Therapy? - Deathstimate Lyrics

I don't know where this is going
I don't know how long I've got
There is no certain way of knowing
When it's time for the full stop

In this time that I've been given
As I try to fill my days
Everything slips out of focus
The familiar things seem strange

The road ahead looks shorter than the one behind
Either way, I'm no closer to wisdom

There are lots of ugly people in this world
I know because I'm one
When I get a chance I'll step out of the shadows
And turn my face into the sun

The road ahead looks shorter than the one behind
Either way, I'm no closer to wisdom
The road ahead looks shorter than the one behind
Either way, I'm no closer to wisdom

And, we wait

There are things that I will miss
When everything is done
The comfort of our skin
The whisper of our blood

The road ahead looks shorter than the one behind
Either way, I'm no closer to wisdom
The road ahead looks shorter than the one behind
Either way, I'm no closer to wisdom

And, we wait

This is more like the Therapy I belong to. 👍
Less political, more self decimating, spiraling into our own angsty turmiol, fighting our own demons, not the worlds.
Look inwards Therapy, not outward. 👍

Every road I have is shorter than the one behind. There's lots of ugly people in this world, I know because I'm one. Drowning. Not even an oxygenated beard saves me. I'm done. Simplicity is perfection. Pele didn't say that but he nearly did.

you won't even hear this on 6 Music
A band that is criminally overlooked all the time

    c.... ....

    @Sam Stowe
The first single from the album was played on 6 a few times. This, however, has been purposefully chosen to be difficult! Hats of to the band. Obviously I was jesting about Radio 1 (:

    c.... ....

I know, but I still think they are overlooked/ignored far too often. When you listen to the back catalogue they have some excellent work over the years. Did Brief Crack Of Light get the recognition it deserved?

    c.... ....

    @Sam Stowe
They certainly don't get the commercial appreciation, but, considering they have a legion of fans and are massively appreciated on the underground scene, do they need commercial recognition? Brief Crack, though bloody marvellous, was certainly a challenging album for a lot of people I reckon. 'Never Apologise' and 'High Anxiety' are two of my favourites but they aren't that well known comparatively.
Personally I wish they had carried on the 'Crooked Timber'/'Brief Crack' trajectory, both awesome albums. 'Disquiet' is good but has a few tracks that I consider as filler and is a tad more traditional in its song writing approach; not a bad thing but I was enjoying the experimental progressive angle of the last couple of albums. Still, at least none of the last few albums have been as badly produced as 'Semi-detached', the production on that stops me from enjoying it.
