Coraline is a good movie. And I'm happy there are no songs in it - they are awesome separately and each time I listen to this it reminds me of the movie.

i can see how the lyrics were made for this song. i see the song was called "careful what you pack" and how it says she thinks she is alone but something is watching her.

how could this be denied for coraline?

It was too upbeat for the overall theme and atmosphere of the film. The only exception was the Other Father's song, which was purposely intended to be happy and upbeat in that scene.

The movie was originally supposed to be a musical, but due to lack of funding, it never happened. This and the other father's song are the only songs released from the original plans. Other songs supposedly exist, but have not been released.

They Might Be Giants originally wrote a whole album (10 songs) for Coraline but like Celestial Dragon stated the songs were considered too upbeat. Which is such a shame because I would love to hear those songs regardless of whether or not they've been used in an awesome film.

Because Coraline was almost a musical, and once they changed that idea most of the songs went by the wayside.
