Ten Years After - Sweet Little Sixteen (Live) Lyrics

They're really rockin' in Boston
In Pittsburgh, P.A.
Deep in the heart of Texas
And 'round Frisco Bay
All over St. Louis
'Way down in New Orleans
All the cats wanna dance with
Sweet Little Sixteen

Sweet little sixteen
She' just got to have
About a half a million
famed autographs
Her wallets filled with pictures
She get 'em one by one
Becomes so excited
Watch her, look at her run

'Cause they'll be rockin' on Bandstand
In Philadelphia, P.A.
Deep in the heart of Texas
And 'round Frisco Bay
All over St. Louis
'Way down in New Orleans
All the cats wanna dance with
Sweet Little Sixteen

Sweet Little Sixteen
She's got the grownup blues
Tight dresses and lipstick
She's sportin' high heel shoes
Oh, but tomorrow morning
She'll have to change her trend
And be sweet sixteen
And back in class again

Oh, mommy, mommy
Please may I go?
It's such a sight to see
Somebody steal the show
Oh daddy, daddy
I beg of you
Whisper to mommy
It's all right with you

Come on.. he could at least learn the the lyrics. Terrible. He repeated her wallet's filled with pictures and left off the rest of the line . The song is a story for god's sake.

Why does nobody object to songs about underage girls? I don't get it?

    SAW THEM TWICE,,,1970,,,,,79,,,

This is fucking excellent. I wasn't into them back in the day because I never heard of them by way of the radio or word-of-mouth. It was different back in the 60's-80's, as far as what was heard and known of bands. With no internet, and where I lived, no listening booths at record stores, there was no way of knowing; and back then, with record prices what they were, it was a hard decision to try an unknown band versus one heard/known.

Alvin Lee was the definitive rock star - chiseled good looks, a great distinctive vocal style and fantastic guitarsmanship. One of the very greatest rock stars of all time. Not to be forgotten is the awesome bass guitar of Leo Lyons as well. TYA was an underrated rock act, far better than most realized, and not near enough U.S. radio play...

    Chuck could not keep up

Every time Alvin starts soloing, they show a close up of the bass player. Effing idiotic.

Lol. I know. I wonder if it was the same camera-man who did the Ozzy/Randy Rhodes videos; When Randy went into his solo, the cameraman focused on the bass player. lol

I will give it a thumbs down. Nothing right in the lyrics. At least learn the fucking song. What in the hell is he singing?

@jimmy hawkins Alvin alway's forget lyrics of cover songs live(on & off) ,but at least He was capable of tuning His guitar & playing in tune thereafter ,unlike Chuck Berry.
