Tesla - The Mission Lyrics

Colors pour into my new eyes
A brand new way to see the sunrise
I can't believe what I was missing

Shadows move on the horizon
Under a blood moon rising
Guns gold and Gods speak every language

There's no going back from here

This is my mission
Won't give up, won't give in
Nothing clouding my vision
I'm never bowing down, no

Killing fields burning all night
Win the battle by losing lives
Got nothing left but to seize the moment
Seize the moment
I won't let this fire die

This is my mission
Won't give up, won't give in
Nothing clouding my vision
I'm never kneeling down

This is my mission
Never giving up, never giving in, no
Nothing clouding my vision
I won't bow, bow down

This is my mission
I won't give up, I won't give in
Nothing clouding my vision
I'm never kneeling down, never kneeling down no more

What a great band to see live. Blew my families fkn minds.

  4. M.... H....

My favorite song off this album. Shock is great and afterlife is as well! Love that you guys got together with Phil. I love the sound!

  5. M.... s....

    Badass song

  6. D.... ....

I've read a lot of the comments being luke warm towards the album as a whole. Remember people, these guys are Our age, so they're going to have a different perspective on life then they did back in the 80's. The album, as a whole, might be mellower than their early stuff but the story in them has more depth and meaning since they've gone thru another 20+ years of grief that life has thrown at them; and us. It's a departure from the old Tesla but it's still them and still a great sounding and written album.

  7. T.... V....

Weak album! I miss the real Jeff Keith without the influence of Phil.

  8. R.... M....

Mechanical Resonance all over again! Balls out rock! If this entire album had this sound, the Sunset Strip would be back! Bring back the Cathouse and Rikki Rachtman!

  9. h.... s....

The best song off the cd

  10. h.... s....

They need to go back to the raw tesla when they had tommy

  19. r.... ....

La mejor canción de este álbum !!

  20. G.... T....

It's too bad there aren't more songs like this on the album. I like some of the others quite a bit, but this song has the Tesla sound I love.

  21. D.... D....

    BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM.

  22. P.... P....

    Guitars are so great

  23. D.... C....

This is the best song on the album. Old school Tesla with a great guitar solo that makes you want to crank up the volume.

  24. D.... H....

Vintage Tesla, early favorite off this album. Let those guitars loose, wish they had more on this CD but love Tesla. Life long favorite band!

  25. G.... S....

The best song of this wonderful album, in my opinion.

  26. S.... C....

    TESLA ✌ CONGRATS 💔🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡

  27. S.... ....

My favorite song off this albums

  28. S.... S....

This is the perfect reminder of what's perfect about 80's rock. WHAT A GREAT SONG.

  29. V.... 1....

    Killer chorus.

  30. K.... f....

Love this song, the chorus, the solo section, real old school,no bullshit

  31. J.... F....

    Cool song...

  32. B.... W....

Way to take advantage of your vocals jeff! This is the third song I have heard off the new album...and man is it good in every sense of the name Tesla

  33. A.... L....

Atleast this is better than todays crap and also sadly classic rock stations still play the same 30 songs over and over which sucks when you got tesla doing new music.

  34. K.... C....

Great tune!!! It’s been stuck in my head for 3 days now! I think of it as an Anthem!!

  35. R.... M....

Like how people say this sounds like Def Leppard, sorry folks Def Leppard has sucked since High&Dry Tesla still bringing it!!!!!!!! Haters

    R.... M....

phantoms 2000 All these albums are extremely poppy? What? Simplicity is probably Tesla’s worst record, but that thing is far from poppy. Very stripped down, no layering to speak of, no 4 minute rule.

    R.... M....

@Nick Brevitz you said yourself you're a Weezer and Steelheart fan.you live for that stuff.

    R.... M....

phantoms 2000 I never said that😂 Steelheart is all ballads... I like the song Milo did in Rockstar, Blood Pollution. Even if it’s not my stuff, I respect the dude’s abilities.

Weezer, like I said, I like two of their songs.

    Troll someone else, prick

    R.... M....

