Television - Ain't That Nothin' Lyrics

You're pushin' a furnace
You're workin' too hard
You're setting things off - all over the yard
You play with your 'top' - till your eyes start to spin
Then you shrug your shoulders and ask me where I've been
Travel fulfills you but the distance it kills you

Oh oh, ain't that nothin'
Why don't you tell me somethin'
Tragedy
Ain't that nothin'
I just wish you'd tell me something

The fan keeps whirling
The wind stays hot - but I can't keep from slippin' a lot
I look in that purse
It's a blessing and a curse

Discover dishonor with its thousand commands
It ain't worth a shot
That target is sand
But I love disaster and I love what comes after

Seriously, this is great for internalizing for when you must go into a high stress, chaotic environment that calls for decisive, deliberate action and VICTORY for the TEAM! Then later when people will ask you how you all did it . . . you can just smile and say truthfully . . . easy day, it was nothin.

  3. S.... ....

Im here again. Epic brilliance, its like a health tonic.

still love to hear this song

Just as near perfect a NYC rocker as you can get from back in that era. I wish the end was extended without vocals for a minute or so to better appreciate the killer playing of Verlaine/Lloyd.

    That groove is magic.
    Love it

what brought me here was the line: "I love disaster and I love what comes after", so apposite here in NYC mid-November 2016. except I couldn't get there. yet. I hope.
A disaster to the rescue, as they say.

Richard Lloyd! he ascends Parnassus from 2:02 - 2:12, then achieves satori around 4:10 - 4:15

Dude rips it to bits, awesome :)

  12. A.... P....

Martial percussion, controlled with a discernible.

Power, hard-driving one/two punch by Verlane and Lloyd.

Love how the song reaches dramatic guitar interlude/pause, and then pushes higher.

The vocal chorus then has a slight twang that gives the martial spirit a unique soulful edge.

    A.... P....

    . . . A discernible reverb on the downbeat.

I thought this album was a bit hit and miss compared to Marquee Moon (inevitably), but still had some real high spots, including this song. Cool as, some of the best guitar riffs I've ever heard.
