I like this better than the original. Though I've been a TMBG fan for a while and hadn't even heard of Dukes of Stratosphear until today, so I might be biased.

Tunisia Dorionne this one sounds way more powerful, but that little synth that plays along the song is way better in the original for me, here it's just less harmonic and no so 'mystic'

XTC kicks its own ass with The Dukes of the Stratosphere, even though it's an alterego band, it's so much better than XTC (my personal opinion of course).
this cover is good, but it lacks the energy of the original

Btw the Dukes were a tribute to psychedelia, not a piss-take, and this cover was done for an XTC tribute album (on which XTC also participated, as Terry and the Lovemen, since they couldn't use the XTC name because of their dispute with their label).

This is a pretty lame cover by They Might Be Giants. It's a disgrace to show the original album cover by Dukes of Stratosphear (XTC) since it's not even their version.

I found this on a TMBG podcast, really rocking song!

TMBG had met XTC (AP & CM, anyway) during the recordings of songs for the Carmen Sandiego: Out of This World album, and that's partly where this cover, as well as their own XTC vs. Adam Ant song came from.

I wouldn't say it's better than the original, but I think it does it justice.
