avec ce dernier album, le groupe finit en beauté... une plénitude rayonnante... mais trop talentueux pour être populaires, trop intelligents pour être aimés... le bon peuple a du mal avec ce qui est subtil, plein de finesses... il préfère les "bons gros machins" bien identifiés, à classer dans tel ou tel tiroir... Aujourd'hui, on veut tout définir, tout étiqueter alors que ces grands artistes sont libres et insaisissables...

Television might very well be the best band alive. Once you see them live your life changes completely.

He's definitely intoning like David Thomas of Pere Ubu in this song. If you love Television you might like Sonic Youth ... at times they sound like a reincarnation ("Incinerate", "Antenna", "Hyperstation").

I really tried to like Sonic Youth, but I just can't stand them. However, Pere Ubu are another thing - incredible.

Opposite for me. I ADORE SY, and Pere Ubu...I like Non-alignment Pact and that's about it.

The only song on the album they weren't playing when they toured on it. Great track though. IMO Verlaine is doing an imitation of Pere Ubu's David Thomas, who he thinks of as Crocus Behemoth from days they played the same clubs occasionally. I remember an interview years back when Verlaine was challenged to name a contemporary he DID think was interesting, and he said "that guy Crocus Behemoth" (sic).

Exactly... not a lot of people like or have even given this album a chance. It's real nice.