@Nick Brevitz first off it's ryche not Reich.they are from Seattle not Germany. You are such a double standard hypocrite for saying comments about Vince Neil and Don Dokken can't sing BUT you give Jeff Keith a free pass because he's old.AND you run your big mouth about Pete Willis and Steve Clark being drunk when your band is well known for all their Coke probs.maybe if they ever get their act together they can actually write their own music instead of constantly brown nosing DL.Oh wait then they won't able to rip off the riff from rocket queen on take me alive.Oooops did I give away the unoriginality of Phil Collen's total train wreck of Shock? I had to listen to it 7 times though because the whole album is just so damn boring.I had to go listen to Dee Snider's For the love of metal video to actually hear some great guitar work.oh look,he's playing to a way bigger crowd too.
Oh and FYI I was having a conversation with someone else and YOU butted in so don't even! Go back to your crappy music ya douche canoe poser!

    R.... M....

phantoms 2000 Jeff fucking blows away Don Dokken and Vince Neil dude. Get a fucking clue. Vince can’t even sing Kickstart and get all the words out with inflection, none whatsoever. He’s famous for skipping words all over the place. Watch him sing Shout at the Devil...Don Dokken can barely be heard over turned down amps, and he’s singing everything in his head voice. No power left at all. Jeff isn’t what he once was, but he’s MILES above those dudes. He can actually be heard, sings largely in his chest, can still put out a scream or two in key, he stays in key during the song... And Tesla has in no way always been brown nosing Def Leppard. They have 2 studio albums that bear any resemblance to Leppard’s later shit, separated by 30 freakin years. One of them is apparently 1 of 2 you actually like. So what the hell do you know? Great Radio had the strongest Leppard influence of any of their albums until this one just dropped.

Yeah Tesla had some problems, like 90% of the bands in that era. Most guys were closer to Crue or VH, than they were Stryper or Kiss. They cleaned up though, and the one guy who didn’t get it, well he got the boot. My point was that Pete Willis was such an alcoholic, that a band absolutely INFAMOUS for its partying could no longer put up with him, while they were all still using and abusing!!! He couldn’t make it work in the damn studio! Tommy got kicked out because he stay sober like the rest of the band was managing to during their rebirth. It’s a shame but it is what it is. From all sources, the band has been cleaned up, besides Tommy.

Look dude, I LOVE Queensrÿche. I jam out to them all the freakin time. Workout playlist, road trip, you name it. I even got freaked out listening to Mindcrime while high as a kite on a Lake Michigan beach. Love that band. Autocorrect is a bitch and I’m a WWII history buff always active in chat groups. Must’ve autocorrected. I’m well aware they’re from Seattle they say it every fucking show haha.

And no, you made a ridiculous comment, saying they haven’t rocked since Ed’s Med. Dude, even the most cynical of Tesla fans (besides yourself I suppose) would completely write off everything since then like that. That’s where I took issue. First 2/3rds of Bust a Nut is freakin heavy as hell! They even played around with a thrash riff. Educate yourself before you make a comment like that... That’s like saying Leppard hasn’t had one heavy song since Pyromania. Which would, again, be wrong, see Retroactive...

  36. N.... E....

I've been a huge Tesla fan since 1986!!! This band is one of the best to see live!!! Awesome New Album!!!

  37. K.... f....

Like this hook, Brian’s bass always sounds frikkn HUUUUGE! Chorus hook on this song is slamming,

  38. J.... A....

Yep starts the good stuff!! Here comes the badass second half !! Side 2 of this album is this shit!!

  39. S.... C....

We Love you Tesla......Thanks for the New Songs...Was great at Myrtle!!! Keep Rockin✔🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🧡🧡🧡🧡

  40. S.... C....

Glad I didn't pay for this piece of shit.

  41. B.... J....

You Wont Take Me Alive, The Mission, and Tied To The Tracks are the 3 saving graces on this record. The rest I can do without.

    B.... J....

    MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY 100%%!!!!

  42. T.... E....

Phil Collen produced it what did you expect it to sound like? of course it's going to have a particular sound to it, Obviously the band wanted to take it to another level and they have succeeded! Good on them. Listen with an open mind, this could very well be there Hysteria!!!

    T.... E....

Right on Tommy.  I'll admit the first time I listened thru the CD it didn't sink in.  The more I listened to it, the better it got.  These cats have been doing this for going on 35 years and ONE line up change.  THEE ULTIMATE BAND>

    T.... E....

