You say you aren’t calling the band evil, but you are claiming that they are by nitpicking their videos like this. Just cause a desert is present doeesn’t make it a negative message. Jesus spent forty days in the desert. A lot of Godly people both in the Bible and in present times lived/live in a desert. Desert doesn’t just represent desolation and despair. It can be a positive thing too. It’s all about how you perceive it. I could perceive my struggles as meaning I’m being punished or tested or I could perceive them as a time where God is carrying me and providing where I cannot.

I have never even heard of tenth avenue before, so this is my first time listening to them. My first thoughts about them are that they are totally awesome and I would defiantly rate them 10/10! :D

the effect of their music is in that moment in those three minutes or that one lyric sentence, it overpowers me with hope and love snd comfort. its great for in that moment and then the questions runs at full spend. how? what? and why? .... its werid.

The lyrics matter it's doesn't matter how modern it sounds if you all been touched by God you would understand the lyrics it's a fun worship song to listen unto the Lord and feel his spirit overflow inside and outside of you if ya'll not feeling that then that's sad every song is to not make u feel good but to sing praises of worship unto the Lord and make him feel good

I don't love the modern sounding sounds as much as past or "authentic" Tenth Avenue North songs, but because Tenth Avenue North is amazing, their lyrics are genuine, and I have personally met Mike Donehey and can testify to the kind of guy he is, I'm liking this all the way. Stoked for the new album!

Really solid worship song, but this is no surprise coming from a band as talented as Tenth Avenue North. I actually dig all the singles so far, even though "What You Want" is a bit of a typical pump-up anthem. I doubt from what I've heard that this will compare to their best album "Cathedrals". Even though I have enjoyed their pop/rock style, I can definitely see this band doing more straight-up pop and doing it well.

"Afraid" spoke to me in a very personal way, but at the moment, I'm with you in that I'm not sure this album could compare to Catherdrals, which happens to be my favorite Tenth album overall. :) Also, the music of "What You Want" did not stand out to me amidst the ruckus of regular radio music. I still like this band a lot, though and look forward to hearing the complete album.

Agreed, guys! Cathedrals in my opinion is by far their best album. Not diggin' the new album too much :-/ They have such a a unique sound and this sounds like over played pop beats and every day church music/sounds.

Ryan, now that I've heard the whole album, there are some songs that I really like. "Afraid" is of course one of them. "Control" and "I have this hope" have also stood out to me. I also listened to the album "Over and Underneath" a few days ago, and found that (not surprisingly) I still love it.

my personal two cents, I don't care for the techno - pop as much as albums like the Struggle... I'm glad they're having fun with new sounds, but all their new songs are just nothing new to the beatbox. (and I have all 4 of their albums)
