at this art space called Darenka on the Lower East Side in NYC. Great live, great recordings. "You're a weasel overcome with dinge" holds up 30 years later. They always seemed to write songs that pleased them first and foremost, even if it kind of marginalized them. I'm sure they'd be happy to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (and they should be!), but compromise, sell-out, go mainstream to get it? ....NEVER! Instead they built a successful career writing for kids, tv shows, movies, etc. and keeping TMBG together, mostly for their fans, I imagine, since they probably got a shitload more from their kids' (Disney, mainly) stuff, Malcom in the Middle (Your Not the Boss of Me) & John Stewart Show, etc. For that alone they have my eternal Un-dead respect.
Boring and logical to say, but everything wrong will be right again but "no one knows my plan" and no logic necessary in They Might Be Giants
Thank you walking dead
"Ed and His Dead Mother" SHOULD have brought you here...
One of the most underrated Steve Buscemi movies ever, it's one of my favorites

I was listening to this song before it was on the Walking Dead. I'm such a hipster. /s
I'm happy that this song made it on the Walking Dead. This is an underrated gem.
I have the record. I'm not a hipster. I'm just old.
Eugene left with the Pils hahaha.
This song should be called "Grimbly Gunk".
The Walking Dead
They might be grembly gunks.
Alan Hero Sounds like They Might Be Giants in Roald Dahl's world
He didn't fill out his papers for that!
Hello, which gendre of music is this?
Gremblygunk
Versateq I call it "Nerd rock", and yes, I am a nerd.
Versateq, Alt Rock.
Some call it power pop iirc TMBG dislike that label and it’s pretty hard to categorise them.
music says my life
Nice surprise hearing one of my faves on twd! :D
Ed and his Dead Mother brought me here

Ed & his dead mother (1993) & The Walking Dead bought me here
I am very happy that TMBG was on the walking dead, a great show, and the best band.
TheAidanBros Heard great things about Walking Dead, (guess I better watch it) but they've been my favorite band since I was 13!
The theme of a smarty pants
Dr Stentle 😂
@EightAndAHalf1 Hey dude respect Josh Mcdermit
Smartest damn mullet I've ever met!
walking dead brought me here
Sailor Nothing drought me here.
"You know what that says, right?"
Seiki said he didn't know.
And so Uncle Takeshi pulled the paper insert out of the box,
and translated the lyrics for him... All at once, the happy, bouncy little song that kept him company
turned into something painful, and Seiki cried for the first time in days.
tmbg was in the walking dead?? cool
That's awesome. I'm glad to know someone used this song.
teh Smile "Sailor Nothing" you say?
Walking Dead brought me here
The Walking Dead. Dude just got thrown into a furnace as I write this.
Yup, and in my opinion that was one of the best parts in an all around stellar episode
Chance Webster Why does that make sense in macabre TMBG fashion?