Hysteria was the beginning of the end for The Deffs.

    T.... E....

Bass Man Nah, they didn’t want to go in the Direction of AC/DC and right the same album over and over, they grew, and is the reason they are still writing and performing today.

  43. J.... M....

3 for 7...sorry this is def leppard....voice and all

    J.... M....

Really??? I'd LOVE to hear Joe Elliot mimic this chorus. Bet he couldn't come close with a gun to his head and 4 days of vocal rest.

    J.... M....

@Nick Brevitz yeah he sounded real good on save that goodness and making an entire song about mp3's😅maybe Jeff should stop smoking and he'd have a better voice!

    J.... M....

phantoms 2000 The guy went vegan, I doubt he’s still smoking. It’s called aging, happens to everyone.

He sang on this record awfully well, pulled off Shock when I saw them live. He’s far from Vince Neil/Don Dokken/David Lee Roth territory, so stop complaining.

    J.... M....

@Nick Brevitz that makes sense to smoke for 20 years & party then become vegan.maybe Jack Russell should give it a try after all his meth use, huh? As for aging Alice Cooper is in his 70's and STILL puts on a good show.wish I could say the same for Tesla's other guitarist.he seems really catatonic on all the videos.i notice you said nothing about the band saying to THEIR fans to f off🤔

    J.... M....

phantoms 2000 Dave is fine, he plays his parts well and contributes to the writing process. Alice DOES still put on a good show, but he definitely doesn’t have the range he used to. Doesn’t hit the chorus on Poison like he did 30 years ago. Like I said, aging. A lot of the beasts of that era have lost something.

Brian had a point. People listened to a song with an AC/DC inspired riff and they cried Def Leppard... Taste Like sounds more like ACDC twisted up something with a play on the riff from VH’s Little Guitars. If you listen back to Great Radio, there’s some strong Leppard influence. Party’s Over definitely has that vibe. “Turn out the lights” in a big gang chorus.

  44. M.... W....

JK sounds just like Joe Elliot at the beginning, but then that raspy voice comes on thru. Great song

    M.... W....

    No he does not .

    M.... W....

@josh whitehead Then you obviously haven't heard Joe Elliot in his early days, not the poppy shit

    M.... W....

It sounds exactly like Joe Elliot at the beginning!

    M.... W....

    @Jim Litch yep

  45. S.... ....

Now this is bona fide Tesla! Please, let your next album be populated with songs in this vein.

  46. S.... L....

    I miss Tommy skeoch

  47. K.... K....

Awesome as ever. The band just keeps on rocking!!!

  48. R.... S....

Thank God for this track! Phil Collen has too much 'Delta Deep Twang-Groove' in his veins the last few years. You can hear that influence all over this album. This track saves this record because of the absence of that groove. Love Phil, Leppard and Tesla - just not in love with that twangy groove.

Now where is Song and Emotion part 2? 😂

    R.... S....

    MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY 100%%!!!!

    R.... S....

Bring back Tommy Skeoch and make one more classic Tesla album please .

  49. R.... W....

This is what the whole album should sound like.

    R.... W....

They need to start with this song and work off this not happy with their direction they are watered down but what do you want from a bunch of old guys and a guy tryin to fill tommys shoes

  50. M.... W....

    Like it very much!

  51. W.... S....

This is the only track off the new album that sounds like Tesla! Killer track!!

    W.... S....

    Thats a fact

    W.... S....

Right off the bat, it reminded me of Edison's Medicine.

  52. e.... ....

Best song on the album. Its a great album but the def leppard influence is very strong. This song however is vintage tesla and it also has a guitar solo which quite a few of the songs are missing.

    e.... ....

Everything you said was on point.

    e.... ....

    Ditto to that.

    e.... ....

I'm hearing more of a Jeff Lynn/ELO influence with the song writing paralleling John Lennon. To each his own I guess. I love the entire album except for the "Intermissions"

    e.... ....

I agree they didn't need to sound more like def leppard they need to go back to the little suzi days when they had Tommy on lead guitar

    e.... ....

Tesla needs to go back to the sound they had with tommy s. on guitar and def leppard needs to go back to the sound they had with steve steamin clark on guitar R.I.P STEVE CLARK

  53. R.... H....

    TESLA FOREVER
