Ten Years After - I'm Coming On Lyrics
May be right, or may be wrong
But I gotta do something before the day is gone
Could be small, or could be big
But I gotta do something that I can dig
May be good, or may be bad
May be cool, or may be hot
But I gotta do something I need a lot
Oh baby, don't cry, don't dry, don't cry
You shouldn't do that
I'm coming on
Well, baby, I'm coming on
Yeah, babe, I'm coming on
Babe, babe, I'm coming, I'm coming...

What a sublime solo, tone , control, original, fluent, etc etc, the whole thing is fucking amazing, but then I have been listening to these fuckers for 51 years. Hoghead
Alvin just is great
I bought the LP somewhere in 1974...not bad I thought then...now I find it something special...

Memories of the basement bedroom in high school 1970's. LOUD! on the Realistic stereo system.
i love it. more then love like a man or goin home. check out ABOUT TIME by TYA from 1991 its a full of hits record. vwery underrated.
Loud was invented for this song.
that drummer is deep in the pocket
The announcement of the solo (1:39) and the solo itself are simply unique.
More like 1:31 gets ll in there : )
I bought this album for 5 bob in a second-hand shop in Dover (England) in late 1971; f'ing A.
I don’t like this. It is bullshit
Three of my favorite bass players are Billy Cox, Berry Oakley, and Leo Lyons. This song is one of the reasons why I'm so fond of Leo, I like cats who swing
I just had buffalo's version of this song as soon as I clicked this one
RocknRoll,now can you dig that.
Muito Bom!
Ten years after totally ripped this off. James Gang Rides Again came out several months before this was recorded. Listen to how much the guitar riff at 1:32 sounds like the riff from Funk #49.
Tanner Harris:
Indeed it does. And apart from those few seconds there is absolutely no similarity between the two tracks whatsoever. So to say TYA 'totally ripped this off' is rather ridiculous.
And the TYA track is overall vastly superior.
@Mike Nelson Well said--totally agree
маааааазно
one of their m ost energetic songs of all.i love it.

ANDY BUTLER HAS IT RIGHT! TEN YEARS AFTER/THE HEAVIEST BAND IN THE LAND!

szerintem a korai korszak egyik legjobbja.
Lisergic !!!
Makes me really really angry when people start talking about great rock bands and list rolling Stones, who, u2, Queen, van Halen etc before ten years after!! Grrrrrrr, Alvin Lee and the boys blow that lot out of the water and some
@Nash Burnette Only in record sales--not in musicianship.
AndyButler: I could not agree with you more. When a Ten Years After performance was over I always felt that I was on top of the world. Each one of those guys were 1st rate musicans.
Well, the stones were great when mick taylor recorded and toured with them. My two favorite albums of the stones are known as the Mick Taylor years. Now I like Alvin Lee as much as anybody. But do you know who peter green is? If you don't, then you should. Don't google him. Ill be happy to turn you on to him from my view point
@stavros poniridis thx but id rather hear alvin lee play it. If youre going to cover someone elses stuff, at least twist your own sound to it and not imitate someone or copy someone elses
@Tanner Harris and you are "totally" 80's. Totally!!! First, even though I like Joe Walsh, he couldn't even carry Alvin Lees guitar strap. I don't need to ho listen to it. I already know it. No rip off here. Not even an inspiration of funk #49. I don't listen to joe walsh over years and years and still in aw like I do Alvin Lee, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, peter Green and SRV. Wow. That's really reaching.
what a riff and solo
Bass isn't too shabby either. Great song played LOUD!
These dudes are straight up ICONIC..........nuff said!
Alvin's birthday is today RIP 3-613 at 68 Saw TYA live 2 or 3 times around 1970 - San Diego Sports Arena. Great Lp along with
Shhh/Cr Green /Undead/ Stonedhenge
The song of my youth
May be right, or may be wrong
But I gotta do something before the day is gone
Could be small, or could be big
But I gotta do something that I can dig
May be good, or may be bad
But I gotta do something or I'm going mad
May be cool, or may be hot
But I gotta do something I need a lot
:)
My absolute favorite band in the 70s!!! Alvin Lee, Chick Churchill, Leo Lyons and Ric Lee ... great musicians!!! I have all of them!!!