Very Underrated movie from him, i loved watching it as a kid
Happy 30th birthday, TMBG!
Trivia: the cover is made by Rodney Greenblat
LOve this song!!!
How I feel when Donald Trump is running for president.
Soon MEGA 2017 sadly...
To be fair, one's political affiliation shouldn't be prejudiced with whatever music he/she listens to. Kiss me son of god has never been more in context
Update: YES YES and a triumphant YES!
I'm dedicating "When Will You Die?" to that man.
Liam Cooper Then you wasted your chance not becoming President yourself, bee-otch
A piece of fanfiction called Sailor Northing brought me here.
It's not a bad little song.
everything right is wrong again, so they might be giants
Lyrics: Everything right is wrong again
Just like in the long long trailer
All the dishes got broken and the car kept driving
And nobody would stop to save her
Wake me when it's over, touch my face
Tell me every word has been erased
Don't you want to know the reason
Why the cupboard's not appealing
Don't you get the feeling that
Everything that's right is wrong again
You're a weasel overcome with dinge
Weasel overcome but not before the damage done
The healing doesn't stop the feeling
Everything right is wrong again
Just like in the long long trailer
All the dishes got broken and the car kept driving
And nobody would stop to save her
And now the song is over now
And now the song is over now
And now the song is over now
The song is over now
Everything right is wrong again
Every movement false, every four is waltz again
Every five and dime's been gained and spent
Tell me that you like my float upstream
Draw the line dividing laugh and scream
You know everything that I know so I know
You've heard the voice that makes the silent noise
That says that
Everything that's right is wrong again
You're a weasel overcome with dinge
Weasel overcome but not before the damage done
The healing doesn't stop the feeling
Everything right is wrong again
Just like in the long long trailer
All the dishes got broken and the car kept driving
And nobody would stop to save her
And now the song is over now
And now the song is over now
And now the song is over now
The song is over now
real lyrics
I was driving on the freeway in the fast lane
With a rabid wolverine in my underwear
When suddenly a guy behind me in the back seat
Popped right up and cupped his hands across my eyes
I guessed, "Is it Uncle Frank or Cousin Louie?"
"Is it Bob or Joe or Walter?"
"Could it be Bill or Jim or Ed or Bernie or Steve?"
I probably would have kept on guessing
But about that time we crashed into the truck
And as I'm laying bleeding there on the asphalt
Finally I recognize the face of my hibachi dealer
Who takes off his prosthetic lips and tells me
Everything you know is wrong
Black is white, up is down and short is long
And everything you thought was just so
Important doesn't matter
Everything you know is wrong
Just forget the words and sing along
All you need to understand is
Everything you know is wrong
I was walkin' to the kitchen for some Golden Grahams
When I accidentally stepped into an alternate dimension
And soon I was abducted by some aliens from space
Who kinda looked like Jamie Farr
They sucked out my internal organs
And they took some polaroids
And said I was a darn good sport
And as a way of saying thank you
They offered to transport me back to
Any point in history that I would care to go
And so I had them send me back to last Thursday night
So I could pay my phone bill on time
Just then the floating disembodied head of
Colonel Sanders started yelling
Everything you know is wrong
Black is white, up is down and short is long
And everything you thought was just so
Important doesn't matter
Everything you know is wrong
Just forget the words and sing along
All you need to understand is
Everything you know is wrong
I was just about to mail a letter to my evil twin
When I got a nasty papercut
And, well, to make a long story short
It got infected and I died
So now I'm up in heaven with St. Peter
By the pearly gates
And it's obvious he doesn't like
The Nehru jacket that I'm wearing
He tells me that they've got a dress code
Well, he lets me into heaven anyway
But I get the room next to the noisy ice machine
For all eternity
And every day he runs by screaming
Everything you know is wrong
Black is white, up is down and short is long
And everything you used to think was so important
Doesn't really matter anymore
Because the simple fact remains that
Everything you know is wrong
Just forget the words and sing along
All you need to understand is
Everything you know is wrong
Everything you know is wrong
Why do you bring Weird Al, into this?
because the song everything you know is wrong is a parody of a typical tmbg song. and sounds like (to me at least) an upbeat version of this song.
Jaded{151}/I SAVE EVERYTHING ASWEL According to Al, it is a tribute to TMBG.
i am afraid to say that Al's parody made more sense to me than the original. But I love the relaxed tune of the original.
The baroque-y keys at the end are so clutch.
cracking song !!!
you are immensely cool for that
absolutely brilliant! My brother and I were into anything inventive back in the 80s (still are), and I remember when I discovered TMBG (it was Lincoln) during college, and when I went back home, I tried to introduce them to my brother.
He had already purchased this album and was going to introduce me to TMBG. We argued over which one was more brilliant, and I have to say, this won! I wondered if they would ever run out of ideas. I still wonder when that will happen.
I fucking loved this song when I was a kid.
Mother Joan Hazy Yeah until your parents washed your filthy mouth with soap A Christmas Story style...
Ed and His Dead Mother soundtrack! :)
Great, great stuff!!! :-)
I bought this cassette because of the album cover, only to discover a whole new world of music. Still listen to it today!
