Temptations, The - Since I Lost My Baby Lyrics

The sun is shining, there's plenty of light (oh yeah)
A new day is dawning, sunny and bright (oh yeah)
But after I've been crying all night
The sun is cold, and the new day seems old
Since I lost my baby. (Since I lost my baby.)
Oh, since I lost my baby. (Oh, since I lost my baby.)

The birds are singing and the children are playing
There's plenty of work and the bosses are paying
Not a sad word should a young heart be saying
But fun is a bore and with money I'm poor.

Since I lost my baby. (Since I lost my baby.)
Oh, since I lost my baby. (Oh, since I lost my baby.)
Next time I'll be kinder (Next time I'll be kinder)
Won't you please help me find her (Won't you please help me find her)
Someone just remind her (Someone just remind her)
Of this love she left behind her (Of this love she left behind her)
Till I find her I'll be trying ta (Till I find her I'll be trying ta)
Everyday I'm more inclined ta
Find her
Inclined ta
Find her
Inclined ta find my baby
Been looking everywhere (ba--by)
Baby, I really, really care!

Oh, determination is fading fast (oh yeah)
Inspiration is a thing of the past (oh yeah)
Can't see how my hope's gonna last
Good things are bad and what's happy is sad

Since I lost my baby. (Since I lost my baby.)
Oh, since I lost my baby. (Oh, since I lost my baby.)
I feel so bad (since I lost my baby)
I feel so sad (since I lost my baby)
Everything is wrong
This heart is hard to carry on (since I lost my baby)
I'm lost as can be (since I lost my baby)
What's gonna happen to me?

    I.... A....

    Swetheart !

    I.... A....

Thanks I was just looking for these lyrics!😁

  76. C.... W....

Nothing like it. Their voices, the way they dressed, their moves, the music, the songs and words. And to think this was every day music on the radio. I'm so glad I was a teenager in the sixties.

  77. J.... S....

I always liked Davids versatility in range smooth or rough and in between when needed there alternate version of this where he sings it in his late 60s style where its more rough and gritty you can find that version on the temptations the love songs CD great no matter how he sings it

  78. f.... f....

This sets of temptations... Is the best singing group ever......

    f.... f....

I say JACKSON 5 up there to

  79. U.... ....

Music reflects the times. It’s not that the music was better back then, WE were better back then. Men begged for the affection of a woman. Women were way more secure because of it. “Plenty of work and the bosses are paying” That was the end of a beautiful era. The magic of Motown captures it all. I was born just before the first Motown record so I was weened on some really really good music. If I could in some way transport today’s youth back to that time, they would realize what they’re missing. I feel so sorry for the people of today. It brings tears to my eyes to know what they have missed

    U.... ....

    Bigman920 Well said, my friend..

    U.... ....

While you're correct about the music reflecting the times - You left out that blacks were considered 2nd class citizens - So David here, absent of his singing voice, was treated like dirt and women weren't considered as equal and controlled in many aspects; which perhaps why that security you speak of was present.

    U.... ....

    @82mmkay
So whats your point? At least back then these singers had a valid complaint however, they didnt just sit there and complain they sang and created a legacy for all those coming after them. They dealt with the racism oppression like the real men they truly were

    U.... ....

By virtue of your comment, you clearly missed the point. Particularly that last one- "They dealt with the racism oppression like the real men they truly were"; as if to say, that the artists of the today don't do that. The irony of comment IS, that you haven't a clue of how ANYONE from Motown or other record companies dealt with racism & oppression! Newsflash, at that time, they in fact, were told to shut up about racism & oppression or it would ruin their careers. Thus, they had NO hand in dealing with anything remotely affecting them in or beyond the stage. Singing wonderful & classic songs, but, being unable to benefit from them as the society at large invalidates your statement. P.S. Many black artists today have valid arguments vis a vis bigotry & racism. I'm glad to see dismiss that by and large - Sheesh! @jacqueline russell

    U.... ....

@82mmkayThis is My point exactly, all they do is complain eventhough they have never truly experienced what these early pioneers went through. Ya dig?

  80. N.... P....

Love this song- have this album

  81. L.... L....

my favorite Temptations song.i.loved their music..it's easy to see how this band made the hall of fame..an of course my favorite singer was the late great David Ruffin..but it's my opinion Otis Eddie an Blue..had beautiful voices ..as well

  82. S.... B....

    What they know about this?

  83. C.... W....

Temptations were the best then, now and always!

    C.... W....

    u bet ta know it

    C.... W....

    Yess....

  84. T.... B....

Will never be music like this again

    T.... B....

Thank GOD truly good classic music never dies As long as there is mankind music will live on

    T.... B....

    U got that right

  85. s.... ....

big hit back in the day know it well even though i was only 10 but im 63 now and its like yesterday again

  86. A.... t....

My father loved this song he lost his battle with cancer eight years ago.

  87. T.... M....

    I love this song!

    T.... M....

Me too. Great memories it brings back.

  88. E.... M....

Without David Ruffin y'all ain't nothin.

  89. P.... W....

Paul Williams is the lead vocalist, not Ruffin.

    P.... W....

catman916: No, you are wrong, as are so many people. I am amazed that people cannot differentiate between the voices of Williams and Ruffin plus I have seen film of the Tempts performing the song with Paul being circled by the other four.
Paul Gambaccini has been broadcasting for over half a century, not for nothing is he known as " the professor of pop ", and he agrees with me.

    P.... W....

David did sing lead on this song. What r u talking about...doesnt even sound like paul. Maybe u seen him sing lead at performances after david was no longer with them

    P.... W....

jessica : I know that Williams was lead, and the film I saw was from 1966 on Vintage tv. Brush up on your grammar and punctuation.

    P.... W....

Dude i can careless about my grammar n punct...im just addressing u...goodbye lol

    P.... W....

David was the lead on this on. Paul sang lead on Don't Look Back. Listen to both songs and you can hear the difference. Now Paul may sang the song after David left the group because I heard him sing My Girl on the live album The Temptations live at London's Talk of the Town. Dennis was with them by then. But on this song, most definitely it was David Ruffin. I remember when this song first came out. Then everybody had their favorite Temptation and David was my favorite.

  90. L.... W....

People don't love like this anymore.. Therein lied the inspiration to write and sing like this

  91. E.... A....

    Excellence!

  92. V.... H....

DAVID,REST IN HEAVEN TILL WE MEET.YOU WILL FOREVER BE A LEGEND.

  93. w.... ....

Johnnie Walker show brought me here.

  94. A.... C....

Age 5. I just loved this song. I didn’t know David Ruffin was saying in the beginning of the third verse but I loved how he made his voice slide back to the way he sounded at the first verse when he got to ‘fadding fast’. And of course, after the last ‘since I lost my baby’ ‘I feel so (wooo- oooh) . . . Just loved how the others crooned that part.

  95. V.... H....

BEAUTIFUL VOICES AND A BOMB BAND.DAVID WAS,IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY ALL TIME FAVORITE 💔💖💖💖💖😢😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
