I remember seeing these guys multi times in high school. shit I am 44 now. these guys were so under rated. seen them with Dark Angel. so heavy.

Greg & I had a conversation back in 2013 when they were opening for lamb of god @ the Fillmore in Denver my hometown .. he said basically hates this record, because the label pulled them off the road while they were still touring to promote the Practice what you preach record.. to me that's a harsh reality cause this record is 1 of my favorites.. this tune.. the legacy , malpractice, the title track.. shit my uncle gave me his souls of black hoodie that he bought on the 10 days in May tour..

...and justice for all was definitely their most complex and heaviest album, which is why it is my favorite metallica album, although i can see why people may not like it as much as their previous ones, it lacks the rawness and melody in rtl and especially mop, but i like the fact ajfa is just a really angry album, definitely their most angry album imo as well, it's also the one album that lars actually plays pretty good drums, sadly though they lose the amazing bass that burton brought :(

ride the lightning is agreeable but im not too fond of ajfa. ajfa seems like an album full of fillers that didn't make the cut on the 2 albums before it.

Holy shit. Stop comparing bands to other bands. Testament has their own sound and not many people recognize that. You can hear how much of an influence they have on new thrash bands.

It took me too long to realize that haha I love Megadeth but have to agree. I guess it just reminded me of it in some ways.

Souls of Black is a solid record with great songs like Falling Fast here, the one problem with this record was it was rushed out of the studio, guitars have a ton of verb on them, where there shouldn't be, take some of the verb off so it the record cuts better and you are looking at maybe one of the top testament records. And it prolly woulda had guitar tone similar to Mets black album. Eric's/Alex's guitars sound killer 99% of the time, but the amps sound like they are underwater here

And Megadeth, because the singer sounds like a combination of Hetfield and Mustaine.

Whoa! The singer sounds like Dave Mustaine a lot at some parts of this song.

Not everything has to be Death Metal to be brutal.

One of the most underrated albums in their catalogue. One of my favorites, I would listen to this over Practice, Ritual, Demonic, and Formation. The Legacy, New Order and Gathering, are their best albums.
