Should've been given a major label release (surprised Polygram's Motown imprint didn't come to her inquiring about potential album distribution possibilities at the time, it's hands-down her BEST 90's work for goodness' sake!). Guess as soon as she parted ways with Epic, nobody wanted to deal with her after that. What a damn shame, praying a reissue label like Cherry Red for instance will finally cut through the red tape that's keeping 'Passion Play' from seeing the light of day again because I'm sure as hell not paying $50 or more for even a heavily-used copy (bleech!).

I look forward to hearing the new CD called "BEAUTIFUL" hopefully coming out in 6 months according to Alia Rose, Teena Marie's daughter. I am truly looking forward to having her 14th album/CD. I heard this information on "Being Teena Marie" on the Centric Channel which came on last week for Lady Tee's birthday.

Our beloved singers and entertainers are passing on because "THE ALMIGHTY" needs them more than we do. @kahmncntz29 I never really gave the rest of Passion Play a chance, I was too busy listening to "Hypnotize", "Climb The Walls", and this song haha. I didn't watch the memorial. I'm not ready to yet. I wanna go to California and ride past her house (I know that sounds mega crazy).

@Memelisciousxoxox Hope your recording went well and hey don't listen to "Smooth Tip" if you really don't like it. I'm going to check out "Lady Tee" singing to "Smokey" as soon as I can. The "TEE MATE" thing I got from watching the memorial service they had posted for her on "YOU TUBE" that was given by her bestfriend Mickey and her daughter Jene, Teena's Goddaughter. It came out in January of 2011 in California.

@kahmncntz29 hahaha I JUST got done recording myself singing this song. I even mentioned how I didn't like the ending in the video. Very corny indeed. Maybe she just didn't know how to end the song. Who knows but you're right that woman could sing her soul out. You'll never heard a person go "man Teena sounded bad at such and such last night". I like that term, Tee Mate haha. I've always loved Teena. I don't really like smooth tip but I'll give it a listen!

I checked out your site and you understand the depth of "LADY TEE'S" GOD given talent of singing from the soul and being in touch with her spirit. She always said she didn't like corny and that's exactly what the ending of "Wild Horses" was, very corny. But the woman could sing for me anytime and what the heck is a "Smooth Tip." I love that song !!!!!!!

@kahmncntz29 Took the words right out of my mouth. She could have kept the sweet and tender lover part but the key of the piano threw it all off. it should have just faded a lil after that. I still am on Tee like white on rice. I loved that woman she was more than just an idol and a singer to me.

Why LADY T decided to end it this way I would surely like to know. A beautiful fade out ending with her still singing would have been perfect!!!!!!! Her vocals will always blow me away !!!!!!!

@musiclover77able This is an excellent album and yes, definitely slept on. I wooed so many folk with this one...each time the reaction was just 'awe'. I still played this one til some real arse stole it! It was stolen from in December. I was about to write her to ask where I could find it again or if she would send me one with her beautiful signature. God I cried when I heard that she was gone. I practically listened to her everyday so that i could 'go there' where only her music could take me.

This entire CD is a mainstay in my car... In fact my favorite from the whole "Passion Play" album. This talent should be known in history only: life-story, fable, legend, music, song-writing, songs, voice, poetry, interviews, concert videos, TV appearances, critic reviews, album and song write-ups, etc (?have I haven't missed anything.) It would be absolute Lady-Tee blasphemy to make a film about her. Just look what they did with Etta James... ?can you say "Beyoncé!" I rest my case.

Love this song, this whole cd. By wild horses, she's saying that not even a whole stampede of them could stop them from getting to her lover. A stampede of horses is forceful and really can't be controlled. She's saying that not even that could 'keep her away.' This is an awesome song
